I was installing new outlets and the ones previously intalled in my room the wires were reversed, this helped me correct the problem, everything is eired correctly in ny house now

No wires to stick in (which may limit its functionality if you want to use to test wires instead of outlets). Does 3-prong outlets only; I havent tried it with an adapter on a two-prong outlet. Can test regular outlets and GFIC outlets. So easy to read. But more than that -- it test several things: -- gives you exact volts so you can make sure its not just powered but powered correctly -- tells you if the outlet is wired correctly (e.g. polarity, neutral, hot, ground, etc) While the ones with the wires ending in metal tips might have more universal testing ability, it feels (and I think is) so much safer just to plug this in without holding on to wires. This was perfect for my needs to check outlets in my old house!

Can only be used with 120 volt outlets. Even though it will read 250 volts. Will not work with a 240 volt outlet. The blade direction only goes into a 15/20 amp 120 volt outlet. Easy to use.

I’m in the maintenance industry and this tool come very handy. helps save time when troubleshooting electrical issues get you right to the issue with the gfci and recepticals. Good investment to add to your tool bag for a price you can’t beat.

Seems to be off by a couple volts as compared to actual volt meter but otherwise good product

It works fine but I bought it for my husband and I really no nothing about electric. He said it was fine.

Cool device and a great ideA. BUT this is sold as test equipment and whoever made the voltage chip completely ripped you off because it doesn’t work. It’s not calibrated. This is a GFCI tester for testing GFCI receptacles. Send me one that measures properly

The tester is nice. If you want to monitor or check voltage level, polarity and grounding. Design wise I would rather have green or amber lights for correct wiring and Red LEDs for incorrect or problem configuration. When you see the red I think problem but dont get me wrong, works well. Small improvement.

Ive used Woodhead for almost 3 decades having one that displays voltage and onscreen diagnostic as well as a traditional light scheme is wonderful. I truly enjoy it
