HP 15-dy1036nr 10th Gen Intel Core i5-1035G1, 15.6-Inch FHD Laptop, Natural Silver

I got the HP 15-inch FHD laptop for my daughter in case school was cancelled again due to coronavirus. (Her Mac broke). It is a reasonable price, but has some flaws, hence the 4 star review. I love that it has a 10 hour battery life and is very lightweight, so its very portable. However, if I wanted to use it as a work-from-home computer, this is not functional as it doesnt have a Ethernet port as some employers require that. So, its Wi-Fi or nothing. HP needs to put one in to make it more compatible for various usages.

Folks, I have spent HOURS doing tech support with HP, Ive had to buy an ethernet cable adaptor & a flash drive, & still dont have working wifi. In fact, when I first reached out to HP, they informed me that because of how complicated my issue was, basic tech support wasnt going to be able to help - I would have to pay for tech support in spite of having just gotten this laptop. After all this, theyve now told me I have to send the laptop in for repairs, paying for all shipping & repair work. Again - on a laptop that NEVER worked, and that Ive owned less than a month. Ive invested far too much money and time into a laptop that should have worked out of the box. Steer clear.

This computer is a real disappointment! I returned it the same day. It shutdown itself without any warning. the images are dull, is not bright at all. Its a waste of money. I returned it since 5 days and till now no acknowledge receipt, no response while they already took the money from my account.

Some days afo I received this pretty computer in my country Dominican Republic, this is very niche, light and fast, why two start? because this computer in the first day of use (3 days ago) the screen turned off 2 times and when that happened also launched some white stripes like those stripes when you take off the antenna from an old TV, I informed amazon about this already and if this happened again I will have too ask for a refund, I hope not to do it because I need the computer for my university and work from home.

This is good quality but it’s not touch screen and it dies a bit quickly. The display quality is super and it’s durable.

This was a pretty good laptop for the price. The worst thing about it is the silver keys with letters marked in black, those are really hard to see from any angle but straight up. The function keys are extremely difficult to read. Thats probably just a poor color choice on my part. It also runs a little hot, that can be a real problem over any fairly long period of time. Its a good backup to have if you make the mistake of buying a Lenovo.

Keyboard was shipped with the Enter key not working. Will nit not be buying HP laptops anymore.

Loving this new laptop...I had a previous version of HP laptop also. I love the reliability of the machines, the ease of use and the speed. Super purchase. My only negative comment would be that I waited too long to replace my old machine. Thanks HP, keep up the great work of putting out top-of-the-line equipment.

This laptop is best for web browsing and basic application tasks. It doesnt have enough power for audio/video editing, gaming or power hungry programs. The screen leaves a lot to be desired especially if you also have a higher end computer that you use elsewhere. Recently I have had this laptop turn on at night and the loud fan noise will wake me up. It doesnt seem to be updating and Ive checked and changed a lot of system settings without finding the reason why. Every now and then it will freeze and reboot without warning. So far I am not impressed with this entry level laptop. I would recommend spending a little more and getting a better screen, faster processor and overall better quality. My iPhone 11 makes this feel antiquated. 3 stars.
