> 3 dayWastes paper and ink by printing test pages for no reason. Refuses to print a black copy if its out of color ink. Doesnt handle changing paper sizes well. Despite numerous driver updates nothing meaningful has been fixed. I hate this thing with a passion.

> 3 dayListed and advertised as new, but was marred and the ink cartridge area was splashed with ink. Clearly not as promoted. Received an e-mail from seller for a $ 30.00 refund as she realized it was NOT new. Seller agreed to accept return, refund the cost plus pay for shipping. It was shipped April 14, and I have not yet received refund. This certainly soured my experience with shopping online! Sincerely, Caroline M.Klebenow

> 3 dayI needed this printer to print some very important documents I needed to get to the bank, only to realize after unboxing it that there was no USB cable. I thought perhaps Id overlooked it so I searched the box but it wasnt there. It is listed in very small print on the side of the box that the USB cable is not included. So now I am left to go searching for a 2$ cord that HP couldnt be bothered to include. If the USB cable is not included at least make it obvious on the description of the product so we will know to get one beforehand

> 3 dayhp incompetence: if you spend weeks dealing with alleged customer support (not one american!), filling out and submitting the same worksheet numerous times, THEN if you want replacement you have to give credit card so that they can charge you AGAIN for old printer if not returned within 15 days (and we all know how unreliable mdse shipments can be) or they can just lie and say it wasnt returned in time. They refuse to just provide mailing label for old printer to be returned before shipping new one. And so-called HP Service Partners are nothing more than SALES stores like WalMart that dont do repairs. I had same problem with paper feeder, buying different weights, etc. And dont even think of trying to online chat--nobody answers telephone, not that you could understand them anyhow. and their so-called tech support give you links that are incomplete, ie no address @???, so you know whether its hp.com or what

> 3 dayI went shopping for a reasonably priced printer to get some basic prints out, and I ended up picking up the HP-PSC 1510. Ive owned this piece of garbage for a year now, and the only way to keep myself from wasting time trying to get it to work was to simply throw it in the trash. Today I needed to print a single page, with a simple color picture on it and some basic text. As usual the text smeared (even after following ALL of the Help and Suggestion tips from the manual AND the HP website) which is acceptable, but the picture had lines through it and the colors were insane. I followed the instructions on the HP website to try and calibrate the colors - to no avail. I then tried to print out a test page, and the feed mechanism wasnt working, again. I spent an hour reading from the HP website about how to diagnose and perhaps fix the paper feed mechanism since that has NEVER really worked right. I figured enough is enough, and I simply picked up the HP-PSC 1510 and dropped it into the trash can - the single satisfying experience Ive had to date with this printer. - Feed mechanism errors: you have to TRICK the printer into actually accepting paper, and it usually DRAGS paper in at a weird angle - producing very inconsistent prints. If you are trying to print a report, every page will appear to have different margins. - Smearing of ink on final prints: no matter what quality setting I use or what program I use to print (including the most up-to-date HP printing software), text smears - sometimes so bad that it hurts your eyes to read more than a page of anything printed by the HP-PSC 1510. - Build quality is worse than that of dollar store plastic toy: while tinkering with the HP-PSC 1510 (trying to get the feed mechanism to work) I had a good look at the printer, and over all Id be generous to call the build quality shabby. - Photos were decent: this is the only area where the printer wasnt HORRIBLE. The feed mechanism didnt seem to have a problem accepting glossy photo paper, and the prints werent bad, but werent good. Ink blotted and discoloration was present after an hour, but that was perhaps one out of five photographs printed by the HP-PSC 1510 using HP software. I own an HP laptop and havent had any issues with it so far, in fact its one of the best laptops Ive worked with so far (dollar for dollar) - which makes me wonder if they put together their laptops and printers in different manufacturing plants, or even different countries. I cant be bothered to waste my time finding out, but Im amazed at the vast difference in build quality between the two. Suffice to say Ill NEVER be buying an HP printer again, and I advise anyone who is looking for a new printer to buy anything except HP.

> 3 dayIve owned this printer for about two years and have run it under both Win XP and Win Vista. The printer does a reasonable job of scanning and printing but it suffers from several defects, 1. Uses ink VERY quickly and the ink cartridges are rather expensive. 2. Somehow managed to use up the color ink even though we werent printing any color items (I suspect one of the grayscale printing features uses some color to generate just the right shade of gray). 3. Is VERY difficult to run with just a black and white ink cartridge in place (which Ive been doing in an effort to avoid constantly replacing the color cartridge while printing only grayscale!). The printer will send numerous warning messages that the cartridges are misaligned and each time the printer is turned on, it will print an alignment page. All in all I cannot recommend this product (and in fact am just now browsing Amazon in search of a replacement!).

> 3 dayI thought the first printer had just gone bad after a year because it would NEVER feed paper into the printer. So I went out and bought, yes, another one (newer model) and lo and behold....2 weeks later....it doent feed paper again; unless you physically help it....sometimes. What a hunk of junk.

> 3 dayDont buy this machine. My husband and I have been loyal HP printer customer for years. Only reason I bought a new one was because my new computer only accepts USB and my old HP printer was a parrallel port (thats how long my old HP has been working perfectly, and still is; gave to a friend). I purchased the HP PSC 1510 for my home office thinking adding copy and scanning capabilites would be nice conveniences. Im on my second one and its now doing the same thing: doesnt feed paper(regardless of what kind you use to try and please it) no customer service at Help button-links to sales web site no customer service assistance on phone Ink cartridges VERY small....replace constantly and they are expensive Does HP make a decent model under $200 anymore? Im returning this one too. Takes up my whole day fiddling with it. Dont need a fax. Just color printer, occasional copies, and scanner. Shame on HP. [email protected]

> 3 dayWe bought this awhile back, barely ever used it and its a nightmare every time we try to. Constant trouble shooting and strange error messages appear. Our cheaper and older printer does a much better job! Only buy this printer if you like troubleshooting.
