> 3 dayDoes what a switch should do. Small footprint for an 8 port, doesnt look too bad around my home theater, good deal.

> 3 dayThis switch works very well. However, you do need to understand networking principles when connecting it and your network or you will have issues with devices seeing each other, etc. It took me a couple tries and some close reading to understand why some devices werent seeing each other

> 3 daySwitches are pretty much a commodity these days. This one works fine. The bi-color LEDs to show which connections are 1G vs 100M is a nice feature.

> 3 dayI finally upgraded my network to Cat6 and Gigabit Switches. This switch is small enough to hide under the end table (Velcro pads under it). Easy connect and forget usage. I have 5 connections for the home entertainment and 2 cabled out for family visiting over their vacations. My expectations are met and in hindsight exceed therefore deserving of a 5 star rating.

> 3 dayUsing this for a small segment of my network to run a Synology DS411slim using RAID5. Keeps the pace steady at 60Mbps when transferring files for hours on end. Great little device with a super cheap price tag.

> 3 dayYoure not expecting your switch to remind you of its existence all the time. I even forgot about it, until Amazon sent me an email with the review reminder. Guess forgetting about the switch is the best criteria to rate it. * Pretty nice curvy designed unit (after all its your home, not an office rack full of network devices) does its job well being bought to upgrade the 100mbs home network to Gbs speeds. Ive bought the switch for ~$27 that seemed unbeatable. * Activity leds are pretty simple and neat having green for a Gb and orrange for 100Mb speeds (though almost not seen in sunny daylight, see the picture). Got it turned on all the time (the behaviour youd obviously expect from the switch). Got Internet router, WHS, NAS, GTV, XBOX, Home PCs all connected through it. Just put it under the table on the drawer, and connect it, thats all... Install & Forget...

> 3 dayI purchased a second unit after my two year old unit was killed by lightning. I was disappointed to see that it now is the same size as the 5-port model, even though the part number is the same. I like the layout and presentation of the rear ports much better on the previous version. Im sure cooling was also better on the previous version too. Anyway, as far as light use goes, its working fine. With the previous version, I was seeing 758Mbits/sec between two gigabit PCs with motherboard NICs. I plan to test this unit with the same benchmark later this week. Ill report back with my findings.

> 3 dayI started to work at home and needed more connections for the equipment I have to use. This was the perfect addition to our system. With the eight ports, we still have extra to add more if needed.
