> 24 hourBought 2 different colors as Christmas gifts for my brothers. First and most important, if you are careful, you DO NOT NEED TO REMOVE ANY RIBBON CABLES. I changed both joycons without removing a single ribbon cable. Just be smart about it. As you can see, we didnt use all the pieces. We choose to go with gold and black combo, which we both think looks less gaudy. Reasons I did not give the review 5 stars. -Screw driver bits that come with it are basically junk. Had to buy my own set after the fact to actually complete the swap. -some of the screw holes in the new shell are extremely hard to get started and use. Actually ended up ruining more bits because of this.

> 24 hourWas a fairly easy process for replacing the shell. Started with the hardest part, the right joycon, and followed JerryRigEverythings video on how to do it. Completed it without damaging anything. The velvet red looks really good, definitely my favorite color and a lot of effort seems to have been put into how the shells look. On the other hand, the plastic bits where the internal screws go into through the rail seem to strip out very easily compared to the switchs normal casing. Those screws simply spin in place, acting like pins now. Luckily the long screws which go through the entire casing keep everything together just fine. Not very sure about the value for $40, but it does come with replacement buttons and all the screws youd ever need. The included screwdrivers were not that great as they liked to strip the screws and were not the most snug fit. I ended up using my $15 50 piece precision screwdriver kit after the first joycon. Overall Id recommend, but only if your joycons are old, or damaged in another way, or if you replace the latches at the same time. Seems like a lot can go wrong doing the replacement in general and could cost you if a cable gets ripped.

> 24 hourI just want to prelude this review with the fact that this was an absolute NIGHTMARE to do lol. And it had nothing to do with ExtremeRates items - the screws Nintendo uses are nearly impossible to get out without stripping. Luckily, the product comes with all new screws with the standard Phillips head tip and they work great for replacing the ones you’ll inevitably destroy. I saw a lot of complaints about the screw drivers included in the set and I just wanted to say that I think they’ve upgraded them recently. The tip is now interchangeable and the body of the screwdriver has a rotating bottom for easier control over the screwing motion. All in all, this project took me about 5 hours. Take your time, it seems daunting when you do your first controller because of all the little bits/pieces, but it’s pretty easy when you follow the video tutorial. I did the second controller on my own :) I’m super happy with the case, the mint green is vibrant and is very soft to the touch. I have additional controllers I’m thinking of getting different colored cases for! I’ll do some additional customization with some vinyl decals to bring it all together.

> 24 hourI ordered 2 of these and reviewed the green one ready. I have not yet installed this one as we ended up getting the Animal Crossing special edition Switch for my daughter so I may not be using this one. Adding previous review below: This looks great on my neices Switch and she loves it. Its definitely not one her friends will have.. The shifting color is super pretty. But do not buy this thinking its just 5 or 6 screws like when you change out a cover for an Xbox controller or something. You have to completely disassemble the controllers and even unhook ribbon wires and chips inside so set aside time and patience for this. My brother could not even do it because he couldnt see the tiny parts well enough and his hands were too big. Youll also need a good pair of pointy tweezers for the ribbon wires that is not included. I had no trouble but it did take a long time. There are no drawings or directions just a Youtube video so you have to pause and rewind a lot to see exactly what is being unhooked. After the first one the 2nd one was much easier. *Make sure the buttons havent slipped around before you screw everything back together or you will. e real mad at yourself. I also ordered the dock face plate a d it is just as involved. You have to take the entire thing apart so just be aware of that and that if you arent good at that type of thing it may not be worth it as you could ruin your stuff if you dont put it back together correctly.

> 24 hourThis skin is an excellent addition if youre trying to make your Switch look unique. I bought my Switch second hand and it had the blue/red theme and I wasnt a fan. I bought a dark case to make it look better and that did the job. Once I upgraded my docking station to the smaller silhouette (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B071YVC3NJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) Amazon recommended these skins and I was sold. One review recommended to not remove the ribbons. If possible, I would recommend that too. The clips that hold them in place are fragile and I messed up my left joy-con. If I want to play multi-player, I can no longer use the left bumper on that joy-con. Learning from my mistake, I only removed one ribbon on the right joy-con (bumper) and it works great. I added the protective case I previously bought (pictures). I like how it gives it a darker a red look (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G8ZXGPQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The skin holds the system tighter too, so it doesnt feel as cheap as the stock skin. If I didnt already buy the protective case, I would happily use the system without. It has an excellent grip and quality feel. Would gladly buy again!

> 24 hourThe shell feels really rigid and has a soft finish that makes it great for playing your Switch on the go. All of the supplied materials felt really nice to the touch and didnt feel like cheap plastic. The pictures do a good job of accurately showing how the color looks in person. It comes with some tools to change it yourself although I found my screwdriver kit from iFixit was able to fit the screws a lot better than what was supplied. It was a nice touch though.

> 24 hourIt’s very beautiful and soft! I love the feel of it. It was pretty straight forward to put on the switch and the screw driver was actually pretty decent. When you take apart the joy-cons and put them back together it’s a lot simpler than you would think, just take you time and pay attention to what you’re doing. It’s took me around 2 hours in all to do. The only two complaints I have is that on the shell for the switch, the screws and holes didn’t match up as well on the bottom. The other thing being that the part on the joy-con is black! I really wish it was white like the rest of the shell :( I have included pictures to show what I mean. Overall, I thought the shell is very nice and to the point. P.S. I plan to update this review after a few months to include how well it keeps up :)
