For those wanting to use a quick tool to see if your receptacles are connected correctly or to verify the correct voltage, this is a very handy tool. Easy to use. Seems to be made of quality material. Its just plug & play...too easy.

Another useful tool in my toolbox. Solidly built and so easy to use. Im testing outlets for a final walkthrough on a home we are building and need to verify all the outlets are working.

This has become my new all in one tester. Quick and easy to use and allows me to confirm GFCI operation along with voltage at the outlet and confirms wiring issues. The price is right allowing pretty much anyone to own one especially us DIYers.

My dad was electrician so I have all the old legacy tools of the trade. But this thing is neat. He would have gotten a kick out of it. I use it to monitor the output between my various gasoline powered generators. But it is useful around the house too. For those struggling with determining if your gasoline generator has a bonded or floating neutral plug this thing in and it will tell you.

I used it at home to verify our regular and GFCI outlets. I also used it to check my sons home and found that their outlets have no ground.

No wires to stick in (which may limit its functionality if you want to use to test wires instead of outlets). Does 3-prong outlets only; I havent tried it with an adapter on a two-prong outlet. Can test regular outlets and GFIC outlets. So easy to read. But more than that -- it test several things: -- gives you exact volts so you can make sure its not just powered but powered correctly -- tells you if the outlet is wired correctly (e.g. polarity, neutral, hot, ground, etc) While the ones with the wires ending in metal tips might have more universal testing ability, it feels (and I think is) so much safer just to plug this in without holding on to wires. This was perfect for my needs to check outlets in my old house!

Im pretty handy, but honestly was a little worried I would mess something up trying to install a bunch of new outlets. This gave me piece of mind and caught one error that I was easily able to fix according to what it told me.

Dead batteries. But other than that is works as advertised.

This tool is so good and cool looking that I decided to buy 2 of them
