I recently purchased a V10 F-350 with a spark plug blown out. I measured the hole and found it was about .650 diameter so it had been repaired once before with the Time-sert kit and the time-sert blew out. This kit worked great. I was in a hurry and the truck is worth about $500 so I ran the tools in with some cutting lube, sprayed some brake cleaner down the hole, ran the engine for about 30 seconds to clear the chips out of the bore and then installed the new insert with red loctite. total job took about 10 minutes and the truck drives perfectly. Im a machinist and if Id known the OD threads were 3/4-14 I could have done this entire repair without buying the tool kit. Id have made a sleeve for an 11/16 drill and one for a 3/4 tap and just bought the insert for $20

Over all easy to use however the tap did not have enough of a taper so it would not start. If I did not have a customer that needed his van I would have sent it back for that price one would expect it to be right. So instead I had no other choice but to add more of a taper on the grinding wheel. Worked perfect after that

This kit was easy to use and works great. I had my 03 F150 back on the road in a couple of days. I gave it a little extra time to set up after instal just to be safe. I am very happy with the outcome and would recommend the kit to anyone that is comfortable doing this type of repair.

The videos make it super simple to fix a blown out plug. I’ve used this now multiple times on my 1999 F350. Works great.
