> 3 daySet-up was very easy. You will need an Ethernet cable (not included) to connect the Switch to your router. I like that this product is green, so hopefully we will get some energy savings with it. The product did not decrease the operating speed of my computer, which was great. I didnt want to sacrifice and speed. This product comes as either 5 or 8 ports. Since the 8 port model is only ten dollars more than the 5 port model, it would probably be better to get the higher one, even if you dont think you need that many ports, because at some point in the future you probably will. It will make adding new hardware easier.

> 3 dayI used this to replace a suspect older unit of the same. It slowed down my connections considerably. Im taking it out and throwing it in the garbage since the return window has passed. This unit is green gas.

Greater than one weekIt is not a bi g deal however be advised that you MUST use a WIRED mouse and keyboard into this unit for it to work. If you think you will be able to use your wireless keyboard and wireless mouse with a USB connected transmitter you would be wrong. It was something we did not plan on and we were surprised ... so dont be surprised ... you need to use wired hardware as described above. Otherwise the unit works great and I am pleased and glad I made the purchase.

> 3 dayThe switch is ok. Ive connected this to my computers, smart home hubs, and NAS. The only problem I had was it only connects for computers. I havent tinkered with it that much. Ive connected this to my Dlink NAS and Samsung Smartthings. The LAN port didnt light up so Im assuming that its not connecting properly. I tried to connect those devices to my Dlink Router and it lit up. So now im confused why this is happening. I just connected those devices to my router and just connected my computers to this switch. Im a bit confused why this didnt work out of the box as indicated. Will have to tinker more or if Dlink support may help me with the connection problems.

21-11-2024Overall network speed increased. Replaced out dated 100 mb equipment with 1 gb wired connectivity. Works to my expectations .

17-11-2024I ordered 2 of these 8 port switches to replace my 3- 5 port switches. After mounting and wiring then new ones up and doing a total system reboot I was disappointed with extreme loss of speed in my network as well as with internet connection. I spent a couple hours trying to figure what the heck happened and nothing made sense. I pulled the 2 switches out and put my 3 back in, rebooted the system and got all my connectivity speeds back as well as internet speeds. A complete waste of time. Still not clear what happened as I never had this situation before with any switches. Sending back for refund.

Greater than one weekYoure not expecting your switch to remind you of its existence all the time. I even forgot about it, until Amazon sent me an email with the review reminder. Guess forgetting about the switch is the best criteria to rate it. * Pretty nice curvy designed unit (after all its your home, not an office rack full of network devices) does its job well being bought to upgrade the 100mbs home network to Gbs speeds. Ive bought the switch for ~$27 that seemed unbeatable. * Activity leds are pretty simple and neat having green for a Gb and orrange for 100Mb speeds (though almost not seen in sunny daylight, see the picture). Got it turned on all the time (the behaviour youd obviously expect from the switch). Got Internet router, WHS, NAS, GTV, XBOX, Home PCs all connected through it. Just put it under the table on the drawer, and connect it, thats all... Install & Forget...
