> 3 dayI have 3 of these controlling outside lights and a fountain. They work great with my Samsung Smart things hub. One issue... these are “outdoor” plugs. Which means the plug should be flat so you can close the cover on your “outdoor” electrical outlet. I mean, really???? So the cover doesn’t fully close Because of the plug and wire which could allow water in during a rainstorm or from sprinklers which then will trip your GFI. Seriously.... duh... please make this with a flat plug like I’ve seen with other “outdoor” devices and timers.... Hey GE, I’m here ready to be paid to do consulting work for you on your products... just let me know...

01-04-2025EDIT: Please note that the seller has substituted a completely different product in this listing from the one I originally bought. This is generally done in order to artificially inflate ratings for a product. My review is in reference to an indoor plug. Any reviews here that do not specify they are for the outdoor plug do not apply. I bought a couple of these over a year ago and meant to write a review but never quite got around to it. They’re not fancy, just a couple of plugs, and have worked reliably all this time so I seldom even think about them. I needed another Z-Wave repeating device and these were in stock. But now that Samsung is sunsetting their Groovy platform and moving over to Edge drivers for all devices, I’ve been slowly migrating my devices manually. I excluded these, re-added them, and they were picked up by an Edge driver right away. So I guess I’ll go back to using and ignoring them for another year or two. Much as I love tinkering with my smart home stuff, sometimes it’s nice to have something you never need to mess with.

> 3 dayThis outlet is great, low profile with plugs on the side. Makes toggling my other less cooperative smart devices easier.

> 3 dayI still have 2 of the first generation that function 100% perfectly with no issues. I bought 2 of the second generation but have only used one of them so far. I used the second generation one all last summer and it functioned fine except that every week or so, it would just stop responding and I had to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work properly again. However, I never had that issue with the first generation even in the same location with the same application.

> 3 dayWhen will I learn. Ive used other GE SmartThings compatible devices before, switches, indoor/outdoor outlets mostly. Sometimes they connect right away sometime they take multiple repeated attempts, and in the case of this device, it never was recognized by my SmartThing hub. My recommendation is to stay away from GE devices , I tried this one in desperation, its the only device of this type I could find for my desired use. Other Z-Wave compatible brands have been excellent, they just dont carry the variety of devices I need, come on Samsung, get some devices on the market!

> 3 dayGot two of these and both have failed within a couple of years. I have over 50 z wave products and these are the only ones that failed.

> 3 dayThe device really works great. However, the documentation needs to be corrected. I could not include this device into my Z-Wave network by pressing the manual on/off button once, as stated in the instructions. After fiddling with it for over an hour, I decided to give 3 quick presses of the button a try... and wow... it took off and got included.
