I bought this device because I had the ambition to make videos and eventually stream on Twitch. Ive got to say, I had NO IDEA how useful this thing is. Without even scratching the surface, this device allows you to launch desktop applications with one click of a button, change your voice in-game and troll online players, switch scenes on Twitch, open websites, change the lighting in your room, and much more! Whether youre looking to stream or not, this device will become your new best-friend. I cant believe I let this sit on my desk overnight without taking it out of its packaging the day prior. I thought I would wait for my other packages to arrive... that was a mistake. Had I known the power of this thing, I wouldve unboxed it immediately and began setting it up (USB 3.0 connection). The only Con that I can think of so far through my limited experience of only having the stream deck for is that when I boot my computer, the voice-changer option to hear myself is automatically turned on so it picks up any background noise coming from my speakers until I manually turn it off. Not a detrimental issue, and Im positive that I can fix that somewhere if I just try to actually find the solution. :) Overall, I recommend this product. It will allow you to be much more creative.

I absolutely love the concept and execution of it. Im just a bit disappointed at the performance, it has some lag on many buttons and it sometimes freezes. Im a Mac user and still enjoying it quite a lot. It takes some conscious effort to implement it into your workflow.

This thing is great, hard to believe its the price it is, in many ways it makes itself far more useful than more expensive equipment. It is good for streaming, no doubt, and allows streamers (or just people recording videos) to do things like camera cuts, transitions, whatever, very easily and naturally, without having someone else running the board for you, which lets face it, 99% of streamers cant afford that sort of overhead to hire board ops, and friends only show when theyre able. The automatic links with OBS and other programs are definitely useful. However, even though its made with streaming in mind and those are the programs its most tied to, it can do anything that can be hotkeyed, which is an awful lot, and unless you have a great memory, itll save you a ton of time switching between programs. I believe you can even set specific profiles to come up with specific programs, so that you have the right buttons. I have my home screen split up into sub-folders for different programs - one for OBS, another for a DAW, a third for Photoshop, and Im working on filling out a fourth for general purposes, figuring out whats most useful and not worth doing with something else - but I have an unusually large amount of button options, with extras on my keyboard, mouse, and a ShuttlePro v2 for Adobe Premier that has a ton of buttons of its own. If I had less, Id have already filled up more of the stream deck. And it just speaks to how huge it is that Im only less than 1/3 of the way through what I can do - and even then I think I can load entirely different setups, if I ever need to. I cant even begin to guess at how much time this thing saves, its totally worth any time it can take setting it up, which is really more about figuring out a good layout and plan, because the software makes it easy. If you arent photoshop-savvy, you can make icons through their site, although you can also make your own and upload them to be made into icons as well, which I find especially useful for OBS, so rather than having generic scene icons I can have mock-ups of the layout it would bring up, and have a green background if its the current live camera. Meanwhile, I also have the stream button set to be a gif, just so its not easy to accidentally stream without knowing it - thered be a flashing button in my face. All that with minimum effort.. Seriously, dont tell them, but people would probably pay $500 for this thing.. and dont listen to anything about poor quality. It has a plastic stand, but it feels extremely solid, runs very quickly, absolutely zero issues. If people have issues it is more than likely their computer. I wish I was as happy with every purchase and found it as useful as I did this.

I am an accounting consultant. I use Excel, Access, and other Microsoft products as well other specialty software. I use this device for passwords, opening databases and spreadsheets, one button for copy and another one for paste (dont know why a standard keyboard does have one button for each) and I have also programmed hotkey functions using ctrl or alt or F keys. And yes, you can create an undo button. It is limited in how many keystrokes you can do but you can make it work. It has changed my world!! Software loads like a dream and configures easily. Even gives you an easy tool to create your own icons for the buttons. Simply the best thing ever invented since the wireless phone. One more thing - you can also have multiple pages which means you can program more than just 15 buttons! Also, the stand that comes with this device does not work well, I suggest ordering this stand to use with it: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B09YY1NSBX?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details It is like it is made for it.

I am using the Streamdeck XL for controlling functions of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 aircraft and other related programs. It works great for this application. The software that programs the Streamdeck is very easy to use and the paper manual that comes with the unit is well written. Very high build quality for the device, and it’s packaging.

PROTIP: I could NOT find where to plug in the cable. There is an indent in the back. To one side is a port for the cable. Literally looked everywhere and didnt see it. Its very well hidden. I had to do some Youtube surfing to finally intuit where the plug goes. If youre not a podcaster or other creator do you NEED this? No. Do you WANT this? Yes! I just started assigning keys to it as I went through my day and am already starting to spill onto my second page of shortcuts (in a day). So many things that I can just fire up instead of having to find my cursor and click the right button. Yeah, its a luxury. No doubt...but dang...its so convenient and works great with a Mac! I love the feel of the keys and, honestly, theyre so very responsive. Theres a lot to love here. Now? Lets see if it holds up!

12/22 Update - nested folders have arrived. Upgrading stars to Chuck Norris status. First of all, this is not just a stream board. If you purchased it for that then be happy because it can do a ton more. If you are advanced and want a slick UI, great firmware and ease of use this is perfect. BUT it can be way better. Disclaimer, if you are a hot key master then this isnt for you. I want your memory powers though. New deck arrived. I totally didnt realize this thing didnt have nested folders. Limited to 210 actions sounded big but math can be hard :) Anyway I pitched the idea to Elgato to allow toggling layouts either on the board itself, which does take up a keys that would have to be dedicated across all layouts, or a quick toggle in the UI itself. For now I just have to save multiple layouts and load what I need for what Im doing. I quickly used up all 15 to open folders. But after I went into my first folder I created on the main board I knew I was only going to go so far. For example, I was hoping for a full 14 key layout for Premier, some of the keys within the layout are great to do quick hot keys, using hot keys in combination with other programs and folders, like bridge within so you dont have to use the back key, then folders dedicated to cuts, effects, color correction, etc... There are so many effects within each you can easily smash a new key to open up 14 new combinations of hot keys. What I really loved about this was the easy to use UI, slick board with a very manageable amount of keys which is what I hated about the larger ones. I never wanted a 48 macro board, just not for me. This board is perfect in size not to small not to big. This board can be so so so much more. Im hopeful they change the name to Everything Deck and not just Stream. People have no idea how awesome this thing can become. And not having Youtube Gaming even with version 1.2.0.1157 at the time of this comment is strange. But Im hopeful the profits earned will be invented into the UI. Which I now understand why they named it Stream Deck. Marketing to the streamers was a smart play that can earn them some hefty cash needed to advance this board. I imagine a lot of people purchasing this board want the nifty scene toggles, meme launch, mute, record, screenshot, etc... But man o man please buy this up so us advanced users can benefit from more upgrades. It goes way beyond streaming. If youre on the fence dont be. Because what separates this from others is the investment into the quality of the board, easy interface and future enhancements that the regular macro boards just dont provide. At lease none that Ive seen.

I have nothing negative to say about this thing, at least, once the software installed (version at the time kept failing, had to install an earlier version then upgrade). It was worth that little bit of hassle though. I stream and work from my PC as well doing tech support. You can set it up to automatically switch profiles depending on programs being run. As soon as I run my communcation software for work, it loads my work profile. No more repetitively typing out the same thing over and over, hotkey quick text. Done working, lets stream, Primary purpose, w/ 1 button, can have it start the game, change the stream title, tweet it out, whatever. They have been constantly adding new functionality to it as well. Honestly cannot recommend it enough and plan to upgrade to the XL model when I can, but Im poor and they are NOT cheap. If pressed for a bad point, the stand for the 16 button model could be better I suppose.

I cant believe it took me this long to find this product. I cannot live without it. You can setup buttons to do just about anything. I can help with Streaming of Content using OBS and various other similar tools. I wrote an application for this product so I can control my house lights via the Universal Devices ISY product. I can launch apps and keep macros on keys of phone numbers and email address. If you can think of it, it can do it. Recently I setup macros to access the Windows Desktop features, did you know Windows 10 had multiple desktops built into it? So many things you can do, if you can imagine it, the device will help you do it.

Stream Deck puts 15 LCD keys at your fingertips for ultimate studio control. Simply tap to switch scenes, launch media, tweet your feats and more. Personalize your keys with custom icons or choose from hundreds, and get visual feedback every time you execute a command. With Stream Deck, maximize your production value and focus on what matters most: Your audience. Interface Integrated USB 2.0 cable.
