Arrived within a couple of weeks, was well packaged, and meets my expectations of a 2 tb hdd. Bang for your buck best deal Ive seen on this product.

Great price, installed two of these in a NAS. Working with no issues now for several months

I am a retired engineer. I build computers as a hobby. This is not my first purchased of HGST hard drive. I’ve purchased 2T and 4T HDST with no issues. I first purchased a recertified HGST which I thought would be okay for the use in a home entertainment center to store TV series. I installed the drive and it immediately started making popping and cracking sounds during operation which is a sign of a failing hard drive. I returned it. This time I order a new Ultrastar hard drive which did the same thing. I’ve been using a 2008 HGST that I pulled from an old computer to store TV series. It works well, however it was only 5oo gigs. So, now I am using it again. I guess there is little or no quality control since it was now part of Western Digital.

I purchased four of these to put in my Vantec HX4R raid enclosure in raid10 mode, giving me a total of 4TB. Put them through rigorous smartctl + badblock testing following the advice here (minus installing FreeNas): https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/how-to-hard-drive-burn-in-testing.21451/ Not a single error, took around 40 hrs to test one drive. On USB3 I am getting around 230MB/s transfer speef. Would highly recommend these drives.

Works great! I use it with an external dock and works great for back up all my stuff.. Loves it!

So obviously not a New drive. Bunch of amateur crooks. Avoid.

I havent done any speed tests, it just works fine. A little more noise than my Western Digitals or Seagates, but is ok.

It was advertised as used-like new but the damage on it and the grinding noise it made when powered on to read/write suggests heavy usage over its lifetime.
