The instruction manual is very hard to understand, obviously written by people for whom English is a second language. But, once you get past that, it works beautifully and seems very accurate. The display is very easy to read.

The ink bird humidity controller is very accurate right out of the box. Make sure you have a dehumidifier or humidifier with auto restart at set the values on the humidifier or dehumidifier much lower or higher then your target so the inkbird can completely manage it.. the one drawback is it doesn’t have dual day / night independent settings for absolute RH control which comes in handy to dial in your indoor grow environment but you can find a happy-medium and keep your VPN relatively in check. For the price this is the best out there for the home hobbiest level grower..commercially you would want to run a full environment controller or a humidity controller that lets you set humidity levels for day/night, to achieve this with this controller you would need two controllers on timers and 2 different dehumidifiers....

If you are dealing with a situation with high humidity, this unit will without fail alarm and turn off your dehumidifier / fan, making it mostly useless. You cannot set the unit to not alarm, so you will have to listen to it blearing, knowing that you now have to manually have to get power to your dehumidifier / fan. You can set the calibration down by a max of -10%, and then set your dehumidify set point down a corresponding -10%, but amazingly it will STILL alarm at high humidity and shut off your dehumidifier / fan. Amazingly disappointing.

This is inexpensive, works well, and is easy to setup. Im humidifying a guitar room with a new humidifier that doesnt have a humidity sensor, so I had been relying on my old humidistat on the shelf to help me manage the humidity level manually. That was aggravating work. But with this new controller, not only is life easier, but it has taught me that my old humidistat was highly inaccurate. Today, I need far less water than before and the humidity range isnt so wildly up and down.

I returned this item, because the humidifier that I bought to use with it, will not work with an external controller. So I would say, you would be better off if your humidifier was an analog one. This thing does turn the power on and off to a humidifier or a dehumidifier based on the RH% that you choose. It does work. Its just that my humidifier needs you to then choose the steam level and the RH% before it will start working. Bummer because this thing is cool. I will say that setting it up is a bit confusing. Mostly because it has so many capabilities. But the instructions are good. Once I figured all of that out, it was great.

I use it to control an old wick-type room humidifier. All I had to do was plug it in and plug the humidifier into one of the outlets (the other outlet would accept a dehumidifier so you could use both). The instructions for set up require a very close reading, but they are appropriate for the device. You set the desired percent-humidity and the differential; i.e., how far below the desired percent will trigger your humidifier. The differential was pre-set at five percent which was far too great; I re-set it to one percent, the minimum. Now the humidifier shuts off at 35.0% and starts again at 34.0%. The device has been running constantly for about a month, now, and is doing a perfect job.

Easy to use after the You Tube video on it. Don’t know what I’d do without it. Works perfect

The sensor’s micro plug interface is not protected from moisture or high humidity 75%+ The connection will oxidize eventually “5 months” and this will cause malfunction. It is to small even for most experienced electronics experts to solder directly and I can’t find replacements. The controller module portion is great and seems well made easy to program after you figure out what the poor translation is saying.

Ball pythons need a decently high humidity, but nothing insane like a chameleon. We use a glass terrarium with some vent holes, so keeping the desired humidity was a daily struggle. After a quick setup, this now keeps his terrarium at the perfect humidity levels. The directions seemed vague and confusing at first. But we did not need most of the settings and then realized we just needed to set basic humidity levels.
