> 3 dayAfter wasting money on a similar unknown brand lock/deadbolt combo that was a nightmare to install, this set installed easily and the material/mechanisms are much better. The SmartKey feature works great and is a bonus feature.

> 3 dayWe had the old gold fixtures in our house all older quickset locks and wanted to bring our doors inline with our more modern style. The Kwikset SmartKey latches were a drop in replacement for the old latches and the SmartKey feature allowed me to keep all the doors keyed the same as before. I would have given this product 5 stars but one of the sets I ordered the Deadbolt assembly was mis-threaded, I had to return the item to Amazon for replacement. As always Amazon did great but I had one gold door 3 days longer. Quality control on the Kwikset product could have been better.

> 3 dayI like these locks because 1) they are sturdy and 2) they are simple to rekey for contractors, in-laws, renters, etc. They are also simple to install except for the deadbolt plate, which Ive only successfully retrofitted into a small percentage of my replacements (that plate is bigger than most and so the notch and screwholes rarely line up without a new screw half in an old hole - I end up just using the existing deadbolt plate, which is slightly less secure but not worthy of a lost star). It does lose a star for me by providing identical keys for multiple locksets I purchased (I wouldnt have realized this had I not bought several at one time). I wouldnt use the key that comes with the lock for this reason, except maybe to rekey a lock temporarily for a contractor, guest, etc. The only other downside to this lock is if you mess up the re-keying. You have to either have a reset tool or take it to Lowes or similar store (and for me that has to be when the one old guy who knows how to use the re-keying tool is there so its a big hassle).

Greater than one weekIf I owned any Kwikset stock, I would be very angry. These should cost at least $100/set. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BUY A DIFFERENT SET THAN THESE. These are bump-proof and you can rekey them, to any key you have laying around in about 30 seconds per lock once you get the hang of it. My first 2 took less than 3 minutes total. I dont know what sorcery they used to make it so easy to re-key, but I have the feeling it is a military-grade secret. Someone left a review saying they had ordered 3 sets and they all had the same key. My 2 sets were keyed differently from one-another, so they must have resolved the issue. Also these are way heavier than the ones they replaced, which were less than 6 months old, yet glide effortlessly when opening. Also, they are gorgeous and unlike the last ones I had, dont get all scratched up from a key not finding its mark.

> 3 dayIve used a variety of Kwikset door handles. This one was a good deal compared to local big box stores. One of the primary reason for choosing this door handle set is that it is a common design, readily available, decent quality and rekeying ability.

> 3 dayOrdered (2) last night, and received at 5am the next morning and had them both installed in less than 2 hours, they were easy to install and re-key with the smart key tool. I also checked price and availability at a National home improvement store, and the price was $20.00 more for each and they were on back order. I recommend this product.
