> 3 dayWe bought these to install on the door between our house an garage. We wanted a wave handle so it would be easy to open with a laundry basket or box in your hands, so this was exactly what we were looking for. In SmartKey technology is fabulous--we can key both of these to be identical to other locks so we only have to have one key. Far cheaper than calling a locksmith. The install was quite easy--probably half an hour, which includes the time it took us to quibble about the best way to chisel out the necessary holes on the door and door frame (both were new, so this was the first time a lock set had been installed). I imagine if you were replacing an existing lock, it would be about 10 minutes. They coordinate nicely with all the Venetian bronze and oil rubbed bronze fixtures you can find on the market. Great buy!

> 3 dayLooks great and very simple to install. The directions are clear and concise. The SmartKey function is wonderful, it allows you to re-key the locks with an existing key, which is great if you want to keep your old key or you want it to match other locks in your house. I will say the deadbolt was very tricky to get right with the SmartKey. I happen to have a reset tool for Smartkey locks so I was able to fix it when it didnt program right, but if you dont have one of those or dont want to buy one, be very very careful with the deadbolt when you use the SmartKey function. I love the look of these, the Satin Nickel finish is much classier looking than the standard silver knob the came with my house. To get it facing the right way, the handle at to be flipped, which means the lock is upside down. Not a major issue, but keep that in mind if that aesthetically will bother you. They have a great heft to them. All in all, Im a big fan, but again be careful using the SmarKey function on the deadbolt and make sure you get it right!

Greater than one weekI replaced my old failing front door set with this. Its good-looking (beauty being the eye of the beholder and all that), was easy to install AND re-key! I wasnt expecting that feature to be so easy to do, and really appreciate that part of the design. But, its just not as stalwart or heavy as Id hoped. The door levers have some unwanted play when pressing down or lifting up to open the door. Theyll probably snap off some day, but for the money? Works for now. Ill cross that bridge when I get to it.

> 3 dayI bought 2 sets when we bought our house. They were keyed different from each other and it was easy to re-key so they all match. We had contractors in and out for 2 months and I gave them keys. When the work was completed, I re-keyed everything to the second set of keys. No worries about security. We had Kwikset in our previous home and they stood behind their products and replaced 2 sets at no cost to me when I had a problem.

> 3 dayOrdered (2) last night, and received at 5am the next morning and had them both installed in less than 2 hours, they were easy to install and re-key with the smart key tool. I also checked price and availability at a National home improvement store, and the price was $20.00 more for each and they were on back order. I recommend this product.

> 3 dayI already had another of these combo deadbolt/locking lever on my home, so when I needed to replace the ones on my garage, I went with the same model for a unified look. My previous install didnt need the lever or lock cylinder switched around so I hadnt needed to do that before. On this install though, I had to swap the levers to get the correct one on the outside. Its super simple to do with the included Allen wrench, remove both handles, and just use on the other side. Easy. But then it was bothering me that the cylinder for the key was upside down. I know this is a matter of preference for some, but considering that the deadbolt cylinder is what I consider correct, with the teeth of the key pointing up when you insert it, and now the lever cylinder was the other way, I had to figure out how to flip it. There are instructions online for flipping it for Kwikset knobs, but make sure to ignore those! The instructions for a lever handset is totally different and, as it turns out, super easy to do. You simply remove the outside handle (use the Allen wrench - reminder, you can only do this when the lever is unlocked; if its locked, it blocks the wrench from being inserted to reach the set screw). Theres a C clip holding the cylinder in place which you can easily pop off with a small screwdriver. Then you simply remove the cylinder, rotate 180 degrees, re-insert, and push the C clip back in place. Re-attach the lever and youre done. Thats so much easier than the process on a knob which involves taking the lever out entirely, removing the locking spindle, inserting a couple of screwdrivers to de-tension some spring clips, etc. With the lever you can do it all with the lever installed on the door. Which, of course, I didnt realize until after Id removed it and tried the knob method. :)

> 3 dayThey fit the door great and i like the look of them. Was easy to install, the directions were good. The smart lock feature is so nice. Now all my locks are the same key. Pay attention to the directions when you use the smart lock to rekey. They came with 2 keys but it sure would be nice if they shipped 4. Oh well, getting extras cut at the hardware store wasnt too expensive.
