> 3 dayFour stars because a pencil came broken but I believe that’s amazons fault and not the seller. Besides that these are great colored pencils. Very smooth and blend easily.

> 3 daycolors and definitely skin tone colors--this particular one has no skin tone colors in it. As for blending they blend well, as for depth it does take more work/coloring to get the depth you want in color. First oil based I have owned and so far I like them--I own Marco Raffene and Prismacolor--those were what I started with when I started adult stress coloring years ago--with that being said Im not a big fan of wax-based pencils as they dont blend as well for grayscale coloring

> 3 dayThese are by far the best pencil on the market but you also pay a premium price for them. Of all the 20 set of pencils I own these are by far my favorites and are leaps and bounds above the others. The color lays down smoothly and evenly. They also blend nicely. The pencil leads are strong and I have experienced no breakage. I dont now how Faber does it - making a strong pencil lead that lays down smoothly, easily and evenly. Since the leads are strong they will last longer. The Prismas are a soft lead and thus you us more of the pencil when coloring so they wont last as long as the Fabers. Also the color name is one the Faber pencils which is a big plus in my book. They come in a nice tin box and there is padding between the layers which is a nice touch. If you love to color, I would suggest saving your money for this set because you will not be disappointed with them. You will just need to recover from spending so much on color pencils.

> 3 dayOverall I am very happy with these. They work exactly as Id heard and are very pleasant all around. A few limitations made me think 4.5/5 for a rating but I considered it worthy of rounding up. Physically The box looks extremely pleasant but Im sure it would dent easily. In this regard I think Id have preferred the

> 3 dayQuality wooden cases on these pencils. Wonderful smooth cores respond well to a variety of surfaces--plate (smooth), Bristol, watercolor papers, and copier plain paper . Extraordinary range of shades, tones, and tints (colors). Great metal organizer. Trays are elasticised and padded on their undersides. The padding is modestly slide resistant I discovered by coincidence. Lovely Art material I have wanted for a long time.

Greater than one weekMy daughter is in advanced art and the teacher recommended prismacolor art pencils. The color selection is great but the leads are not bonded to the wood casing causing them to break and fall out. Also they tend to have a lot of wax blooming when trying to blend colors as well as some fading with time. We ended up buying some Faber-Castell Polychromos after trying prismacolor and my daughter loves the way they blend and their quality is outstanding as well as being colorfast so little to no fading after years of exposure. You can find art pencils in a lower price range but I feel it is worth paying a little extra for a better quality product. Even the art teacher has commented on how vivid the colors are and how much nicer my daughters drawings have gotten compared to her previous works. My daughter hasnt told her that she is using the Faber-Castell Polychromos now instead of what was recommended. Proof that the quality of the Faber-Castell Polychromos are better.

> 3 dayThese pencils are perfect for detail. For the longest time I used prismacolor for all pencil drawings. Prismacolor has very rich colors but the lead is thicker and softer, breaks more, and the wax will eventually rise to the surface of your drawings, resulting in a duller appearance. While I have less colors to work with in this set, they are superior quality. The lead is thinner but harder, so they dont break as often and are perfect for detail work, i.e. fur/hair etc. The colors are vibrant and permanent but lack any sort of shine. You have to get a oil-based colorless blender for these, the waxy one for prismacolors will NOT work. If you are learning to blend colored pencils still, are practicing, dont care if the wax permeates through eventually, or need large surface areas covered, I would recommend prismacolor. If you are are comfortable blending to get the shades you need, are looking for more advanced pencils, particularly for detail work, and this is professional work that cannot have excess wax on it, I would recommend the Faber-Castell.

> 3 dayBlend wonderfully and have a fantastic range of colors! My go-to for colored pencils, and I would definitely recommend these over prismacolor pencils. The tips hold a point, are less prone to breaking in the sharpener, and layer over each other much nicer. They take some getting used to if you are only experienced with wax based colored pencils, but these dont have a layer limit where you cant get any more pigment to stay on the paper, and look fantastic when blended with odorless spirits.
