Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens

Good lens for this price!

I like the extra capability the lens gives me, as I am a beginner hobby photographer. I am excited to use this lens more! I read about the crop factor before buying it, I’m using a rebel t6, and it definitely is cropped and zoomed in more but it’s been fun to just try other ways to get my pictures to work. But if that’s a problem for you I wouldn’t recommend getting this lens. I also don’t like the cap that much that protects the front of the lens, it feels like it’ll come off easy which annoys me a little but it hasn’t popped off yet so hopefully it’ll just stay on if I’m careful.

Seriously, if you own a Canon camera (DSLR or mirrorless, APS-C or full-frame) then you should definitely own this lens. In fact, it should probably be the first lens that is purchased after having a kit-lens that was provided with your camera body. Very sharp, light, and relatively small - a perfect lens to just leave on your camera most of the time! Any potential downsides (not the fastest aperture lens, plastic build) are wiped away by the low cost and very good image quality! Oh, it doesnt come with a lens hood and the Canon OEM hoods are ridiculously expensive. Just find a good third-party hood on Amazon for 1/5 of the cost of the Canon hood.
