> 24 hourThese pencils are as wonderful as everyone says. I read a ton of reviews before buying because I am no artist so any investment in quality materials has to pay off in pure personal pleasure and satisfaction. Everything I read said they are wonderful, but I started with the small set of 12 anyway. I wanted to see if the pencil quality would encourage me to draw more. The quality does! I would love to have bought the set of 60 or even 120. I can already see from the greatly increased time I am spending drawing that that day will come. I enjoy using these pencils so much more than other colored pencils Ive tried. The color lays down beautifully. Its easy to achieve effects from translucent through saturated and opaque. No bloom because they are not wax based. Just outstanding in every way!

> 24 hourThe reason I can only give this product 4 stars is because the tin case they came in arrived quite dented. I was very disappointed in the condition of the case, and since the cardboard box they shipped them in was not damaged at all, its safe to assume that the damage happened before shipping. However, I feel I shouldnt gripe too much, given that these are fairly less expensive than Ive seen from other carriers, who sell them for almost $200 without free shipping (thank goodness for Prime). Despite the cosmetic issues with the case, all of the pencils did arrive in tact, no significant damage to the pre-sharpened points (a few have small chips at the points but its not a big deal to me). For me, its the pencils themselves that really matter, so I can deal with the less-than-pristine case. As for a review of their performance, these are excellent pencils. I have been eyeing them for some time now and I just had to have all of the colors in one go. The leads on these are extremely durable, and they blend wonderfully. I am upgrading from Prismacolors, and these pencils are everything I expected and much more. I do wish there was a slightly larger range with their colors, but this is a very minor complaint. Overall, Im thrilled with my purchase.

> 24 hourGreat price for this very high quality made pencil. Its oil based which I like a lot. Holds a sharp tip, doesnt wear down as fast as wax based pencils do. Colors are very vibrant. So if you are looking for a professional high quality pencil, this is for you. I plan on saving up to get the whole set of 120. This product is definitely worth your cash.

> 24 hourWhat can I say these pencils are as good as everyone claims. Smooth, can lay down layer after layer of color. Rich colors heavily pigmented. Well worth the price for me.

> 24 hourThese are great coloring pencils. If you use a sharp point of the pencil, you can get dark and vibrant colors; if you use a blunt point or the side of the pencil, you can get lighter shades. The colors are lovely and are oil based, so you can use baby oil and a paintbrush with them. I bought the set of 36, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have gone for the size somewhere between that and 120. If I were a real artist, Id definitely have gone with the 120 set. Only thing I dont like is the tin which didnt open easily from day one. I had to put duct tape on the inside edge of the tin lid and more duct tape on the bottom lid just to get the darn thing open. Yeah, really annoying considering how much you pay for these.

> 24 hourI am fairly new to colored pencil art, but have noticed that so many artists that I see on Instagram, Facebook, and other social media sites, say that Polychromos, brand colored pencils, are at the top of their favorites list. I really love using them too! They are oil based and very smooth to draw with. They blend beautifully! I even find that if I make a mistake, with some line work, its erasable! I love drawing portraits and these are really nice to work with. There are so many different shades included with this set. I love that they keep a nice sharp point. (longer than another popular brand that I have) They dont break when I sharpen them either, like the other brand I have. I used to paint but due to back issues, I can not sit very long at a table. I can use colored pencils in my recliner chair! No mess, set up or clean up! If youre seriously considering buying some colored pencils, I highly recommend this set! They will last a long time and theyre just beautiful!

> 24 hourI’m on a retired fixed budget, so I saved up for theses colored pencils..only to be disappointed.....I posted one of my art pieces drawn on dura-lar using Polychromos..I used a whole roll of duralar trying different brands of colored pencils, and I least liked Polychromos on duralar....maybe its the duralar that is not a good match for these pencils, I don’t know, but the duralar is like a magical material for other brands of colored pencil....many of these pencils would just not lay down color onto the duralar without added pressure, and when using duralar, pressure can quickly damage the minimal tooth. The pencil was not soft & creamy like other brands. Ive only used polychromos on duralar, so my review is coming from limited polymchromos experience. But, my first time out the gate with these pencils, was not impressive nor productive. I put these pencils away in their box, and in my cupboard. I might find another use for them later on???.

> 24 hourThis was my first time ever using Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils and was I ever amazed. It was hard to spend this much money on colored pencils, but I am very pleased that I did. I do not have to use a blender with these pencils and I do not have to apply as much product to the paper as I do with other pencils, so you do get your moneys worth. They are super colorful and so smooth, but not waxy smooth. It is a creamy smooth, which makes it very enjoyable to use. I will cherish these and use them as my dominant coloring tool. Love them!!!!!@

> 24 hourI am in love with Polyxhromos colored pencils. They lay down very smoothly and evenly with minimal pressure and with several light layers, they mix and blend nicely with bold, vibrant pigments. I wanted the full set for so long and am nothing short of thrilled to finally have them as part of my arsenal. Theyre amazing pencils and the quality has really been a gamechanger for me with my art. Thank you, Faber-Castell for producing such an amazing product!

> 24 hourI’ve tried several brands of colored pencils, for relaxing coloring in adult coloring books, nothing major or pro. It is true that you get what you pay for. Prior to these, the best I used are the Prismacolor premieres, 2 diff kinds of Staedleter, a lower tier Faber Castell(which are great & have awesome color-laydown), every level of crayola, & various quality but generic types. I’d been dying to try these, the Fab.Cas. Polychromos. Just to start w/, I bought the 12 pack that comes in a neat thin metal case. The colors are pretty much vibrant, they lay down well, though a bit too heavy imo,as I find I can’t color a light shade w/ them, it’s either to rich or nothing. Also, they’re too thick for my taste, the entire penicil I mean, as well as the leads, just somewhat too thick. Truth be told, some common normal colors, such as a few blues, pink, orange, are not my favorite, whereas in other brands typical colors to me look nicer. Not too sure now if I’ll go for any of the bigger sets, the 24/36/60 etc. I do still honestly think that Faber-Castell is a top notch top of the line brand. High Quality. Unless I received a set that may have been exposed and left to high heat, or what have you, causing my pencils to not function the way they’re meant to, I believe they may be either a little overrated or, very overpriced.
