11.5 is the best version there is. v.12 is a mess and I never trust brand new software (v.13). Im an AT practitioner and train approximately 25 clients a year on Dragon. The only drawback is Win 8 and 10. It does not work well on 8 and I dont think is compatible with 10 at all. It is hard to find this version so I usually order more than one at once.

I love the fact that I dont have to type my papers, but the program took some getting use to. The supplied headphones did not work well because it distorted the speech to such an extent that the program got the words wrong. I then bought an Andrea stereo headset and this was 90% better. Now I plan to upgrade my program but havent done so because the manufacturer wants full price. I paid full price upon original purchase. The upgrade should give the consumer a price break. I would have updated annually otherwise. As it is Im holding back on this one.

This is one of the most amazing products I have ever used. Several years ago I spent a lot of time trying to get a voice recognition system to work. All I got was frustration and ended up forgetting about it. After I watched a commercial on television of how easy this product works I was skeptical, but thought for such a low price I would give it a try. I first bought the home version and was so impressed I upgraded to the premium edition within four weeks. I am now in the process of purchasing this software for many people in my company. It is hard to believe how much time I save by using this product.

First, the good news. This purchase qualified for the upgrade to version 11.5 and then 12. Now the bad news. Version 12 seems faster but more buggy. The dictation is fine, but it goes a little crazy when doing corrections. Sometimes, it will pick a phrase and keep overwriting it, not allowing me to continue the dictation from the end. At other times, choosing a selection from the correction window inserts choose 1, rather than the the chosen word. Most aggravating, though, is Nuances limitation on how you can use this product. DNS Premium and Professional will not work with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and Dragon will turn off the microphone if you try. It seems that they want this category of users to buy the Dragon Medical edition, at more that 5 times the price. I am not a medical practitioner, but I assist practitioner clients. I am unable to interface with their EHR systems. Further, when I go to EHR related websites, Dragon switches off. This is websurfing, not utilizing EHR. I am offended by this marketing ploy forcing a certain class of customers into a higher priced product. Given this limitation, I would buy a different solution, if it were available. Problem is that Nuance has a corner on this market.

I love the Dragon NaturallySpeaking system. I am in college currently working on a graduate degree and use my Dragon quite often. My only complaint so far would be that it does not play well with the reference section on Microsoft word. And sometimes does not play well with Microsoft office but, these occurrences are not frequent. I would recommend Dragon anyone who has a lot of typing to do.

I just upgraded from 10 to 11 premium and it seems to work great. it is faster, works better, and makes far less mistakes as version 10. I see a lot of people here complaining about it not working correctly and being buggy, I do see what they are seeing. I did deactivate my antivirus during the install, and my computer has all the windows updates needed before I installed. I also have updated all the installed software to make sure it was all up to date. I have a vista 64 bit system upgraded to windows 7 ultimate. I do know that ultimate has more compatibility than lesser versions. I use an hp system. I am also using the wireless version of the product running it into a usb 2.0 port. At first there were some small issues with the software, but after I used it for about 1 week they all seemed to go away. It seems like a nice upgrade from version 10 and things are better and smoother. I would recommend buying it. I only gave it 4 stars because the software is and always has been less than perfect. I think that it is going to be many years before this type of software works perfectly every time, so if that is what you are expecting you will be disappointed. Also, it takes some patience, so be prepaired to have some...

I had really high hopes for this. I type a lot and wanted to be able to capture thoughts by speaking rather than typing, which takes away from the brainstorming process. After literally hours of training, DNS still has trouble understanding me. It recognises some things okay but still has some problems with simple sounds like if I say a it puts e so spelling a word is more work than typing. Ive tried two headsets so far, so Im trying for a third which hopefully addresses that problem. [Update] Ive tried a new headset -

I saw so many great commercials about the program I decided to purchase it. The instructions are very intimidating and challenged me a lot. After trying to perform the functions for many hours I had to give up and contact customer support. The technician was very helpful in getting me through the set. Why those instructions could not have been included eludes me. I am up and running and still having glitches here and there but I am not giving up on the program.

Itll take some getting used to using it, with the various command, although the initial training I had to do was not as cumbersome as I had expected to have gone through and it was capturing what I was saying without error. Tried in another environment and it was not as functional, although, it will come in handy for recording meeting notes.

If Dragon Speak could handle my accent better, I would give it an 8 out of 10. Ive only had it a month and so we are both learning. It is easy to set up and to use but it seems to be a bit of a memory hog. Im running a 64 bit, Windows 7, 4G notebook and a Sound Blaster Headset. I primarily use it with Word, email and some online applications.
