16-11-2024I bought this tester to have a way to test my outlets. I sometimes do wiring in my home and I needed something to check behind my work. I was having a problem with a few outlets and according to this tester I did not have a neutral in my outlets. With that information I was able to troubleshoot/trace my work and I found the missing neutral and corrected the problem. So I can say, the small amount of money I spent on this device was well worth it. It did what it was designed to do. I also like the fact that it displays the voltage when I plug it in. Nice product.

> 3 dayLooks cool but terrible accuracy. Verified 120VAC read 109VAC. This is way beyond its stated “accuracy”. Returned immediately.

> 3 dayMultimeters have their place, but theyre fiddly to use and it takes time to diagnose multiple outlets in a row. This thing? If you just need to quickly find a faulty outlet, or get quick info, its your tool. Plug it in, look at the lights, move on to the next outlet on the circuit. Build quality seems to be as good as one could hope for. No flex in the plastic no matter where you push on the housing, sturdy feeling prongs.

> 3 dayTotally amazed with this tester. First let me say it came super fast and as described. At first I was a little concerned because the price was low. So it arrived today and I went straight to testing it. as a licensed electrician I had my doubts. So I plugged it into my house outlets. Knowing my outlets were wired correctly it did exactly what I should expect and tested correctly. Even shows the volts in a digital display. Now I went to my garage and on my bench tester I was able to create a situation that was incorrect wiring. And sure enough this tester caught each wiring issue I could throw at it. Also I do like how its constructed. Its small and fits right into my tool pouch. And also fits into my tool box nicely. For the price you cant beat it. And Ive purchased mistakes in the past but this seems to be one of those wins. So if your on the fence about purchasing this item dont be. Buy it now while you can and while the price is still low.

> 3 dayThis product is a quick, cheap tool for testing outlets. It does the job it sets up to do. Its not an all-purpose multimeter but for outlets its even better because it doesnt give you confusing, floating read-outs the way digital multimeters do but a hard and fast readable number and the problems with the circuit. The only downside I can say about this product is that it needs perhaps a longer reach for recessed plugs. Other than that, as a testing device it should be in every homeowners tool kit.

Greater than one weekThis instrument gives me a reading of 129VAC. When I check the same outlet with TWO different DMMs (a high end Amprobe AMP-320 and a Walmart E-Sun bargain DMM) BOTH DMMs show a reading of 126VAC. Not a huge difference but still, a difference. I am using this in my RV and, every RVer should have and use basic electric test instruments BEFORE connecting to a power pedestal, ESPECIALLY at campground power pedestals, The Non Contact Voltage Tester (NCVT) included in this kit is one must have tool. AFTER the second test at the power pedestal with a DMM, the electric outlet tester (also part of this package) should be used continuously at an INSIDE outlet to monitor the state of the circuit being monitored. AC power at campgrounds can vary wildly. Using this instrument can tell you at a glance if the powered being delivered to you is too high or low to the point of being dangerous to your expensive electrical / electronic equipment which could give you time to take necessary corrective action. In a regular home, regular use of this instrument can give you the same warning of regular AC power. Bottom line, at this price point, these instruments are worth owning and using.

> 3 dayDoes exactly what its supposed to do. Every time it has shown a fault with an outlet it was correct. I correct the indicated fault and it reads the outlet as correct. I would recommend to otheres.

> 3 daySince Ive not gotten any compensation for my feedback, which sometimes offered as free samples or discounts, Im free to give this product the highest score of five stars. Here is why: - It is simple, small, well done, and still working. - It simplifies and improves the process of testing receptacles. - The voltage reading is quite accurate. - I believe its overpriced, however, other sellers ask even more for similar products. For many years, Ive used a primitive 3-lights socket tester; in majority of cases, I would need to take additional measurements with a multimeter or test wires with fluke. Im glad to have this one combined little tester, which does the job.
