> 3 dayIm always leery of products like this when I read such disparate reviews. But I bought it anyway. I have some old movies on VHS that I want to bring over to MP4 and DVD. The install was very easy. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!! 0. DONT INSTALL THE USB YET!! 1. Install the driver. DONT REBOOT YET 2. Install the software. REBOOT WHEN DONE. DONT RUN IT YET! 3. Plug in the USB (I had it in a USB 3.0 port) 4. Run the software as administrator (or it wont work right I found out) 5. Do the configuration as shown in the booklet I plugged my VCR into the video/audio connections and fired it up. It worked great! The quality of the video is good considering the VHS I was copying isnt the newest. Audio was great. I have quite a number of VHS tapes Im going to move to electronic format. This seems to be the thing to do the trick. Id certainly recommend it. Hooked up

> 3 dayRather than spends hundreds of dollars to convert family recordings to digital, this was a golden find. Also allowed me to preserve these family moments and enjoy them again. Without this, I’d have never heard my husband’s voice again after he passed away. When you send your vhs tapes in to be transferred they typically come back with music rather than the audio. Not with this. I was able to easily transfer video and audio! Best ever and so easy to use.

12-01-2025OK, I never write a review on anything I buy online except to help or save others money and time. This product has numerous faults. I am not a tech savvy person but I am not stupid either. 1. The description needs to be clear that an additional (not supplied) cable is definitely needed to connect the VHS player to the video capture device. Reading previous reviews/descriptions, this was not explained enough. 2. If your computer does not have internal speakers, or you rely on headphones alone for audio, you will not have audio on your DVDs. 3. It needs to be clear that this is a two step process. You capture the VHS video to your computer first, then insert the DVD disc for downloading. It is not automatically captured to the disc as the VHS tape is playing. 3. On-line support is not immediately ready for assistance. Expect AT LEAST 24 hours or more for support. On the positive side it is not that expensive but the return policy is poor considering this was purchased for downloading tapes for Christmas gifts, and unfortunately the period for refunds expired prior to trying it out. Very disappointed.

13-01-2025I am using this product to transfer data from VHS tapes to DVDs. This product works great and is pretty inexpensive compared to other products on the market. I;m not real savvy about computers, so I had a little problem understanding how to use this, initially. I emailed tech support and they were fantastic. They responded within a few hours and worked with me until I got it right, even on the weekend and late at night. Outstanding support. I highly recommend this product. George

> 3 dayThis does work. I am not a computer person and it took me days to figure it out. The instructions online are different than the instructions in the package and the information in the Q&A help is different than both of those. I feel this would be 4 stars if the instructions were cleaned up. Now that Ive got my video, Im trying to figure out how to edit it. That seems just as challenging. It might be easier to locate other software for that. :(

> 3 dayIt took several hours to properly install the VHS2DVD Wizard software and drivers, as the default settings were pointing to my webcam. The capture device only worked on USB 2.0 ports, not USB 3.0 (possibly being a bottleneck). The software requires the installation CD to always be in the CD-ROM even after installation. While functional, the video capture was very choppy with distorted audio. Also, after recording a full 2-hour VHS tape, the software froze and crashed, losing the last 7 minutes. I got slightly better video and audio sync using another software package with the capture device. Possibly it is limited by my 8-year old CPU, but web video and DVD play flawlessly. Playing the VCR directly onto my TV, I did not see these analog distortions. Hopefully buying the standalone SD recording unit will eliminate the buffering, although they all have mixed reviews.

> 3 dayI used this product to digitize an old Betamax tape. I couldnt get the program working on a computer running Windows 8.1, but it did work on my Windows 10 computer. The preview window in the application wouldnt work, but that may be because I was using a Betamax player. Additionally, my computer did not recognize the USB device, and it was only after I clicked around in the program (I had success clicking the audio and video source input toggles) that the light on the device finally lit up and my computer recognized it. Overall, I have looked at several types of this product, and this one is the most reasonably priced and it does its job well, with a few minor issues that dont affect the recording process in any way. Though I cant say how well it does in digitizing VHS tapes, Im sure they record just fine. I would 100% recommend this product to anyone looking to digitize Betamax or VHS tapes.
