19-11-2024On March 10th., of this year with the assistance of a good friend, and motivation from my brother, I predicated a blog site, presented to any and all American Citizens concerned with their future? My blog address is;([...]) I comment and share my opinion of the world as I see it today, ..Interesting? ..Possibly? As the product that I purchased from Amazon.com was the Dragon Naturally Speaking program, Version 11, Premium, I am not writing this review via my fingertips, i.e., typing, ..But rather, I am using my Dragon Naturally Speaking program Version 11 Premium. I had surgery on both of my wrists approximately a year and a half ago to correct the all too common condition,(carpal tunnel syndrome) surgeries that unfortunately and sadly did not provide a pleasing outcome. Consequently, I have little to no feeling in either hand, and no feeling whatsoever in my fingertips, accordingly when I learned, from my good friend that helped me establish my website, i.e., Blog Site, I was extremely anxious to give it a try? As I reported, I began blogging on March 10th., via my numb arthritic fingers, I ordered my Dragon Naturally Speaking program on March 16th. I received the program on March 23rd. and I began using it on the 24th. A day, that at least for me, to quote, Franklin D. Roosevelt, (a day that will go down in infamy.) Side Note, if you think thats over the top? Read my Blog. As to my opinion, and my rating, of my Dragon Naturally Speaking program, Version 11 Premium, the only reason I gave it five stars, was due to the fact that you did not provide me with six. As to my appreciation and satisfaction with the price and service I received from Amazon.com, I give you 10 stars. Thank you beyond words. Charles F. Chuck Roper, a.k.a. Crusader Rabbit.

> 3 dayDragon Naturally Speaking Premium 11 is a good product, but it is not for the faint of heart and it is not for damsels who distress. I bought this product for my girlfriend because she wanted to consider typing more e-mails and possibly journalizing but had no familiarity with the keyboard. Fortunately I am computer savvy so I was able to set it up for her and show her the basics of operation. Set up would have been extremely difficult of the non-savvy person. After loading, one needs to learn to master the Dragon. This includes their training practicing but it includes a lot more afterwards. It takes a long time to learn that one can just speak into the microphone which was included, but one would not necessarily want to. Because of the lag between what is said and what the Dragon types, it get the speaker all out of timing if they watch the screen while talking. And after one or more paragraphs, one can someimes forget how they phrased it originally when trying to decode the words of the Dragon. And the paragraphs will need to be decoded. I found out that the best way to work is sentence by sentence rather than paragraph by paragraph. Speak a sentence, and then turn off the dictation. Wait a minute and then see what the Dragon types. Then you should correct it before turning on the dictation and going on to the next sentence. It makes for a long and laborious process but it is better than trying to decode an entire paragraph. It takes some time with any sophisticated program to learn their ideosyncracies. And that is true with Dragon. It has its ideosyncracies (like how it begins each transcription with your first word) but they can be learned with perseverance. One needs to be prepared to persevere. If one trains the Dragon in a constant improvement mode, then over time it does get better.

> 3 dayThis is one of the best and cheapest upgrades I have ever done in more than 15 years of Dragon and 5 upgrades of this program. I have used Dragon since Version 1.0, and most recently Dragon Pro Medical V10. I work with it daily at work. My work requires me to dictate into a Chrome based online program. Newer Chrome versions made Dragon 10 Medical repeatedly crash. Looking into upgrades, I found the newest version would force me to buy the expensive medical version to dictate into Practice Fusion, and possibly into other applications, while Version 11 would basically put my dictation where ever I put the cursor, and would utilize the power of my Intel i3 desktop. For such a low price, I decided to gamble and just buy V11 in the Premium. Upgrade forced a new install, which was no big deal, but I was unable to import my custom dictionary and the 50 or so voice macros I have set up over the years and I had to import the list and retrain those words, and redo macros from scratch. Overall, this tiny upgrade was a great improvement and I have had no instability and noticeable improvement in performance. I did the install on one of the three computers I use for dictation as a trial and after a month of daily use, have installed this version on the other machines (Windows 7 and Windows 8) with similarly good experience.

> 3 dayI have used voice recognition software at work for the past 6 years and have really liked it. I wanted something at home to allow me to take notes while I read without stopping to write it down. Im in the medical field and had concerns about how well this would work with all the specialized vocabulary, but it works great. I wasnt about to spend 1500 for the professional medical version and Im glad I didnt. Its easy to use and overall money well spent for me. I only use the product for a specific purpose so I cant talk much about all the features, but so far it has worked great. My only complaint is that the headset is uncomfortable.

> 3 dayI dont know Which rating is fair.I could not install this program into my old computer. I think its probably the computers fault. So I never used this software. However, I did download the 13 version. I think the 13 version is phenomenal. Very accurate out of the box. Easy to use. IT service is very good. However, after about a 3 month period you have to pay $20 every time you call. This I did not know until the 3rd time I called. Every time I try to update my accuracy or my user profile I end up getting some sort of error. Im not sure if the error is due to some workings within the computer, the software, or perhaps my Internet. I have called 3 separate times to the IT helpers. They have been helpful and resolved my issue every time. Im curious however, the accuracy update seems to have some sort of a glitch. For my accent and voice type, the software was extremely accurate out of the box so I have simply stopped trying to update the accuracy. Everything works fine when I leave that option unexplored. I would give the 13 version 5 stars. It has some limitations but it exceeded my expectations.

> 3 dayHave been using DNS since v 2.xx. I know folks have had problems with DNS installations. FWIW, over the years I have had nothing but smooth sailing with DNS installation(s) and operation. Just upgraded from v9.5, which I have been using with great success up until I tried to move it all over to a WIN 7 based machine. DNS v9.5 was amazingly accurate right out of the box and with a little training it moved quickly into the level of indispensable tool. DNS v 11.5 is even better and faster than v9.5...and I am having a hard time believing that traiing can make it any better than it already it is - near perfect. I was looking to move to v 12.0, but found v 11.5 for $50.00 and could not see a justification for the additional 80.00-100.00 that v 12 would require. Very happy with DNS v 11.5. And, the price made it even better.

> 3 dayI saw so many great commercials about the program I decided to purchase it. The instructions are very intimidating and challenged me a lot. After trying to perform the functions for many hours I had to give up and contact customer support. The technician was very helpful in getting me through the set. Why those instructions could not have been included eludes me. I am up and running and still having glitches here and there but I am not giving up on the program.

> 3 dayIm writing this review using Dragon Premium 11. It seems to work pretty well for me. I can speak at a normal speed, and what I say is, I would say about 95% accurate. Im still trying to train it to understand my local jargon. To know when to capitalize formal names, or acronyms. Once I get the training part down Im sure I would give it another star. This is my second time using Dragon Premium. I recall using it many years ago, and the accuracy was terrible, but it is now much improved, and worthwhile for the money.

> 3 dayI love my Dragon. Im using it now. However I do have a speech impediment so I have to be very careful when Im using it and reread everything about three times. Dragon NaturallySpeaking Premium 11 is better and then later versions which seem to only type into Microsoft products. To fill out a form like this with version 12 I would have to use Internet Explorer whereas now I am using Firefox. This version will type into just about anything where you can type. They mustve cut a deal with Microsoft for the later versions so if you can still get this version I would highly recommend it.

Greater than one weekVersion 11 of Dragon NaturallySpeaking is working well for me. There are some new window control techniques which are nice and the premium version has more options for macros, etc. They appear to have changed the phonetic spelling somewhat so that it doesnt work quite as well. I.e., spelling the word very using the phonetic alphabet, I get something like Victor ERY more often, though its a subtle change. Overall Im pretty pleased.
