Garmin 010-01879-00 InReach Mini, Lightweight and Compact Satellite Communicator, Orange

I activated, signed up for the Safety plan, and sent a preset message as a test while out on a motorcycle ride. The recipient received it in under a minute and had a link to my location the was completely accurate. I also like that I can subscribe to a plan only when I need it, then drop the plan in the winter months when I cant ride. I was debating between the InReach and a regular one-way beacon. I read a post from a rescue coordinator who said its a huge benefit if they know the nature of the problem and can communicate back and forth. That was enough to convince me a two-way beacon was the right choice.

I bought this in order for my family to track me while I drove across Africa in a 4x4, oftentimes in very remote areas. It worked perfectly with clear skies, but gave some issues in clouds. That being said, a 5/5 because I’d be totally on my own without this as a safety net.

I only did 3 traces so far. On the second day of use, my family could not see my location online. I do not know what happened but MapShare did not work correctly. As it was test, I still have to use other times to feel safe with the InReach Mini. I thought it would be more intuitive to use, too many features and little instruction of use by the manufacturer.

Déçu, service qui revient très cher, mieux tant quà ça, investir dans un téléphone satellite à mon avis. Il sera à vendre pas cher à la fin de mon année dabonnement

Great safety device for emergency communication. Well built and works perfectly

I love the sense of security you get when having this with you. I bought it for Colorado elk hunting in 2019 and it did help but...

In so many ways this product is really quite amazing. Whether you’re a hiker, a pilot or spend time offshore this is simply a must have. While I give this a 4 out of 5 it really boils down to that last con. There is some room for improvement most of which could be easily done by Garmin through OTA updates.

The inreach is legit, sends messages quickly and battery life is great. Works as advertised.
