> 24 hourI knew that I had some leaks on our travel trailer (whats new) but I did not feel like ripping it apart to find out where the water was. This tool confirmed my suspicions and told me where the water had soaked the insulation in my ceiling and walls. Since I have never used more expensive units I can not comment on the actual accuracy of this meter as compared those costing hundreds of dollars, however, for my DIY uses I think that this tool is easily worth its weight in gold. I can recommend it, especially for DIYers.

> 24 hourI bought this to look for moisture in vehicle carpets and headliners to shorten my diagnostic time finding electrical problems and water leaks. Paid for itself already on the first use by not having to lift all the carpet, but just the area that showed high moisture. Lifted the carpet and found water damaged wiring.

> 24 hourWater intruded from outside underneath our wood flooring causing some of the flooring to buckle. I needed a device to determine the scope of the water problem. I used a pin-type device to begin with, but its usefullness was limited for my situation as the only way to measure dampness was to insert pins between boards. After reading reviews, I ordered the Klein ET140 which easily found the scope of the problem. I did not need the exact moisture content, but rather the difference in dry boards and damper ones. Zero stars for the included no-name battery which would turn meter off after one minute. Installed name-brand battery; stayed on with no problem. Klein should just not include a cheap battery as I thought the unit was defective before installing a good battery.

> 24 hourGreat for checking water/moisture under hardwood flooring that is 3/4 inches thick. The screen is easy to read.

> 24 hourI needed it to measure the moisture content of freshly cut lumber before I stained it.

> 24 hourThey made a very easy to use, reliable moisture meter. I am a hobby wood worker that needs to know moister content of varying thickness of hardwood and softwood and this worked great. The user interface is great. This is recommended over the “pin” type meters because it reads deeper and doesn’t make holes in the wood. Just be sure when using thinner boards to not stack them on other boards or materials as this can throw the reading off.

> 24 hourI bought this because of a disaster. I had actually two contractors, because the first got fired half way through, who didnt cover my roof for almost a whole month during down pours and snow. My house was literally raining inside! I showed the project manager whom I thought was the contractor how much water was running down my walls. This is the space in my living room between two windows. He said, what does OL mean? Really? OVERLOAD. It is overloaded with water! I just laid my hand on the wall and showed him all the water on my hand. Do you know what his response was? Its our of my scope of work. This happened January/February of 2021. I am actually sitting here in paperwork up to the ceiling ready to go fight this head on to the lead people in charge of this program in Washington DC.. No lawyer or contractor will help. Long story and I cant say much. But it is showing proof that my house is ruined. It is a very expensive home renovation loan.

> 24 hourIf you are putting in wood flooring, or toung and groove walls, this tool is invaluable. Measure your wood and substrate. Know how much its going to shrink or expand. Gaps suck! Compression bows sucketh much more. This is the solution.

> 24 hourI use this to test wood from the wood pile before using in our wood stove. I dont know about accuracy, but relatively Im sure its accurate. A heavy piece certainly shows high moisture content. Very light ones measure what I would expect. So Im guessing its accurate. But what is great is how easy it is to use. Just slide it over the end of a cut log and you can very quickly see the moisture distribution. If there is still a we spot at the center for instance, it shows up right away. Those I put next to the stove to dry for a day or two before I use them. This is really the best answer IMO for my use case. A probe meter may be more accurate, but I need quick reading across the wood. Probe meters dont do that. This does. Ive dropped it a few times, still ticking. Highly recommended. Would buy again.
