21-11-2024No issues pairing it to SmartThings. The newer way of adding a device by scanning a QR is nice. No issues controlling the outlet once paired.

> 3 dayAs the headline says: It has a power button on top. Its very hard to see it. If you dont press the button - you cant pair it to the controller. Once I figured out the damn button, it was easy to pair and worked fine with my smart things controller gen 1.

> 3 dayI dont use many Zwave type switches but ADT will only interface with Zwave. These connected to my ADT alarm system immediately. I like the form factor better than the plugin modules and theyre weather resistant to boot.

> 3 dayI have over 25 z-wave devices in my home connected to Alexa. Either directly through Alexa or via an Alexa Skill (SmartThings, Phillips Hue, Arlo). This is the first GE Enbrighten device I have purchased. It is connected to both SmartThings Apps. However, it does not connect to Alexa. Thus, no need for me to keep. I will try again tomorrow and if I cant get it to work I will have to work. If COVID-19 wasnt around I could probably call customer service to see if they can assist. Unfortunately, that is not an ootion and I dont have the patience to wait until this pandemic is over. I need something now.

> 3 dayI always seem to need more of these switches around the holidays as we put up more electrical decorations. I add these switches to my ADT Pulse security system and have it turn on/off the lights according to the schedule I set.

Greater than one weekWhen will I learn. Ive used other GE SmartThings compatible devices before, switches, indoor/outdoor outlets mostly. Sometimes they connect right away sometime they take multiple repeated attempts, and in the case of this device, it never was recognized by my SmartThing hub. My recommendation is to stay away from GE devices , I tried this one in desperation, its the only device of this type I could find for my desired use. Other Z-Wave compatible brands have been excellent, they just dont carry the variety of devices I need, come on Samsung, get some devices on the market!

> 3 dayI have ordered 14 of these units since I first set up our smart hub in 2016 (we have a lot of accent lights) but I am replacing them all now one by one as they fail. Sometimes it is a power outage other times there is no reason - they just fail and then click on and off incessantly (which has to be great for the appliances I have plugged into them). Besides this GE brand, we have many other brands and types of smart plugs (inovelli, Gosund, HAOZEE) and none of them have failed since 2016. Additionally, I ordered the dimming version of this switch with separate controls for each of the two outlets and it wasn’t recognized by my smart hub (the inovelli dual separate switch has no problem with the hub). I really like design and for the most part they usually connect pretty easily (although I have had the problems others have had). I wish the inovelli was still available because the design works so well behind furnishings and with cord management. Unfortunately, due to my historical experience I would avoid the GE product.
