> 3 dayComing from a 10 year old Epson projector, this was modest improvement, primarily in brightness and contrast. However, the fan was really loud and the image had unacceptable uneven focus from side to side. Returned and upgraded to the 5050, which has an infinitely better image with better blacks, contrast, sharpness, noise, etc.

> 3 dayVery bright and at most times the image is sharp. But, there are a lot of unpleasant visual effects. Dont really know how to describe it. When there were desert sands on screen there was like pink blobs.. when showing the sky there was massive rainbow effects. Honestly, the cheap 70$ one this replaces didnt have these problems. Im not going to return it but I would not have bought it had I known the picture would be like it is.

> 3 dayEasy setup, quiet, beautiful picture quality with PS4 Update: 1 month in and it has a pixel in the middle of the display that is stuck on red. Lowering the rating due to this quality issue. I never had this issue with my old BenQ projector.

> 3 dayI was not sure if i was making the right choice. I wanted to go with the benq 4k HT3550 for better color and pixels. I decided to go with epson due to the flexibility in placement. I was really surprised with the brightness and clarity of the picture. DLP can produce double pixels but the image enhancement chip in epson is doing an exceptional job in brining the picture to life. Note: Availability and price of Benq OEM replacement lamp is really a con.

> 3 dayPros: Bright and performs well in a room with ambient light, has a sharp picture and great HDR controls Cons: Contrast is not optimal, lens adjustment and focus is manual and makes it extremely tedious to adjust a ceiling mounted projector, fan noise is a bit loud.

> 3 dayThe projector has converted one of our room upstairs into a movie theater. I am going to keep the review to basics for everyone to easily satisfy their most common use case - watching variety of movies at home with readily available stuff at home. It connects with our bluetooth sound far, the picture rate is fast moving and bright - even with the sun coming in from the windows in the room, there are ample adjustments to adjust the horizontal and vertical pictures, the zoom and the sharpness, we have plugged in a chromecast in the back, and can simply stream using any device with the chromecast - meaning netflix/prime from iphone/ipad works, the supplied remote works great. We have seen all sorts of movies and shows including action, sports, cartoons, music videos, documentaries. The inbuilt speakers are handy - of course, much better to connect with other home theater speakers or sound bars. (If I were to pick one thing to improve - the protective cap for the projector lens - have it attached with a cord or have a slide on cover mechanism so that we dont have to keep track of it when you remove and kludge put it back on. ) This projector is not even comparable to our earlier old projector - difference of day and night. The family actually wants to use the media room now to see movies.

> 3 dayMy TV is LG OLED and old projector is Optoma HD39Darbee. After I purchased OLED tv, I could not watch Optoma 1080p projector anymore. Enter Epson 3800. Now I do have a choice, I like both options, depending on the mood. What is interesting is that Epson3800s info section says it is 4K resolution projector. I tried ``True 4K Optoma Uhd38 and its info section says it is 1080p. HD39Darbee is actually better UHD38 in color and the resolution perception for me. But Epson 3800 is a principally refinement and is a clear motivation for me to move into the 4K area of projectors. The colors are outstanding, the resolution is excellent for me, not annoying, it definitely provides a 3D feeling to the 4K HDR picture. The setup is OK, a lot of lens shifting. So, if someone wants to move into the 4K area of projectors, Epson 3800 is my first recommendation (if not to look into $5000+ area).

> 3 dayI have had many projectors over the years but let me say right now with all honesty Epsom has some of the best I have used in my lifetime. I have seen and installed some very high end units and this one shines in comparison to any I have seen. Install is straight forward, picture quality is amazing, plan out your setup ahead of time and it is super smooth. I set up a 130inch screen and hung the projector from the ceiling. The options are endless and even though I have used this for at least 40 hours already I have yet to explore everything this can do. I am very satisfied with this epson projector, and will happily reccomend it to anyone. This is cutting edge tech, ability to project 4k in itself is huge, then you think about the wireless technology, bluetooth connectivity, and the 3d availability, the list goes on and on. If you are in the market I strongly suggest you give this a look
