Great simple product. Just plug it in and it works. Has a nice clean look as well. Use cat 6 cables to get the best data speeds.

Works perfect to add more Ethernet ports at a remote location of the house. I like having the ports on the back and the lights on the front. Much easier to keep cables neat on the desk.

I was using a 10/100 base switch. At max speed I was only getting ~8MB a second, which is pretty slow. After getting a PS3 and Jail Breaking it, it would take ages to copy one game from the computer to the system. In fact it was so slow that I kept using the original disk and just ripped it to the HD rather than deal with the ridiculously long copy over the network. I got this router mainly because all the systems and wires in my house were rated for gigabit speeds and I wondered if it would make a difference. Its like night and day. Copying from my RAID 0, 5 Drive system to my laptop averages 28MB/s, 15-22MB/s to the PS3, and 30-50MB/s to other systems in the house. The price was reasonable and with eight ports it supported all but one of the systems in the house. My advice, even if you dont do a lot of file coping between systems, this is still a good purchase. It was a 350% speed boost over my 10/100. Thats time you can put to use doing other things.

Flawless and easy. Only bummer is another little power pack. I got great throughput with cable mode going to switch first then input of router or the other way around.

I was looking for a desktop switch for my home network to connect my PCs, laptops, printers and network storage device. After researching for a while, I decided to buy this one. It is easy to use it, no manual interventions required to manage this switch. I am using this switch without any problems since one month. Its easy to connect my home PCs, notebooks and a shared printer across my home network. It works great and I never had any issues till now. I am definitely going to recommend it to friends.

Switch issues after 1 year 3 months. Causing IP collisions. Remove from network and now everything works as it did. Deduced it was this switch after the computer that it was connected to would wake from sleep. Network issues would instantly start when the D-Link switch limped into action. Replaced the D-Link switch with different manufacture and everything is good as a handshake. I think this will be my last D-Link product purchase. Between D-Links latest router changes (not for the better) and now their switch quality I will take my choices and business elsewhere going forward. Switching my choice of switch.
