Been living in the same house since 1986. Ive been testing my voltage for about 20 years now. The readings with a multi-meter has always been between 119V and 129V. This unit tested out my house between 98V and 100V. It did display that the wiring is correct which it is, hence the 2 star rating. I will be returning this almost useless device.

Being able to see the voltage

Works nicely an dits easy to use and understand...very important little tech!

As an electrician Ive gone through several of these type of outlet/circuit testers over the years, and this one is the BEST! I dont have to use my Fluke 87 DMM since this tester shows the voltage already, and the colored screen tells me at a glance if the outlet is wired properly (Green for Good, red/orange for some sort of fault) its super handy!

This was an inexpensive quick check for plug-ins. The display is easy to use. I have not checked the voltage read out against another volt meter for accuracy, but the three light system for checking polarity and ground was the reason I bought it for. GFCI function seems to work fine.

I got this tester so I can use it with my ham radio set up to make sure the house voltage is consistent. It works great and did detect fluctuations from the circuit I use for my radio. I suspected as much, that is why I wanted to have it. I had fluctuations from 120 to 115, That is very not good for a Ham. I had to make a few changs to my breaker box and decided to make a dedicated home run just for my radio, But I added a single outlet to the wall specifically for this tester.
