Greater than one weekNon-streamer here, but I use it for various shortcuts and to control things like Discord, Foundry, and my monitors back-lights. Each button is a small video screen that changes as you select things, so setting up nested folders and additional pages gives you the ability to drop in as many commands as you could want. The software is exceptionally easy to navigate and set up. If the device or program you are looking to control has a plug in on the official store, then setting up the controls is as easy as dragging and dropping. I set up a few custom multi actions to get to certain deeper settings on my computer, get to particular websites I dont care to bookmark, and to launch multiple programs at the same time. There are a lot of practical uses for it outside of streaming control.

> 3 dayIm normally to lazy to write Amazon reviews, but Im so impressed with this thing I felt obliged... First of all, Im not a webcaster, Im a video editor and I bought this to speed up my workflow and try to fix some of the limitations of the keyboard shortcuts in my editing software. But now that Ive started programming it, theres no application Im not using it for. It makes EVERYthing easier. Have a set of folders/documents you open all the time? One button press. Frequently visited website? One button press. It even has a Multi-Action setting so you can set a series of tasks for one button. Arranging buttons is drag and drop and you can not only make different profiles depending the application youre using but you can make folders within those profiles so in reality you have far more than 32 buttons per profile to work with. Also, you can program each profile to automatically come up when youre using its respective application so you dont have to be constantly manually switching profiles. It has Keyboard Maestro integration so if youre a macro person it makes it even more powerful (Im yet to figure out how to get KM to trigger something on the StreamDeck-- not sure if its possible, but programming the StreamDeck to trigger Keyboard Maestro actions is easy. Also, a tip for others who arent webcasters, the actions menu on the side is full of commands associated with webcasting apps, and its a bit cluttered... it took me awhile to realize I could hide all the actions Id never use using the dropdown menu on the top right. Its also really well made, very solid feeling and the buttons feel good to the touch. The display glows pleasantly (and brightness is adjustable) and each icon on the display can be customized. I went crazy and designed my own icons in Photoshop, but they also have an online key creator where you can use preset icons and upload your own images. Im totally blown away how well designed this thing is--- both with the device itself and the software you use to customize it. The only complaint I might have is that the introduction video it links you to when you first open the software seems pretty specific to webcasters and could do a better job of explaining different programming options... but it was super easy to figure everything out on my own and do a little YouTube research. But this is a teeny complaint. I cant recommend this thing enough.

> 3 dayIve been using a 6-key Stream Deck for a while and needed more keys but was concerned about where to place it in my crowded studio setup. So, I built a small aluminum shelf that attaches to the adjacent keyboard stand and voila, its perfect. Easy to program and always reliable. Oh, and as for my old 6-key unit. I placed that in the studio live recording room where it functions as a remote control. Super cool!

10-06-2025TL;DR: great build quality; lacking some key features; and not supported on Windows 7, the most popular OS in the world. The buttons feel...mushy. If you can imagine a laptop keyboard with double the padding, thats essentially what the buttons feel like. Thats due to there being LCDs that youre pressing down, I suppose. The middle button also has that ridge to help you figure out your hand placement when not looking. The stand is sturdy, but I wish their kickstand wasnt so flimsy. Regardless, though, this thing is not going to budge when pressing the buttons. The Stream Deck itself is fairly compact so Ill probably just set it flat near my mouse. The housing is fantastic, as well. Last few things to note are in regards to the software: One YouTuber mentioned that it had macro capabilities. I did not see anything for it. I see hotkeys. Built in macro support would be amazing to avoid having to use Autohotkey. Im surprised that it does not support nested folders or at least some kind of automatic switching between custom main screens based on the foreground window. This is unfortunately why they have limited the number of shortcuts to around 210. -1 more star for lacking some of these very important features. Though Im sure theyll come out with support in the future. _____________________________ ***NOT SUPPORTED ON WINDOWS 7 MACHINES*** ***DO NOT INSTALL ON ANYTHING BUT WINDOWS 10*** Unfortunately the Windows 10 requirement didnt catch my eye. My fault, yes. But the decision to not support Windows 7 should be noted. Is it an old OS? Yes. But its still the most popular OS in the world. I would imagine more so for power users that would use a product such as the Elgato Stream Deck. -1 star. ***Accidentally installing Elgatos Stream Deck software on a Windows 7 machine will cause it to throw this error: The program cant start because api-ms-win-core-winrt-string-l1-1-1.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. It will also give nearly the same error when trying to open OBS. SO DO NOT INSTALL ON A WINDOWS 7 MACHINE. I originally had called Elgatos support (which is awesome, by the way!) and thats when it got pointed out to me. This was all my mistake so no more additional stars off for that. Oh well, fortunately I have a cheaper alternative that does the same thing without physical buttons.

> 3 dayOverall a great product. I dont use for video or streaming-related stuff, I just use it as a generic macro-key auxiliary keyboard. First the pros: - Solid feel, it doesnt feel cheap (it shouldnt, because its not cheap :)) - VERY flexible configuration. You can add any image you want as an icon. Per-application profiles that automatically switch when that application is active give you almost unlimited utility. - Can use with the stand or without. Cons: The reason for 4 stars are a few minor things. - as others have mentioned, the cable could be a little longer. - The built-in icon set is rather underwhelming, this is offset by how easy it is to add your own images, but thats still a lot of work if you have dozens and dozens of buttons. - The drivers and firmware need a little work on how they handle staying connected to Windows 10 PC that hibernates. If you connect it to your computer via a powered hub, then when the PC hibernates, then the device stays on. If you connect it directly to a USB port on the PC, then it also powers off the device, but when the PC resumes from hibernate, the driver does not reestablish the connection to the Stream Deck, and it sits there with the generic boot up screen. Id probably change my review to 5 stars if this one thing was fixed. Without it, I must constantly unplug and then plug back in the Stream Deck.

> 3 dayI love this tool for streaming. It makes it very easy to control my stream. It can but customized with the Elgato software that keeps getting updates and makes the whole experience even better. It has several different heights that you can switch between to find what works best for you. My only gripe with the Stream Deck is that the rubber pads on the bottom of the stand that stop it from moving could stand to be a little thicker and more grippy. I find myself having to clean them off every so often to stop my deck from slipping around.

08-06-2025Since covid hit, much of my day is spent with video conferences. I bought this to more easily control the video conferencing software (e.g. hand up, mute, camera on/off), control lights, switch audio between speaker/mic and headset and controlling certain apps. On macOS Big Sur the software runs great. It has a number of integrations out of the box (e.g. for elgato products, but also spotify) but its also easy to create custome buttons to start apps or trigger hotkeys in apps. Switching sound input/output on macOS required some scripting. Software is often the weak point for this type of accessory and elgato has done very well. This is one most polished products I have purchased for a long time. Really the only downside is price.

> 3 dayEasily one of the best investments you can make if you truly care about live streaming. One of the main problems I was having before getting this was using hotkeys in OBS. I either couldnt remember them all, the hotkeys I wanted to use wouldnt be picked up by OBS unless it was the active window (not good for using while in a game), or was too simple and could be accidentally triggered. This is by far the best solution out there for controlling your computer and controlling OBS. Its built in screen allows you to set custom icons to easily see what each button does at only a quick glance. For example, my OBS scene switching buttons have an example picture of the actual scene on it, making it quick and easy to see which scene is which. On top of that, unlike other custom keyboards that can only press hotkeys, this unit and its accompanying software control OBS directly, meaning no more worrying about certain hotkey combos not working. And with the added folder system, you can have way more buttons configured than you could with a similarly priced custom programmable keypad. One feature Ive used constantly the Twitch clip button. Instead of hoping other people in stream clip it, you can make a clip of what just happened, all with one single tap of a button. Makes capturing those epic moments in a live stream much easier. The streamlabs integration is also might useful, as you can now run credits or spin the wheel without needing the web interface open The flexability and versatility of this thing is unmatched. Well worth the investment for streamers.
