I wish Id had the chance to read these reviews before purchasing this printer... The first printer I purchased jammed right away, and evidently I messed up something when I cleared the jam because it squeaked incredibly after that. I almost immediately started running into issues with the paper jamming every time/paper not pulling through or, if I got lucky, pulling several pages through at once so the type ended up misaligned. I saw another one at a garage sale and thought I could start fresh. Even though it was in great, like new condition, it started having jamming issues shortly after I started using it as well. About the only way to coax the paper on through was to lift up the front edge of the paper as the printer tried to pull it in and give it slight pressure to help the printer grab the paper. For mutiple page documents or several copies, babysitting the printer like this is a tedious and insane. I really have better things to do with my time. I hate to stop using it since I have several ink cartridges to use up (which, by the way, do get used up fairly quickly). But Im not looking forward to printing 100 Christmas letters and standing by the printer all day to babysit. I used to believe that HP was the gold standard when it came to printers. Now they must be more concerned with quantity vs. quality. I give it 2 stars only because when it does print, the quality is nice.

The title says it all. I own it for 2 years or more. A year ago I got a replacement. Both items together printed max 20 pages. So what will that be 10 or so minutes. But I think I wasted more than 10 hours on this piece of junk and the hp support people to get it working. I am giving it 2 stars because the scanner part of it worked okay for me.

I bought this because i also had a 1000 series all-in-one a few years back and it worked great back in those days. Sadly this printer does not live up to its predecessors... like... not even close. Although printing speed is faster and the quality standard, its harder to use because the software is slow with confusing interface and takes up alot of memory for simple tasks. but the worst part is that, the paper wont even feed. and if it does it jams or takes a couple of paper in at the same time and prints all over them. each time i had to keep pressing resume about twice. never again with HP... im dissapointed. something so simple became so hard

I got this printer basically for free when I got a new iMac Intel Core Duo. Now I understand why they were pushing to get this printer out of inventory! It delivers good prints, scans, and copies. However, there were numerous issues with the software, and also numerous problems with communication between the Mac and the printer. The worst problem, though, is when it decided it didnt want to feed paper any more. This is evidently a common problem with this series of printer, since HP has addressed it on their support website. I followed all of their directions to fix the problem, and still it wont feed paper. So, rather than waste the time on getting it fixed, Im just going to junk it and get something else. Im not thrilled with the HP software ... it gets almost as many updates to fix things as Windows!! I strongly recommend people spend the extra money to get a better printer. This one got two stars because it was free, and has an interesting design that complimented the Mac.

Got this printer in Nov, and its been nothing but trouble. Ink goes way too fast. This printer is incapable of picking up a sheet of paper. It will pick up the whole stack, or pick up one and jam. The only way to get one sheet out whole is to manually feed it in. As thats the reason I bought a new one (the old HP) had to be hand-fed, Im not a happy camper. This piece of junk is going back to the store tomorrow.

I purchased this reconditioned HP PSC 1510 printer to replace the same model which had died. I wanted to stick with something I knew, with reasonably priced cartridges and decent print quality. The printer worked fine right out of the box and has been working fine for a few months now. My last model was a bit noisy and so is this one, but it does everything its suppose to do (scan/copy/print).

I have had this printer for a year. I dont print very often. Of all the pages I have printed on this printer, I would say that 40% were alignment sheets. It prints this page every time I turn the damn thing on. There is no way to turn this printing off - and of course these sheets are printed in color! The cartridges are expensive ($45 for a color and Black combo with only 5ml of ink) I have spent way too much on the ink. It would have been more cost effective to print at kinkos. The software that came with this was too bloated and was rarely used. This was my first experience with an HP product and surely my last.

Well Ive had this printer for close to a year and right now I am not able to copy or scan. When I tried to scan, it would give me a black square I guess the mirror inside was damaged or what not. The printer still works fine for printing out papers but after a few months the other components went out. The good thing about it is the ink is a lot cheaper than most printers

I spent more than a week trying to get the HP PSC 1510 installed on my Win98SE system without success. My computer is a P3-866 with 128MB RAM, which does meet the system requirements. I made many attempts at installing the software and uninstalling, re-installing, etc. The install of the software always appeared to go OK and the All-in-One was detected by Windows and several drivers were loaded. However, after everything was done and Windows was restarted the 1510 was not listed as an available printer when either printing a document or under Settings / Control Pannel / Printers. HP email tech support tried to help and even wrote back once asking if earlier tips they had given had worked. But I eventually just got fed up and decided to return the PSC 1510 to Amazon. At least the return to Amazon was quick and without hassle. UPS even came direct to my door to pick up the package at no charge. I was pleased with the results of the test scans I made. The no-PC color copying was also quick and of good quality. However, since I could not print, I decided to give this printer one star. I will now be trying a Lexmark, probably a X6150. From the specs at least, the X6150 sounds to be more system friendly, requiring only a P200 and 64 MB RAM for Windows 98. ----- UPDATE: 12/10/05: After returning the HP and getting the Lexmark I found I still had the same installation problems. Only after doing a fresh install of Windows, rather than an upgrade, was I able to install the Lexmark printer. It is likely that doing the same fresh install would have allowed me to install this HP printer. It would be nice if the install programs for these printers told you exactly what was wrong or would even offer to fix the problem, instead of forcing you to reinstall your OS. I am happier with the Lexmark (X6150) though. The scans I was able to make on the HP (never could print) do not look as good as scans of same material made on the Lexmark at the same dpi setting. The HP-1510 was faster though at doing no-PC copying, even at the higher quality settings. Scan speed is about the same, the best I can reemember.

This is a good all-in-one, especially for the price. Mine seems to print a little slower than other printers I have used. Overall, though, I am satisfied with it. Easy to set up, easy to use.
