Truck blew out a spark plug by then couldnt figure out how common this problem was with the expedition this kit did a repair much better than others, very simple and easy to use, however you do need air compressor and a air ratchet to make this a lot easier

This is a great product, I blew a spark plug on my 2001 V-10 Excursion 1,500 miles from home ! I had the kit overnighted to my location and did the repair in the parking lot ( There are videos on YouTube that made the job super easy) This is the Only kit on the market that makes this a permanent repair.

Fixed my 97 Expedition that had a blown our spark plug two weeks ago and it is running great. I was really nrevous about trying to do this myself, but I had to keep the costs as low as possible. Bought the CalVan 38900 and let it sit for a couple of weeks till I got up the nerve to tackle the job. Looked at a bunch of videos including the one that came with the kit and was pretty sure that I could do this even though I only had hand tools to work with. I had no bore scope, air ratchet, or starter button, but was able to do the job just fine with a 1/2 ratchet handle, I bumped the motor over using the key to get the valves closed and measured piston height by using a soft plastic rod inserted into the spark plug hole. Luckily I was on the front of the engine so it was easy to get to. The supplied guide holds the reamer and tap bits in the correct position and it takes a few minutes to get the hole ready to install the insert. The inserts look well made and went in without a hitch. It was easy enough that I wanted to do the other 7 plugs but didnt want to deal with the clearance issues towards the rear of the engine. But should the need arise later, I have the kit and 7 inserts ready and waiting.

This worked great, easy to use. Fixed my truck in a short time.

Worked like it should, same cost as the shop for one repair. The kit comes with all 8, I had to take the guide to my wire wheel on my bench grinder to smooth it out to fit in the spark plug hole.

Blew a sparkplug out of my 1997 f150 5.4. Bought this and got right back on the road.

Brother in law used a cheap self tapping spark plug kit. within a month it eroded a hole around the plug. If I had not caught it when I did the head would have been ruined. This kit fixed it and was able to bore out and cleanup the spark plug hole enough that the insert fit in nice. Also did a second plug that a plug blew out that my brother in law installed. Both inserts still working and holding and I have more confidence in these then I do the remaining 6 plugs that dont have inserts. This is WELL WORTH the extra price to know you wont ruin the head and the fix is permanent. Also make sure you blow out with compressed air the spark plug hole before you take the plug out to keep crap from falling into the cylinder.
