This does work. I am not a computer person and it took me days to figure it out. The instructions online are different than the instructions in the package and the information in the Q&A help is different than both of those. I feel this would be 4 stars if the instructions were cleaned up. Now that Ive got my video, Im trying to figure out how to edit it. That seems just as challenging. It might be easier to locate other software for that. :(

copied all vhs videos from my camera to my laptop. Have windows 10. Very easy to use. Make sure you plug everything in and turn on the camera/vcr before you launch the software. Then i just set the video setting in the software to AV to USB 2.0 and the sound to AV to USB 2.0 and that was it. Video and audio recorded great to my laptop. I had about 12 one hour videos and i recorded 2 videos back to back per day.

Directions were easy to follow, product worked well and I was able to transfer many tapes to digital easy and smoothly. Great product for the price.

Over the past few years, Ive been putting our old home VHS movies on DVDs and giving them as gifts to relatives at Christmas. The first year I did it, I paid someone to transfer it over....and it cost me $20/movie. In an effort to save money, I researched and settled on ClearClick. It works well, but it does take a long time to transfer over video. Even though its not the fastest, were happy with how it works and love being able to convert tapes to DVDs on our own.

I was hesitant to buy because of some of the reviews with Windows 10, but Ive not had any problems. The instructions say to make sure you have .NET Framework 2.0. Had 3.5 so no problem. You have to turn off the screen saver, which disrupts recording. When you edit videos to cut out sections, the Export function needs to replay whatever you are saving, so this can take some time. Converts to WMV or MPEG. Had a couple of VHS tables to failed the app when I tried MPEG, but they recorded as WMV just fine. Is a basic app, but it works just fine.

You dont need to be technical to setup and record. And if you have issues the customer service is great.

Set it up to transfer VCR over to DVD as all my VCR tapes are at the end of their lifes. Set up is really easy, no issues but I could not get a good burn to DVD on my computer. Tried everything I could think of with no success. Finally reached out to tech support. Very quick replies and over the course of a couple of days we were able to get the unit to burn to my DVD. Needed a slower burn rate which makes no sense to me but it worked. Now the issue is the quality of the burn. There is rather noticeable decrease in clarity. I give high marks to their tech support, top notch. Just be aware that you might not - your mileage may vary compared to mine - get the clarity that you would expect with this unit.

The VHS2DVD Wizard has worked fine for me. Theres been a few glitches. I tried to use the option of going from VHS straight to DVD and that didnt work, but I wasnt using a newer, faster computer. It went through the whole tape and didnt tell me. I wasted time and a DVD. It took a few attempts to get it to load and work correctly, but I was able to load and get it working the second time. The video quality is slightly less, or it could be from old VHS tapes. On fast movements in the videos, for a split second, I see lines at the location of the movement. It will pull copyrighted materials and make them digital. I am backing up old production movies that will go bad over time on VHS, so that grandkids can watch the animated films.

Got a box of old video tapes in your closet or basement? Turn them into DVD or digital video file!

(Important: A fully functional VCR or camcorder is required to use this product. Make sure your VCR and camcorder are in working condition before purchasing this product.)

The VHS To DVD Wizard software from ClearClick makes this easy by providing you with a step-by-step, "wizard" software format. Plus, there"s a simple user"s manual that you can actually understand, because it"s written in everyday language! Here"s how this conversion system works...

Plug in the included ClearClick USB Video Grabber into your PC. Your computer will install it automatically.

Step #3: Connect Your VCR.

Connect your VCR to your USB video grabber with the included RCA audio/video cable, and start playing a VHS tape in your VCR. Note: a working VCR or camcorder is required and not included.

Step #4: Capture Your Video.

Click "Capture" in the software and your video will start transferring to your computer! You can either capture your video to a digital video file on your computer so that you can edit it, or you can burn your video directly to DVD as you capture it.

Step #5: Edit and Burn Your Video To DVD.

After optionally editing your video with the software to remove unwanted portions, simply burn it to DVD with the "Create DVD" section. You"re done!
