> 3 dayThis program seems to work well enough, but I wouldnt, based on my experience, recommend putting it in your startup folder unless you are a real computer whiz. It will take over your computer and if you try to get it out of there it may cause a big mess. Thats what happened the FIRST time I tried to use the program. Then I found out you cant use both the English and the Spanish versions on the same machine. You cant use more than one copy of DNS on one machine. When I bought the Spanish version (after purchasing the English one), I found this out the hard way. The rep did not tell me though that if you just get the Spanish one, you can make a profile in English and Spanish using just that one. Things would have been a lot easier if she had. When I got my machine into a mess trying to put the Spanish version on, I called them and another rep essentially told me that you can only use one language at the time. The gist of it was from what he said, one language, one machine. This turned out not to be true. Later, I had to uninstall my English copy and it wouldnt uninstall properly, so I called them again. The rep sent me a link to download a removal tool which worked fine. That particular representative was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. While I had him on the phone I mentioned the bilingual problem and THEN I was told that the Spanish version will let you set up profiles in both languages. Well, I now have the Spanish version installed on my machine and it works fine for both languages. So, in my experience their customer rep department is batting 33%. Or however you say it. The program itself is not difficult to learn but it will perform SIGNIFICANTLY better if you have copious amounts of written documents and e-mails on your computer that have the same sort of vocabulary that you use. It goes out looking for these when you first train the program, and the more that is available, the better the program will recognize what you are saying. Otherwise, you have to train it more frequently.

> 3 dayWhen unable to type following recent shoulder surgery, I used Dragon Naturally Speaking to continue my writing workload for my job. While it does not read my mind, I will say the results were exceptional. My doctor recommended it, and said he had used this product following his shoulder surgery. Bet you cannot tell that I am talking, not typing! Be sure to place the mic very close to the corner of your mouth, and be sure to do the set up. I really like it better than typing because I think better when I am just watching the words show up on the screen. I have used it to fill out forms, spreadsheets, etc. all with great success. I learned how to mouse left handed which helped a lot.

> 3 dayIf you lose your CD you are done for. I am told by thier online store (they issue the dowload version for replacement) also general customer support ..that they offer no download for those who do not buy directly from them. I consider lack download service to ALL customers stealing in 2013. They wanted me to buy another CD. I am not kidding. Ive got the Amazon reciept in front of me. I dont like it but have to use it. I am forced to download an unaltered .ISO (illegal? hahaha!) to install it. I need it because I am a developemntally disabled adult who has trouble communicating day to day and staying on track. My mother is in an terrible situation requiring me to write Adult Protactive Services in Oklahoma; a conservative Right To Work state with social service job-soakers. Ive got to fight for my mother by writing officals and authorities. Thanks Nuance?? I will PIRATE your softwares from now on if I have to make the crack myself and there is no better help available.

Greater than one weekI only installed Dragon Naturally Speaking 11.5 on my laptop about four hours ago, and so far it has been a real time-saver. Actually, after doing some research I saw this software selling on Amazon for a lower price than the manufacturers. The plan was to buy Dragon Premium Version 11 then download the 11.5 update when it comes out. I was so happy when I opened the box, which actually has version 11 printed on it, only to find that the software is actually premium 11.5, so I dont have to worry about any updates. Since using Dragon for the past couple hours, I can see just how powerful this software really is. This is a real game changer and a serious time saver. Being from Trinidad and having the accent that I do, I was expecting Dragon to have a lot more problems understanding me, but after going through the training process, it is actually doing a pretty good job so far. Of course there are some mistakes here and there but not as much as was expected. I dictated almost 2000 characters in just a few minutes, and being a two finger typist, that might have taken me an hour more. This product has already saved me a lot of time, I have already taught it to pronounce my last name, which is something it could not do before. If this is already saving me time after only a couple hours, then I cant wait to see just how much time Id be able to save when its really grown accustomed to my speech pattern. Bottom line, I would definitely recommend Dragon premium 11.5 to anyone who wants to save some time or like me really cannot type very fast or at all, and of course this review was also written with Dragon version 11.5. Just a quick update, I really cannot stress how important it is to take time out every now and then to train Dragon to understand your voice and adapt to your style of speaking. This is something that I believe most people take for granted, for the week or so that Ive been using Dragon, I realize that Dragon understands me a lot better now having gone through a few training sessions. Trust me on this, after spending your hard earned money to buy the Dragon software. All you need to do is spend a little time every now and again to go through the training in order for you to be understood properly by Dragon. This is an amazing software, I have seen drastic improvements within just one week, I keep you posted.

> 3 dayI debated whether to buy this or the newer version, but after reading other reviews I didnt feel like the newer version would be that important for me. It ran well on my old pc that ran Windows XP, though it would be alittle slow once in a while. Runs great on my newer computer and after training it to my voice it does great. (I use it to transcribe recordings that I have already made, so i repeat what i am listening to over the earphones).

> 3 dayI have been using Dragon for 20 years. I would be without it – because I have had issues with carpal tunnel in both of my hands. I use it excessively for emails in Outlook, word documents and occasionally in Excel. It is wonderfully accurate – and the correction mechanisms are extremely good. I ordered this version because I have a Windows 7 PC – and this was the most compatible version that was made at the time. It works really well with outlook. The only issue that I have it occasionally hangs up. I then have to shut it down and start all over. But this has been an issue with Dragon since I first started using it many many years ago.

> 3 day11.5 is the best version there is. v.12 is a mess and I never trust brand new software (v.13). Im an AT practitioner and train approximately 25 clients a year on Dragon. The only drawback is Win 8 and 10. It does not work well on 8 and I dont think is compatible with 10 at all. It is hard to find this version so I usually order more than one at once.

> 3 dayI was unsure whether I would be getting the latest version of the product, or not, but when it arrived it was 11.5 and not the 11.0 version stated on the product information. I had resigned myself to not having the latest as I couldnt find a product listing for 11.5 version, but the CD is actually 11.5. Product seems nice, but I havent fully trained it yet.

Greater than one weekIm not sure Im any more impressed with this version than I was with earlier versions. Yes the speech recognition is better than version 2-10, but its still not the greatest thing since sliced bread. Great for creating the initial draft but I found that editing commands were frequently ignored or interpreted as additional text. Menu commands dont work at all with Open Office. Its useful, but not the works great, cant live without it product of the advertisements.

> 3 dayThe new version of Dragon - 11.5 Premium has major problems with Word Perfect v. X6. For instance, the correct that feature simply doesnt work. Ditto for certain other features. I have had it for a month, and talked to the Dragon folks shortly after it was installed. They said they were aware of this problem and would be releasing an update/fix. A month later nothing has been done. If you use Word Perfect, I would not buy this product until I could confirm that the problem has been fixed.
