This is a review of the Elgato Stream Deck (USB 2.0) (Measures 118 x 84 x 21mm or 4.6” x 3.3” x .8”, is approx.. 6.7oz and is compatible with Windows 10 (64 bit) and macOS 10.11 or later.) Summary – While I am not using this for the intended purpose, I love this thing. I essentially have it programmed for my 15 most commonly used applications instead of for streaming applications. Unlike the competition, this one has amazing LCD keys while the others are limited to backlit keys. Being able to change each photo key to whatever I want them to be is great and the clarity looks very nice. Since this gets its power from the USB port, there is no extra power cable to worry about. The best part is that I do not need to use any of the Elgato capture cards to use this. It would just integrate very easily with them if you need to. Key features. 15 LCD Keys – You can customize each key separately. Each LCD uses 72 x 72 pixels. (.jpg or .png is recommended, but should also work with .bmp or .xpm) You can also adjust the brightness of the keys within the software. I have used various sized photos up to 512 x 512 with no problems at all. So far it appears you can go larger in size if you maintain the ratio. (Height and Width being the same size.) The keys have a nice feel to them and it feels like a semi hard gel I guess. It is not a hard plastic feel. The button has a noticeable depress sensation when being used is smooth and I do not have any issues with it not working quickly. This has been very reliable so far. The stand is pretty straight forward. Does not seem to be overly sturdy, but would be considered sturdy for a general use in where the stream deck does not get moved around a lot. The stand also has several notches so you can adjust it to the angle of your choice. If you want to use without the stand, you can do that as well. If you need to, this has the ability to do two functions at the same time with the touch of a single button. Just drag a second function over onto the same key to do this. You can link actions to Elgato Game Capture, OBS, Twitch, Twitter, TipeeeStream, and others. The included software is very straight forward and easy to use. The software allows you to fine tune everything and gives you a preview of your keys as you work on the setup – changes. The software allows you to use websites, launch programs, use hotkeys, create folders to have separate categories such as games, multimedia controls, etc. The software can be setup to auto update which is nice. Taking one star away as the cable should be separate. They could have designed this with a normal micro usb port. This way we could use our own custom length cables. The way it is now, the cable may be too long or short for what you need and if you damage the cable in any fashion, the unit is pretty much shot unless you pay to get it rewired. As with all my reviews, I will update this review should this develop any issues with ongoing use.

This product looks great. I love the fact you can make custom icons and painlessly upload them. There’s a custom Pac-Man splash screen that makes this way more fun. I recommend this 100% for the price/features

I knew Stream Deck’s were a requirement for gaming streamers. What I learned though is it’s a tremendous office productivity tool. I use one-click buttons to open frequently used websites and company tools daily. Setup is easy as the app makes adding buttons seamless. Highly recommend!

The sticker price might hurt, you will find it being used constantly regardless if your a Streamer, Gamer, Artist, You name it. Dont let the number of buttons (to many or to less) scare ya. Highly configurable and has so many uses. While it lacks some of the higher functions of Touch Portal, It gets the job done!

The unit does a great job, its just annoying that it cannot simply do basic interaction. For example, I use Voicemeeter which is best controlled by the Macro Buttons application. Thats nothing more than on-screen buttons ; so itd be nice if you could simply scope the button to the on-screen area and emulate a tap/click, as an example. Hot keys work, but theyre buggy and not reliable. Once I downloaded the specific plug-in for Macro Buttons it worked great. Just not a fan of having to install different plug-ins rather than tap/click emulation which would work with any program.

I think this thing is rather expensive for what it is but I had mega amazon points so I decided to get it. I hang out with my friends in discord and stream with virtual cams from OBS and I sometimes stream on twitch. I got this mostly just for gits and shiggles but Im impressed with what it can do out of the box with a few quick installs. You need to go to the website to install the Streamdeck software and in there you can go to more actions and install some little plugins to execute on the buttons. Its obviously great for OBS interactivity with scene switching etc but it also has some cool tools like setting up a sound board, voice changers, you can monitor some things straight from the little buttons like CPU and set up hotkeys or text buttons. You can also create folders so if you press a button you can have more things mapped inside so it extends the functionality beyond the number of pads in whatever version you own. If you dont mind the price tag I recommend it if you want to customize any of your workflows on your computer or have some quick buttons within reach to help out with your streaming or editing content.

Im using this for streaming on Twitch, and I am just in love with this little device. It makes it so much easier to trigger all kinds of things, from sound effects, to visual effects, to scene changes. You can turn the mic on and off. Mainly I am using it for stream where I want small graphics or video clips to pop up on the screen at relevant times without having to memorize hotkeys or go into OBS while streaming and find a bunch of stuff in the list. Setting up the keys seemed pretty easy, I watched a Youtube tutorial or two though for ideas, such as doing the multifunction keys to do something like trigger a hotkey, trigger sound effect, pause, trigger same hotkey to toggle a function on and off. I found it very useful, and my only regret was not buying the one with more keys! For this one, you can have multiple profiles so youre not limited to the number of keys, though.
