This printer/scanner works flawlessly. The software installed no problemo, and the scan controller is good and simple. The only gripe is that it doesnt tie directly to iPhoto (a Scan to iPhoto option would be obvious and beneficial). Printing is fast and easy via the normal print dialog box.

Ive had this printer for a few years simply because I dont print that much and dont want to spend much money on something I rarely use. This printer has never been able to print a decent picture. It has always needed frequent cartridge changes even though I print very few pages (I finally found an alternative to buying the hugely overpriced HP cartridges). The paper feeder has also always been a pain as many other raters mentioned. Bottom line is that this product is a piece of crap and as previous raters have mentioned I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HEWLETT-PACKARD PRINTER!!!

Ive owned this printer for about two years and have run it under both Win XP and Win Vista. The printer does a reasonable job of scanning and printing but it suffers from several defects, 1. Uses ink VERY quickly and the ink cartridges are rather expensive. 2. Somehow managed to use up the color ink even though we werent printing any color items (I suspect one of the grayscale printing features uses some color to generate just the right shade of gray). 3. Is VERY difficult to run with just a black and white ink cartridge in place (which Ive been doing in an effort to avoid constantly replacing the color cartridge while printing only grayscale!). The printer will send numerous warning messages that the cartridges are misaligned and each time the printer is turned on, it will print an alignment page. All in all I cannot recommend this product (and in fact am just now browsing Amazon in search of a replacement!).

PAPER DOES NOT FEED ... YOU HAVE TO BABY-SIT IT AND PUSH IT IN ONE SHEET AT A TIME. Scans fine and Pints 4x6 photo paper fine. But the 8.5 X 11 paper feeder is a joke. And now it looks like they repaced it with the HP Photosmart C3180 All in One Printer/Scanner/Copier. I would BEWARE of both!

I have two of these bought at the same time.... BOTH of these pieces of s@#$%t dont feed right and Ive taken them back to Best Buy to fix them/replace them only to get them back doing the same thing... and its too late for a refund. I feel like HP and Best Buy have my b@#$s in a vise! Dont buy it.

Both are great units. 1510 has an upgraded scan resolution, BUT the ink cartridge volumes are larger in the 1310 (twice ±!). Check it out. Software works great, including the OCR. I switched from Epson CX6600 (also a great all-in-one) as the ink nozzles are replaced with a new cartridge in the HP, whereas the Epson nozzles are built in to the print head, and when they become clogged it is a $$$ shop repair. This is the worst printer I have ever owned. HP should be ashamed of themselves for having created such a low-quality product. I always dread having to print anything. The worst part about it is how often you have to replace the print cartridges. What a scam! I will make sure not to buy HP next time when I finally replace this garbage.

My old printer was on its last leg so I had been on the hunt for a replacement for about a month. I use mine for a home based business so I didnt want to spend a ton of money nor did I want to end up with a piece of junk either. You all know the saying you get what you pay for, well that does not ring true with this printer. I only paid $89.99, which is really cheap for an all-in-one unit, and I would have gladly paid more had I known how wonderful it was going to be! Installation was a breeze, however I did make a slight error during the print alignment part of the installation process but was able to log on to the HP website and chat live with a customer service rep who helped me fix the mistake in no time at all. I love the size of this machine, it isnt bulky at all, and fits perfectly on the shelf under my desk. I like the fact that I can hook my digital camera right into the printer which makes it easy to print my photos in a hurry. I am impressed with the quality of the pictures, they are beautiful; the colors are so crisp and clear, its like I had them developed at a photo-center. Even better is the fact that the print cartridges are under $20 a piece, not the case with my old printer, they were over $25 a piece, ouch! As for longevity, so far I havent had any problems; there hasnt been any paper jams, nor any software malfunctions that other reviewers have reported with the older version of this printer. Bottom line is if you are looking for a printer for personal use or for a home based business like myself then this printer is exactly what you are looking for. You just cant beat its quality for such a small price tag!

I needed a printer at college and my tech-challenged parents thought this would suffice... it was a good guess, as the rest of my gear (camera, laptop, etc) are all HP and Im typically a big fan. This printer has been nothing but trouble. Ill echo the comments about very spotty, problematic paper feed issues and eating cartridges like candy, and add two more. Whenever you install a new cartridge the machine FORCES you to recalibrate; if you dont (and its typically not needed), it keeps reminding you and spitting out ink-wasting alignment sheets (sheetS). Mine has taken on a new and infuriatingly frustrating habit: telling me I have the wrong color cartridge installed. Its the right kind for this printer and its been in use for a couple months (with little to no use), and NOW it will not allow me to print anything (not even B&W text) because its mysteriously become the wrong cartridge. Im about ready to give up on this piece of junk. When it works its fine, but use your money wisely and go for something else.

This product does everything I want it to do. Initially, I had a problem setting it up but that was my fault. The technical team at Quality Printers walked me through the set up and I am very happy for their support. I would encourage anybody who is thinking of a printer or other computer related products to talk to Quality Printers first. You wont be disappointed. Sincerely, Dana Weishaar
