Im so glad I bought this. The heating/cooling unit in my older condo doesnt have a built-in humidifier. So in cold/dry Minnesota winters, I need to manually add humidity. I prefer running a simple Vicks brand steam vaporizer. But several times I have accidently left the vaporizer on too long and my windows would fog up and drip condensation. This unit is great for automatically controlling the vaporizers operation. I simply set a desired humidity level and a variance factor. In my case a setting of 40% humidity with a variance of 3%. So when humidity drops below 37%, it turns on the vaporizer and keeps it on until humidity reaches the set goal. Ive had it running for a couple of months now with no problems. This unit has actually two outlets. One for controlling a humidifier and the second for controlling a dehumidifier. So Im actually only using half of its functionality.

The ink bird humidity controller is very accurate right out of the box. Make sure you have a dehumidifier or humidifier with auto restart at set the values on the humidifier or dehumidifier much lower or higher then your target so the inkbird can completely manage it.. the one drawback is it doesn’t have dual day / night independent settings for absolute RH control which comes in handy to dial in your indoor grow environment but you can find a happy-medium and keep your VPN relatively in check. For the price this is the best out there for the home hobbiest level grower..commercially you would want to run a full environment controller or a humidity controller that lets you set humidity levels for day/night, to achieve this with this controller you would need two controllers on timers and 2 different dehumidifiers....

This device has worked very well in keeping the relative humidity level constant in a room where I keep my guitars (acoustic and electric). There is a good YouTube video that made the setup process easy (enter IHC-200 in the YouTube search). Im using this controller with the AquaOasis 2.2L humidifier. With this device, I am keeping my relative humidity at 50% +/- 3%. In seasons where the natural humidity level is already high, I dont have to fill the humidifier tank for days. It has my enthusiastic recommendation.

We started using this humidity controller in our snake’s tank in January 2022. After about five months of daily use, it started malfunctioning — continuing to power the connected humidifier even after it had detected shut-off humidity levels. The result was a tank full of fog at 90+% humidity (30% above target range). We were able to reset the device, but it malfunctioned again after several days. This cycle repeated a couple times, which became an obvious health hazard for our snake. We had no idea when it would stop working properly, and that increased the chance she would develop a respiratory infection. So we reached out to Inkbird support, and eventually they sent us a replacement. The replacement device worked properly for about the same length of time before malfunctioning in the same way. We reached out to Inkbird a second time, and they encouraged us to buy the product again, since the 1-year warranty had expired. All of this is just to say that manufacturing quality here is spotty at best, and you shouldn’t expect any one controller to last more than about 6 months. It works pretty well when it’s working, but the product is junk at its core.

My wife runs 3 egg hatchers and our Inkbird controller makes environmental control for these a breeze. This unit is very easy to program, very accurate and dependable. The alarm system that notifies us when the humidity is outside our set parameters relieves from having to check the hatchers multiple times a day. We use a baby monitor placed near the controller with the receiver in the house, works great to notify us of any issues. After nearly a year of use, one of our controllers stopped functioning. I contacted Inkbird, they responded quickly and sent us a replacement within a couple of days. THANK YOU INKBIRD!!

Despite the odd brand name and surprisingly low price, this thing is excellent. If youre not a techie you might find the settings menu bewildering. I have HVAC background so cryptic menus like this are old hat. Accurate remote humidity sensor. Makes a slight but noticeable whine like in its power supply. Power cord is pretty thin so its a bit worrisome plugging in a high-current device.

Awesome and helpful product. I have a humidifier and dehumidifier plugged into it and they both turn on/off when my humidity gets either too high or low based on the controller settings. Easy to use and several good how to videos on youtube. I highly recommend this product.

Does not work the best to measure humidity unless calibrated somewhat often & for sure not as user-friendly as advertised. It helps to watch youtube videos and third-party materials to figure out usage.

For years Ive been disgruntled at purchased de-humidifiers and their lousy humidity control. The sensors in these products are sloppy at best and often fail over time. The key to this controllers effectiveness is the very accurate sensor itself, the rest is just common sense digital control. The available options and settings for controlling the dehumidifier are top shelf! This also works with humidifiers so am looking forward to doing some testing this winter. I FINALLY know exactly what the humidity level is in my basement and rest assured my power consumption to maintain my desired humidity is minimized. (you can even calibrate this controller if you have a known good dry bulb kit or similar) Yes, the set-up is somewhat confusing, but if you have a basic understanding of humidity and hysteresis settings, its a breeze, and easily adjustable at any time you desire. For the price, this is an amazing control, and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting better humidity control in any environment. Ive had it running for a month now 24/7 with no problems.
