> 3 dayNot sure why some people are having issues with using this switch with Smarthings (other than when smarthings is having other issues). I have a Gen 1 that I have been using for over 2 years and now this Gen 2 and they both work with no problems at all. The Gen2 does not have the rubber plug to cover the outlet, so if you plan on leaving it mounted outside with nothing plugged in this could be a problem. I dont mount mine so not issue for me.

> 3 dayWe needed to remotely turn on lights while we were away. This product work perfectly with the ring camera system alarm kit.

> 3 dayI still have 2 of the first generation that function 100% perfectly with no issues. I bought 2 of the second generation but have only used one of them so far. I used the second generation one all last summer and it functioned fine except that every week or so, it would just stop responding and I had to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work properly again. However, I never had that issue with the first generation even in the same location with the same application.

> 3 dayThis review is written on the Gen 2 product and mirrors my Gen 1 review. I have used the Gen 1 version for a couple of years. It works fine and has excellent range, although I do have repeaters (Aeotec) around the house. The Gen 2 is about $9 more currently (May 2020). This time I bought a Gen 1 and a Gen 2 and tried them out on an outlet outside and about 100 from my house. Both worked fine. The Gen 2 is smaller, maybe one-third smaller. The Gen 2 has an indicator light on the front which can be programmed to be on when switch is off or vice versa. Thats a nice plus as with Gen 1 you have to just listen. Gen 1 also has a nice cover over the outlet while Gen 2 does not. So unless one of the features of the Gen 2 is something you require, smaller size or the status light, for the money, Id stay with the Gen 1 for the time being.

Greater than one weekThis outlet is great, low profile with plugs on the side. Makes toggling my other less cooperative smart devices easier.

> 3 dayI have had issues for the past year trying to get Zwave devices to connect in a building next door. I have tried multiple devices and all of them have failed until I got this switch. I am only using them as repeaters so Im not sure how well the switching works however it does click on/off when I tell it to. I used one in each building with one inside and one outside on opposite buildings. I will probably order more and use them to operate my dogs dog house fan and heat lamp.

> 3 dayWe purchased this item back in late 2017 but never installed it - until recently (January 2022). After 3 months it started making a constant clicking noise - like a relay closing and opening again - very loud and noticeable. Our Z-Wave controller also shows the switch as offline. Reset or re-integration with Z-Wave isnt possible and clicking noise persists. Cannot recommend.

> 3 dayThe Outdoor Switch was very easy to setup with my Z-wave hub and worked flawlessly with outdoor lights. My only complaints would be that it is a higher price than many smart outdoor switches and only has one outlet. Also, the cord is very stiff so tough to bend depending on how the outlet receptacle is positioned and may stick up instead of fall towards the wall. If cost were not an issue, I would recommend this product.

> 3 dayPurchased this to use with, what I thought was a 400 watt roof heating mat. Found out the mat is 500 watts and therefore could be a problem using the smart outdoor plug. So we used it for Christmas lights outside and it is so easy to use and get set up. Now the lights are all controlled from inside, or anywhere, with my phone. Never had an outside smart plug before and now that is all I will be using.
