> 3 dayIve always had Primacolor since art school. A few months ago I gave in and bought a 150 set of Prismacolor Premier! I had so much fun using them for sketching/coloring. I realized that I should probably buy a set with harder cores for sketcking because some are used more than others. I have eyed various Faber Castell sets for a while and always intrigued from all the great reviews...so finally got this set. I think I am just a little underwhelmed. Maybe because of the expectations from all the positive reviews. I found them clunky, at least too clunky in my hand and the lead are chunky for the detailed sketches I like to do. Pigment wise I do not thinj they are any superior than what I am used to. But I plan to in the future veganize my art supplies, so there is a good chance I am going to buy more Faber Castell as most of theirs are vegan and use my color pencils sharpener to get the desire lead size.

> 3 dayI finally bought a set of Polychromos colored pencils, and they are lovely. They lay down color so soft and smooth, they are a pleasure to color with. My only complaint if you can call it that, is that they require a lot of sharpening as they are so soft and the point wears down quickly

> 3 dayLet me state that I am in no means an artist or professional, I simply love creative drawing and coloring. I have several artist quality pencils sets, including Caran D ache Luminance, Prismacolor Premier and Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor. However, the Faber Castell Polychromos (120 set) are my go-to and absolute favorite. I cannot find one flaw with these pencils. They are amazing in every way. The quality can be seen the minute you open the package. They are gorgeously designed, durable and keep a sharp point. They blend and layer wonderfully and go on smoothly, with no scratchiness whatsoever. Color range is also wonderful, from subtle colors to bright and vibrant. What else can I say, except I will never be without these. In my opinion, they are THE BEST HANDS DOWN.

Greater than one weekIm newish to pencils, but Ive learned quickly that each brand/line has different uses and techniques to provide various benefits. These pencils dont play nice and are not so forgiving. Therefore, Im being forced to improve my skills and follow the rules, unlike ones such as Prisma. This is not at all bad; its just a learning curve, and caving to the proper way to use them to get the intended results. They are great; everything positive said about them is spot on; I love the color intensity, lay-down, reliability, durability, and feel. What sucks a*-? The TINY GOLD foil-unreadable; I ruined them by using my white Posca to make the numbers viewable; TOO SAD!! My poor, beautiful pencils are ugly now:( UPDATE: I now use these WAY MORE OFTEN than Prismacolor by FAR! They blend, layer, and create BEAUTIFUL COLORS!!!!! I have so much love for for polychromos!!!

> 3 dayLovely oil based pencils work well on paper or fabric. No wax bloom, which is really nice, but I wish I had sprung for the larger set. Id like more values of pink and green. I do think its worth getting these higher quality pencils. Ive always used prism colors, but the wax bloom after a night always lightens the colors more than I like. Im a bold and bright kind of person! Faber-Castell Polycolors satisfy my need for true color that stays the color lay in.

> 3 dayThese pencils are as wonderful as everyone says. I read a ton of reviews before buying because I am no artist so any investment in quality materials has to pay off in pure personal pleasure and satisfaction. Everything I read said they are wonderful, but I started with the small set of 12 anyway. I wanted to see if the pencil quality would encourage me to draw more. The quality does! I would love to have bought the set of 60 or even 120. I can already see from the greatly increased time I am spending drawing that that day will come. I enjoy using these pencils so much more than other colored pencils Ive tried. The color lays down beautifully. Its easy to achieve effects from translucent through saturated and opaque. No bloom because they are not wax based. Just outstanding in every way!

> 3 dayI just use my pencils to color so it seems very self indulgent to spend this much on them, but after using these, they are so worth it. They color smoother and can color darker. Blending colors is lovely. There doesnt seem to be an end to how many layers of color you can put on a piece of paper. Want to redden up that orange? with these pencils you can do it no matter how dark and thick the orange already is. I bought this set because it is the smallest set that includes turquoise and purple. I thought the box would be small enough to use easily on the small table I use in the living room. Though it is possible if I am careful and the cats arent walking on my table, usually I pull out the colors I intend to use and put them in a smaller tin when I color in the living room. On the dining table or desk, the tin is a perfect size. I like the metal box, but the quality of the pencils is the reason for buying this brand.

> 3 dayI love my new 120 ct Faber Castell Polychromos. If I could give this one thousand stars I would. I love them, upon opening the package I could smell the colored pencil aroma and it pulled me right in. These colored pencils are amazing, they sharpen right to a point and they work very well. They are creamy and soft. The color comes out smooth and layers on well. These pencils are very nice to blend, I love the case it comes in. Its very well organized and theres little strings to open it to the next layer of colors. My package also came wrapped in a box that fits perfectly around this box so I am going to keep it that box too keep them perfect.
