Im impressed with this software. I use it for dictating interviews and reports. You have set it up at the start. It means reading around 20 minute worth of a known story. Once done, you get about 90 percent correct dictation out of the box. If you take the time to correct errors using the software, most of the common errors dissappear.

Dragon Naturally Speaking Premium 11 by Nuance / B003VNCROU I bought this software with one goal in mind - my intent was to couple the software with a solid voice recorder in order to transcribe spoken notes, reviews, and journal entries. My intent was to talk on the road my reviews and journal entries, load the sound files onto my computer at the end of the day, feed them into Dragon, and with a minimum of editing turn out the text so that I could then paste the result into an Amazon window and bang off for the evening. As you will see, this didnt work so well. Firstly, I did my research. The Nuance website has plenty of graphs on the best voice recorders for their software. I eventually went with the

Ive used every version of Naturally Speaking since V2 (c 1997). This version is somewhat more accurate, but has several bugs--disappointing from Nuance. 1. a random character gets added beyond the dictation. If I delete it, another character pops up. 2. selecting a group of words and dictating over them (if I do not want to use the correct function) often leaves letters of the old phrase or does not space properly. 3. occasionally the correction function appears to get stuck and generates an internal error. I have to close down the program and restart. 4. save user profile often closes the program 5. the playback function on the correction window is frequently misaligned with the text, unlike in prior versions where this was rare. 6. I have not been able to complete additional training--the system crashes prior to saving the new speech files. Overall, V11 is promising, but I would wait until a service pack or revised version is available

Itll take some getting used to using it, with the various command, although the initial training I had to do was not as cumbersome as I had expected to have gone through and it was capturing what I was saying without error. Tried in another environment and it was not as functional, although, it will come in handy for recording meeting notes.

First of all Im writing this review with Dragon. Right out-of-the-box with a little training I was getting far more accurate text than when I type. Not sure how to measure but mistakes are few and far between. When I first considered purchasing Dragon I was concerned with the several negative reviews. I was encouraged however with a response from Nuance indicating that they would refund the purchase. I went to the link and saved it just in case. Sometimes I do notice that it becomes very slow. Keeping an eye on my task manager I find that some other program like Carbonite is running at the same time. So I can simply kill that program and continue. I keep my CPU monitor open so that I can keep track of any conflicting programs that might be running. So my experience has been very positive and consequently I recommend it without reserve. Incidentally, I first installed it on XP and then upgraded Windows 7. Dragon performed well with both operating systems.

I have been using this software for two years and it works great better than everything before. The first time I used it I could not get it trained properly and I figure it out that the headset that come with it was not a good quality not the quality you need. So I tried training it with a $12 Plantronics headset that i purchased from Amazon and it started working perfectly for me. It can be very frustrating especially when you know youre speaking right and clearly. The software is a very good value for the price compared to the Professional version Before 11 you would have to purchase Dragon professional for over $500 to get these results. I would recommend this to anyone just be sure and purchase a better headset Nuance should be ashamed of themselves for selling quality software with a cheap headset Bad Business Decision Don West I have been using Dragon products since 1991 with good results

I purchased this with a great deal of trepedation. My hands are arthritic so it was time to get some help. The program works, but is hard to train. I do not know if typing or dictating is better. Over time I expect the program to function better. Their 90-day tech support is too limiting. The training period, and its overall functionality, will prove if my choice was right. Dragon sent an email for an upgrade to Version 12.0. The cost of said upgrade is $99.99 or $20.00 more then Amazon charges for their software. The upgrade policy is a free upgrade if purchased within thirty days of the newer version. Otherwise they charge one-half the cost of the software if purchased within 60 to 90 days. This is the first experience with this policy. Needless to say, as per previous reviewers stated their customer service is unacceptable. There is no recourse other than keep the current version. Would I purchase Dragon again? NO! Would I recommend them based on their policies? NO!

Ive read most of the reviews about Dragon naturally speaking. 11.5 premium. I have had my software for about three weeks now and I am impressed with its capabilities. Is the Dragon perfect? No. Does it do everything it said it would do? No. But then again during my lifetime, I was never perfect, and never did everything I said I could do. Would I recommend this program to a friend, you bet I would, I just recommend it to my daughter. The first few days I worked with the Dragon. I was relatively disappointed, everything seemed to be wrong with the way it worked. After looking at the blogs on the Internet. I realize that my Adobe reader active X was the culprit which I removed from my system and installed the free download Nitro, which does everything that active X.. At this time. Im very pleased with the system and getting more comfortable with it every day. I realize now that half the problems were mine and not the software, if you are willing to work with this program. It will do everything quite well. Im writing this review using it with no corrections. So there is probably some some errors in it. But hey before I got the system I could not spell very well and could only type with two fingers, so Im not complaining. Looking at the reviews. Some people love it, some people hate it but I think its all in the context of how hard you work at it, I think its a great program. Everybody recommended getting a quality microphone and headset but Im using the one that came with it and he gets the job done for me.

After researching which version of Dragon for my teenage son to use, we chose Version 11 (Old Version) and are very happy with it. It isnt perfect all the time, but its paired up well with the Plantronics 628 Stereo USB headset with noise-canceling microphone and works fine for his school work. It develops more accuracy with use, so as it learns to follow the users voice, it continues to improve. I wish that we had purchased Dragon sooner.

I was a little apprehensive when I read Dragon NaturallySpeaking for Dummies and it said not to expect much if you use Biblical phrases. I had ordered Dragon for the express purpose of writting Bible Studies so I thought that I had really made a mistake. But Dragon learns easily and it incorporated the vocabulary from previously written studies and seemed to know what word to use when I spoke it. I had to train it a little on Ezekiel but it got Jehovah and Hezekiah right off. All in all I am very happy with Dragon. But dont order the Dragon for Dummies book - it is about 6 versions behind. Also do not order the Sennheiser headset microphone that is listed in Amazon as it is for wireless (even the one that doesnt say wireless) and the connector does not work properly. Speech Recogition Solutions has the same microphone with a standard plus.
