> 3 dayWe have ordered several of these locks. They are easy to install, re-key and solid. I would buy more if I had a need. I have told family members and friends about them when they move into a new house or apartment. Absolutely love these.

> 3 dayThe hardware itself feels sturdy; looks & works really well. The instructions were a little difficult to follow and screws not labeled. Good thing this isnt my first installation. I needed to chisel out the deadbolt space, as this one is more substantial than the one I replaced. Not a huge deal, though.

Greater than one weekSolid, quality feel. Great finish with long guarantee. I bought two sets and performed the rekeying. No problem if you follow instructions carefully. I did find that the installation in existing doors was trickier than I though. I had to do some routing, chiseling, etc. The tolerance was tighter with this set than the old hardware it replaced. The deadbolt with this set is Grade 1, the highest level of security. The strike plate (not shown in the photo) is the difference with four screws rather than the more common two. Additional screws are about 3 inches long.

> 3 dayquality is a little off. The outside handle wobbles a little and cant be tightened. Inside locked had to be worked on to make it work easy.

> 3 dayI replaced my old failing front door set with this. Its good-looking (beauty being the eye of the beholder and all that), was easy to install AND re-key! I wasnt expecting that feature to be so easy to do, and really appreciate that part of the design. But, its just not as stalwart or heavy as Id hoped. The door levers have some unwanted play when pressing down or lifting up to open the door. Theyll probably snap off some day, but for the money? Works for now. Ill cross that bridge when I get to it.

Greater than one weekEasy enough to install and key! Be CAREFUL of instructions as the picture and keying can screw up the lock. IF the lock does not align EXACTLY as the picture shows, go SLOW and MAKE sure you are turning the key the correct way! ONE set of instructions when putting the knob on says it doesnt matter which way the lock sits, and it doesnt as LONG as you understand the SMART KEY instructions show to turn a specific way and t HAS to match how the lock is set in.... OR you screw up the lock and keying!

> 3 dayI purchased for front security door. Installation was easy but tolerances are too tight. I cant unlock the door from the inside when its hot from afternoon sun shining on it. The metal actually expands.

> 3 dayI purchased these as part of a complete replacement of the 25 year old brass hardware in my house. Install is quick and easy. The levers are reversible. They weigh about 20% less than the old units I pulled off, but they feel sturdy enough They look great, and work smooth. I dont know if theyll hold up for another 25 years. The SmartKey feature is really nice. I have that on some rental property and rekeying takes only a few minutes. The advantage here was that I ordered three units, and didnt have to worry about them being keyed alike. In fact, I got three random key patterns, all usable with the SmartKey system, saving even more money, and making my life simpler. Oh, and they are supposed to be bumping resistant. Another good thing.

> 3 dayGreat lock system. My husband and I are remodeling our home and the search for locking systems seemed endless - who knew it would be some difficult to agree on a lock!?!? Any way....we went back and forth between several different brands (Schlage, Kwikset, Yale, Brinks, etc...) and ultimately decided on the Kwikset. Our decision was based on the style, durability (we really put these things to the test at the store), ease of use (was the handle comfortable, did the keys work easily, did duplicates work easily, etc), availability (at stores/online and the parts for changing over interior and exterior doors), and finish type. There are a lot of comparable lock sets out there, but this felt and acted much more heavy duty than the others we liked in this style. It was between this set and a similar Schlage set. This set won for 2 reasons - (1) we liked the handles better, on the doors and the front door set and (2) the SmartKey system. We have 4 exterior doors to our home, so we thought the SmartKey would be ideal. System works great, easy to use handle, and the door closes snug every time. Tips about this set - our first install was on a basement door. We replaced an original wooden door with a new fiberglass door. Love the entire set up and the new lock set looked great, but the handle was absolutely freezing to the touch. We ended up taking the lock set off and cutting a piece of foam insulation to fit behind. Problem solved! It didnt impact the usage of the lock or handle and cut down on the cold handle/cold air leaking through.
