> 3 dayMultimeters have their place, but theyre fiddly to use and it takes time to diagnose multiple outlets in a row. This thing? If you just need to quickly find a faulty outlet, or get quick info, its your tool. Plug it in, look at the lights, move on to the next outlet on the circuit. Build quality seems to be as good as one could hope for. No flex in the plastic no matter where you push on the housing, sturdy feeling prongs.

> 3 dayVery easy to use. In the pictures, from left to right, the first light is lit. The second two are not. Find the light pattern that matches. The condition of your receptacle is to the right of it. The second pic, I set the flash wrong. It shows two lights on the left only. The last image is a close up of the third Image.

> 3 dayGreat product for the D Y i folks or maintenance people, i like that it has a GFI tester as well. It will take a little tine to get used to the red led lights. The main feature i believe is it shows the volts coming to the outlet. Again great product.

> 3 dayAs a home inspector I was excited about this outlet tester. Unfortunately, the ground plug came loose after a few inspections and the outlet tester stopped working. I enjoyed the tester while it lasted but it wasnt long. Not worth the money if they need to be replaced so frequently. **Update** The company informed me that they offer a 36 month warranty and sent me a replacement. The replacement was sent quickly and works well. Would recommend purchasing.

> 3 dayBe sure to keep the instructions handy until you’re fluent with this gadget, but once you figure it out it’s fantastic. Great value

> 3 dayCan only be used with 120 volt outlets. Even though it will read 250 volts. Will not work with a 240 volt outlet. The blade direction only goes into a 15/20 amp 120 volt outlet. Easy to use.

> 3 dayI am impressed with this set, particularly for the price. The plug-in outlet tester is the only one Ive seen that not only diagnoses with he same 3 light system as others, but also contains a LED readout of the actual voltage at the outlet. This comes in handy more often than you might expect (for example, if youve got a dead leg on a multi-phase system such as those used in the US. The non-contact voltage tester works as well as any other Ive tested, and has accurately detected voltage every time Ive used it. Great purchase!

> 3 dayAfter about a year of occasional use, the red light in the far left position went out. After panicking from what I thought was my whole place having an open neutral, I determined that it was the unit which failed. Good while it lasted, but I won’t be buying again.

> 3 dayThis instrument gives me a reading of 129VAC. When I check the same outlet with TWO different DMMs (a high end Amprobe AMP-320 and a Walmart E-Sun bargain DMM) BOTH DMMs show a reading of 126VAC. Not a huge difference but still, a difference. I am using this in my RV and, every RVer should have and use basic electric test instruments BEFORE connecting to a power pedestal, ESPECIALLY at campground power pedestals, The Non Contact Voltage Tester (NCVT) included in this kit is one must have tool. AFTER the second test at the power pedestal with a DMM, the electric outlet tester (also part of this package) should be used continuously at an INSIDE outlet to monitor the state of the circuit being monitored. AC power at campgrounds can vary wildly. Using this instrument can tell you at a glance if the powered being delivered to you is too high or low to the point of being dangerous to your expensive electrical / electronic equipment which could give you time to take necessary corrective action. In a regular home, regular use of this instrument can give you the same warning of regular AC power. Bottom line, at this price point, these instruments are worth owning and using.
