Perfect when you are out of cell phone signal and have a emergency. The battery lasts a long time.

I used this product while deployed in Syria so I could text my wife and let her know I was safe when I didnt have a way to communicate otherwise. I also used this to plot maps and routes for our missions. Wonderful product. Garmin has done it again! Would recommend this product for adventure seekers and soldiers alike. Very ideal and portable. The bluetooth function is excellent as well and let me see my maps and messages on my phone. 10/10 would recommend.

This was definitely one of the worst purchases I made in a long time. The entire device is poorly conceived and executed. The screen belongs on a cellphone in 1995, and there are about 3 total buttons to perform all of the functions.

Hard to understand instructions and the price structure. Very hard to understand how to send or receive messages, and what item costs what. I still don’t understand the different options to send locations and how they cost.

The GPS service was sometimes tricky to pick uo at the beginning, but it was still effective enough to be able to track our routes in very remote areas. Unfortunately it stopped consistently picking up a signal after that month and now has effectively become useless. Hopefully the warranty repair or replacement will be better.

Worked great in Northern Ontario and deep sea fishing out of Bahamas. Like it better than the full sized version.

Garmin customer service for the inreach is absolutely crap. Online registration and plan selection sucks

Does everything I need to go off grid on my own. Could have done without the bells and whistles but that is the way the world is today. Have not had to use it for the intended SOS purpose, but it lets the wife know Im OK.

Hardware is great. Battery life OK. Only issue I see is the Android app is very buggy and unreliable when paired to mini for texting. Improvement in that area would get this up to 4-5 stars for me.
