> 3 dayI bout this laptop in Sept in 2020 to work from home and the Intel wifi adapter failed in December 2020. Now HP is s telling me I can pay $80 bucks to get a 3 year extended warranty on both software band hardware. Why the hell would I want to invest more than the the $700 investment I already made during the pandemic. Idk what to do at this point. I cant sell it, I cant get a refund, and Im not giving these crooks another dime. Dont buy it.

> 3 dayJust wanted to drop a review here saying its super simple to add another 8gb of ram to this notebook. HP provides helpful repair videos on youtube for the DY-1000 series of notebooks that show you how to replace a ram module. If you notice on the video, theres a second, completely empty ram slot beside the one with the 8gb stick that comes from the factory. This laptop supports 16gb of ram (2x8gb sticks), per the support manual from HPs own website. Caution, if you somehow mess it up your warranty may be voided. HP does not recommend you do any sort of upgrades or repairs on this notebook. But, if you want 16gb of ram (and you do) its very easy to upgrade.

> 3 dayI bought this laptop and it came in with a hardware defect that resulted in freezing and crashing. I spoke to Mastertronics and then when their suggestions didnt work I received assistance from HP support. HP support figured out there was a hardware problem that was not fixable by me and said I should return the laptop for a full refund. I returned it a week after receiving the laptop and Mastertronics charged me a $90 restocking fee and so I was $90 short for my refund. HP support was awesome so I will stick with HP, but I will NEVER use Mastertronics again. That was $90 I couldve put towards a laptop that actually worked. I would advise going through a different retailer.

> 3 dayThis laptop arrived on May 7/2020. It arrived a day earlier than expected in good condition and without any damage. The battery takes 100% charge in 1 hour and 55 minutes. After charging the battery lasted 5 hours between videos on YouTube and browsing the web .. The screen resolution looks very good. Image quality very good. It takes 8 seconds to turn on. The screen is not touch. The keyboard is not illuminated. The fan is silent when used with the battery When it is connected to the power the fan is heard a little but its sound is not annoying. It is very light. Its measurements are 14 1/8 inch x 9 1/2 inch. Today I have 10 days with this Laptop and so far I am very happy with it.good investment.when I have more time with this laptop I will come back and make another review.

> 3 dayThis laptop is best for web browsing and basic application tasks. It doesnt have enough power for audio/video editing, gaming or power hungry programs. The screen leaves a lot to be desired especially if you also have a higher end computer that you use elsewhere. Recently I have had this laptop turn on at night and the loud fan noise will wake me up. It doesnt seem to be updating and Ive checked and changed a lot of system settings without finding the reason why. Every now and then it will freeze and reboot without warning. So far I am not impressed with this entry level laptop. I would recommend spending a little more and getting a better screen, faster processor and overall better quality. My iPhone 11 makes this feel antiquated. 3 stars.
