> 3 daySolid, quality feel. Great finish with long guarantee. I bought two sets and performed the rekeying. No problem if you follow instructions carefully. I did find that the installation in existing doors was trickier than I though. I had to do some routing, chiseling, etc. The tolerance was tighter with this set than the old hardware it replaced. The deadbolt with this set is Grade 1, the highest level of security. The strike plate (not shown in the photo) is the difference with four screws rather than the more common two. Additional screws are about 3 inches long.

> 3 dayEasy enough to install and key! Be CAREFUL of instructions as the picture and keying can screw up the lock. IF the lock does not align EXACTLY as the picture shows, go SLOW and MAKE sure you are turning the key the correct way! ONE set of instructions when putting the knob on says it doesnt matter which way the lock sits, and it doesnt as LONG as you understand the SMART KEY instructions show to turn a specific way and t HAS to match how the lock is set in.... OR you screw up the lock and keying!

> 3 dayLove his door handles and all the working parts. Been buying cheap door locks for the last few times cause with all the people we have using the house the handle or locking parts was breaking every few years or someone loses a key and need to change them all anyways. This handles are very sturdy and the locking parts are very smooth making everything work so much better. Easy to install and change keys. Now we only need 1 key for the whole property so much easier than fumbling around and trying to find your key at night and in the cold. . Brother in law is a lock Smith assistant. Tried to get into the house and couldnt. Which really surprised him. Spend the little extra and buy at least this quality

> 3 dayThis lockset product does not install easily. Even worse the Kwikset seemed cheaply manufactured. Could not line up screws in the channels. Had a plastic drum to turn for engaging the handle lock. Never expected that. Even though I watched several How to install the Kwikset deadbolt and handle videos, and spent hours trying to align the screws, I had to give up. I was going to return the Kwikset, but was side tracked.

> 3 dayI replaced an existing deadbolt/knob with this Kwikset product. Installation was very easy. Everything is included and the instructions are clear (mostly diagrams). If a part needed to point up, there was an arrow and the word UP imprinted inside the part. Nice touch for those of us who dont install these very often. The only modification I had to make to my door jam was to make it a bit larger for the deadbolt. That took about 5 minutes with a small wood chisel but you can probably use a large flat head screwdriver. I appreciated the really long screws that were included for the deadbolt to make it more difficult for a thief to break in. Unlike some other knob sets Ive seen this one has hidden screws. It takes you a few minutes to realize that you have to take the inside knob apart to get to the screws - there is a diagram showing you how to remove the knob with the included allen wrench and how to snap the cover off but my brain didnt process it at first. Re-keying this was very easy. Im not sure why some others have had a problem. I rekeyed the deadbolt and the knob on the first attempt and both work fine. And, last but not least, the new deadbolt/knob look terrific!

> 3 dayOverall, this was the easiest install to replace a door knob and deadbolt. I am 68 years old and was hesitant due to the original ones being over 15 years and hoping the new ones would fit properly. The hardware had components that were adjustable to fit different size holes. Took less than an hour to remove and replace the knob and deadbolt. They look great. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayPerfect Door Lock Set. Easy to install. Just remember on these type of locks tightening the set screw in removes the door handle and loosening tightens it! Youll have a hard time taking handle off if you are use to the old style which is just the opposite.

> 3 dayKnocked it a star. While it is a nice looking set, was easy to install, and functions well, kwikset still has some work to do with the smart key feature. This is not limited to just this set, but across the board. All keys are cut just a tad different every time, and these locks generally work the best with the original key used to set the lock. Therefore, any copy of the key will be somewhat difficult to operate the lock with

20-04-2025Bought the Kwikset lever and bolt set to use on both entry doors to my house. The first install went a bit slow, as it was my first time installing a door knob/lever. Luckily, the instructions were clear enough that even an amateur such as myself was able to install it effectively. I did not have all the proper tools, so installation went even slower. For the second door, the process went much more quickly. With the right tools and the instructions, I was able to install the lever and bolt with no problems. Overall, its great, as you can use the same key for both locks. The same key can even be used for both the front door and back door. The locks are supposed to be pretty easily re-programmed if you lose your keys and need to get a new set. I havent had the need for that feature yet, but it seems like it would be handy if we were ever to lose our keys.
