I bought this unit as an assist with my DAW and my MIDI controller. It’s a bit of a task to get configured but the time invested is well worth it! You can configure it in so many ways outside of what I intended to use it for I might just buy one for my work computer as well.

Plugged in the stream deck right out of the box, downloaded the app and off I was. Easy to set up fun to use, tons of functions. I feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface of the uses for this device. Made my stream run much more smoothly. Looking forward to messing more with the settings and functions. 10/10 would recommend.

Great product, especially for streamers. Mainly use it to change between scenes for my stream!

TL;DR: great build quality; lacking some key features; and not supported on Windows 7, the most popular OS in the world. The buttons feel...mushy. If you can imagine a laptop keyboard with double the padding, thats essentially what the buttons feel like. Thats due to there being LCDs that youre pressing down, I suppose. The middle button also has that ridge to help you figure out your hand placement when not looking. The stand is sturdy, but I wish their kickstand wasnt so flimsy. Regardless, though, this thing is not going to budge when pressing the buttons. The Stream Deck itself is fairly compact so Ill probably just set it flat near my mouse. The housing is fantastic, as well. Last few things to note are in regards to the software: One YouTuber mentioned that it had macro capabilities. I did not see anything for it. I see hotkeys. Built in macro support would be amazing to avoid having to use Autohotkey. Im surprised that it does not support nested folders or at least some kind of automatic switching between custom main screens based on the foreground window. This is unfortunately why they have limited the number of shortcuts to around 210. -1 more star for lacking some of these very important features. Though Im sure theyll come out with support in the future. _____________________________ ***NOT SUPPORTED ON WINDOWS 7 MACHINES*** ***DO NOT INSTALL ON ANYTHING BUT WINDOWS 10*** Unfortunately the Windows 10 requirement didnt catch my eye. My fault, yes. But the decision to not support Windows 7 should be noted. Is it an old OS? Yes. But its still the most popular OS in the world. I would imagine more so for power users that would use a product such as the Elgato Stream Deck. -1 star. ***Accidentally installing Elgatos Stream Deck software on a Windows 7 machine will cause it to throw this error: The program cant start because api-ms-win-core-winrt-string-l1-1-1.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. It will also give nearly the same error when trying to open OBS. SO DO NOT INSTALL ON A WINDOWS 7 MACHINE. I originally had called Elgatos support (which is awesome, by the way!) and thats when it got pointed out to me. This was all my mistake so no more additional stars off for that. Oh well, fortunately I have a cheaper alternative that does the same thing without physical buttons.

This can set up so many useful commands and I love that you can chain them together to do multiple things at once! My favorite feature is that you can change the icon images to whatever you want!

Im hoping to use the Stream Deck XL as part of a system to run a homemade Communication Device for aphasia. According to Elgato, only Windows 10 pro 64 bit (expensive) and Apples OS-X (even more expensive) are officially supported. So Im searching for alternative OSs. The only W 10 pro 64 bit computer that works for me is great for learning the Stream Deck XL, but that computer is somewhat old and weighs over 30 lbs. What I would like to find is a laptop that includes Windows 10 pro 64 bit, or some way to run the Stream Deck XL on a Raspberry 4 pi. I like the Stream Deck XL a lot. Aphasia, you may finally be meeting a worthy foe.

I thought I would try this for my workflow in my office thinking it’s for streamers I may not like it but it is a daily used device and saved me hours of work. Amazing for teams and Cilli commands !

I upgraded from the 15-key older version to the 32-key version and I am even happier than I was with the original. I use it primarily with Visual Studio 2022 and also for watching stock and crypto prices on the keys. Yes, it can do that! This thing is so versatile thanks to its software and plug-ins, the community is great at developing a wide range of plug-ins that make this controller able to do just about anything you can think of. Its great and well worth the price.

From Elagato via Corsair, the Stream Deck automates tasks and is extremely versatile. It has a fairly simple interface that is rapidly learned, and a wide variety of pre-built profiles for your favorite PC operation or gaming task. I use it to control Spotify, and have assigned a number of my favorite playlists to launch with the press of a single button. I can increase/decrease volume, pause, skip, tag as favorite, and more. Some of my most common PC apps are shown on the first photo, including Photoshop, Chrome, Ryzen Master, Acronis True Image and many others. The XL is the model with the most programmable buttons. For flight simulation, this device is extremely handy. I can execute a number of repetitive flight tasks again with simple button presses, instead of grappling with mouse-clicks, or purchasing pricey add-on sim hardware. Other users that stream on the web use this device to control their online streaming sessions, and rave about it. Im very satisfied with this device, and use it daily, it makes many of my PC tasks much simpler and faster. YouTube has many many videos to help you learn your way around this handy gizmo!
