D-Link Ethernet Switch, 5-Port Gigabit Plug n Play Compact Design Fanless Desktop Switch (DGS-1005G),Black

I have two of these switches in my home, I replaced some older ones I had to make my entire network 1 Gigabit. I plugged these in and had no troubles what so ever. My devices which are gigabit connected just fine as did my 100 megabit devices (Logitech Google TV) and my 10 megabit (MagicJack Plus) devices. I was pleased to see the switch could handle the various speed inputs. A lot of consumer switches will slow all the ports down to the slowest device connected which would have been bad for me as my magic jack is only a 10 megabit device. This one not only handled the different speeds but also the LED lights are different based on the device speed connected..A nice touch. They have been going strong now for months and have provided me with ZERO issues

Overall Great value. Very slight issues kept it from being 5 stars overall. PRO: So simple to install. Plugged it in and moved LAN cables over one at a time from existing 4-port Switch. Everything connected automatically. Very Compact design. Very reasonable price for the functionality you get. CON: Only 8 ports total. One is taken to connect to the router, so only 7 output ports are actually available. Made of plastic. Might last forever, but dont really know yet. Couple of ports not running at full Gbit speed, but that might be the devices rather than the Switch.

I got this about 2 weeks now. It worked right out of the box and super fast. I used LAN speed test and got read/write speed ~ 600Mb/s.

Works great! Purchased 2 D-Link on separate occasions connected both and they are both functioning fine-Thank you for offering this product

Switch so far working well. No problem setting up. Simply make the lan and wan connections and up and running. No issues.

So far works great.

Pros: -Looks nice and feels great in terms of build quality -Fast transfer speeds over Gigabit ethernet -Does not get hot while in use -Plug and Play, no extra installation required. Plugged in all of my additional devices and they were instantly recognized. Cons: -None. Misc: -Currently using a D-Link DIR-655 router with this and it is just awesome. Conclusion: The best 8 port Gigabit switch you can buy. No questions asked.
