I use it to control an old wick-type room humidifier. All I had to do was plug it in and plug the humidifier into one of the outlets (the other outlet would accept a dehumidifier so you could use both). The instructions for set up require a very close reading, but they are appropriate for the device. You set the desired percent-humidity and the differential; i.e., how far below the desired percent will trigger your humidifier. The differential was pre-set at five percent which was far too great; I re-set it to one percent, the minimum. Now the humidifier shuts off at 35.0% and starts again at 34.0%. The device has been running constantly for about a month, now, and is doing a perfect job.

Definitely a game changer! Used for legal medical grow tent environment control along with humidifier/exhaust fan & it beats hanging wet towels every couple hours. 3 stars on accuracy because im not sure. I also use a simple digital temp/humidity gauge along with sensor supplied with this controller & theres variances between the two but I take into account the differences between the 2 devices. Which one is more accurate? I make it work. When things are leveled out they are pretty close.

The ink bird humidity controller is very accurate right out of the box. Make sure you have a dehumidifier or humidifier with auto restart at set the values on the humidifier or dehumidifier much lower or higher then your target so the inkbird can completely manage it.. the one drawback is it doesn’t have dual day / night independent settings for absolute RH control which comes in handy to dial in your indoor grow environment but you can find a happy-medium and keep your VPN relatively in check. For the price this is the best out there for the home hobbiest level grower..commercially you would want to run a full environment controller or a humidity controller that lets you set humidity levels for day/night, to achieve this with this controller you would need two controllers on timers and 2 different dehumidifiers....

Is it working? I have no idea. The settings are so unintuitive and the manual online is HORRIBLE. I hope so!

As stated is decent, need to calibrate initially, do not rely on it being remotely close. And check calibration every couple months as it does drift out of calibration.

We bought this to control the humidity in a room where we store our guitars. The ability to set a custom range allows us to adequately control the humidity without constantly cycling the humidifier for short durations. I really like the remote sensor - so the control unit can be out of view while the sensor is up near the instruments. I dont want to monitor humidity down on the floor where the switch is, or across the room where the humidifier sits. I only care what it is by the instruments. I never write reviews, but am really happy with this cost-effective unit.

This device functions well, but I use it to sense humidity in a terrarium and pump in a humidifier when it dips too low. The plants I grow love high humidity, so its not an issue if the humidity reaches 100%. Unfortunately the device has a panic attack when this happens, and will sound an alarm any time it gets that high. (The minimum setting for the alarm maxes out at 100%, with no option to have it off). There is no way to tell this device not to sound the alarm, and its annoying as hell to have this thing occasionally go off after misting the tank.

No real complaints, some of the abbreviations in the LED display could be clearer, I have to look up till I memorize but otherwise does the job. I have to say the sensor is very responsive, as soon as I open the door to the terrarium it immediately sense is a change in humidity and activates the humidifier connected to it

I use it to maintain humidity levels at 95% in a mushroom fruiting tent. Its a game changer. Previously I had used a number of humidity meters made by other companies. All of them malfunctioned at high humidity levels. The inkbird maintained 95% levels well. I realized that that could be done without condensation in the tent.
