> 3 dayI integrated mine to organize a myriad of keystrokes in Logic Pro, a digital audio workstation. The Stream Deck allows for these controllers to be aggregated in tiers under a general heading. With a touch or two you can access a multitude of computer functions quickly and effortlessly. It does take some setup time on your part to program the device to your specifications, but afterwards, it’s very time saving.

> 3 dayDidn’t use the small one too often until I started using voice mod. So small I needed an upgrade for more space. Great upgrade to my battle station.

> 3 dayFirst off, Im not a gamer or a streamer. Im a software developer looking to streamline my workflow. My company uses Microsoft Teams and Ive been looking for a way to reduce my anxiety when participating in meetings. Specifically controlling mute, and camera without fumbling for shortcut key or moving cursor over toolbar button on a window that is on a different monitor. When I saw that there was an ElGato plugin for MS Teams, (and that there was a sale) I thought it wouldnt hurt to try. Unfortunately, the plugin was a disappointment. Even after setting and resetting the api key from the MS Teams app, the buttons would never activate the Teams action. I was able to manually create a hotkey that could do the mute action, but I couldnt replicate the lighted icons, or other reaction button that dont have a Teams shortcut. Another feature that I disliked was that this is a wired device. No wireless option. And, it has to be connected directly to a port on the computer. This was a bummer for me because now i had to worry about the cord knocking things over when I move the device around. I stand for my meetings and I want to be able to hold the device in my hand while talking. I really wanted to like this device. Its a clever device with oled screen under the buttons and ability to assign profiles to an application that would switch automatically. However I couldnt justify spending this amount for something that doesnt do what was promised, while also adding another obstacle to my workflow. Edit: increasing star rating because the faults I stated are not caused by the device. A little more research on my part could have saved me some time.

> 3 daySignificantly better than I expected it to be. Having this Stream Deck is such a quality of life improvement when it comes to streaming. Also, it actually feels high quality. The customization options are amazing and will greatly reduce the amount of time spent preparing each stream I have. Now, I only have to hit 3 buttons on my Deck and im good to go. Users with only one monitor will benefit from this the most I believe as with this stream deck, you no longer need to alt-tab out of your game to change things on OBS. You also dont have to worry about setting keybinding for OBS and accidentally hitting them while youre live. Users with Multiple monitors will also benefit from this as well. I personally have two monitors and still found this Stream Deck amazing. Being able to do pretty much everything stream related on my Stream Deck is the best and its so nice that I no longer need to do stuff on my second monitor. I can finally only use it for showing chat.

> 3 dayIll admit, I got this thing as a bit of a toy. My gaming keyboard has buttons on it I can map to macros to run xsplit scenes etc. But man, I am more than impressed. PROS I dont think it feels cheap at all. I dont care that it is once screen underneath, nothing bleeds. Button presses feel nice and it sticks firm to my desk. Feels really nice for its price point. It also does so much more than I thought, I can see myself spending hours customizing this thing. Some people have mentioned that it doesnt support that many things. I went in to the elgato plugin section and found that theres actually quite a ton of stuff this things supports. I can link it to my hue lights, my twitter, directly to twitch, xsplit etc. Def more things than buttons. I also cant wait to start making some custom buttons. Im a visual person and I find this to be very cool. Also, I know all this is designed for desk streaming... but I could see making a travel rig out of this and my laptop so I can bring three keylights with me and make some really great, fast, portable lighting setups for interviews and such. Cons -The main con for me is I wish they had a USB port to connect any cable to it, rather than a dedicated cable. The length is ok for me, but if the cable breaks the device is essentially dead. -If you are hardcore streaming, you probably have someone controlling things for you, or need the one with more buttons. This mid level one def is somewhat of a comfort feature, and not - necessary. Anyway, Im really glad I bought this thing. Its surprisingly more useful and fun than I thought it would be. For the price I think it is an innovative little tool.

> 3 dayThis was purely a lark. I wanted a secondary keyboard. The idea was simply to assign macros to keys and have them fire off when I wanted to switch desktops, etc. This little guy goes wayyyy beyond that. Caveat: I dont game, I dont stream, and Im a software engineer. The Deck presents itself as a HID to the kernel. This makes life easy. There are some very brilliant folks who have created communications layers for whichever language you prefer. I went with Python. Within a day of tinkering I had a device that dynamically shows which applications are available on which desktops and can navigate and focus them with a single press. It can flash a single button red to let me know that something critical has gone wrong somewhere. And, my favorite bit, I have a screen dedicated solely to control over my office. I can change my Hue scenes, control my speaker volume, and switch to night mode in a very elegant and slick way. I cant speak to the software experience on a Windows machine. But in the penguin world, its a game-changer for productivity so long as you have the skill and time to invest in making it yours.
