As you can see the inside area has an opening which reads “do not allow water to enter through the opening”, yet it’s part of the unit that develops slime which needs to be cleaned weekly. Having this opening in such a inconvenient area is next to impossible NOT to get water into the opening. Poorly designed. Consider purchasing a different humidifier that is easy to clean without damaging the motor

I live in a apartment that has a real bad hard water problem and killed my last humidifier. We are talking pink slime and brown mineral build up on the humidifier. I filter the crap out of my water now but still worried that it would not be enough and kill another humidifier so I hesitated to buy one, let alone one for a hundred dollars. But my wife begged me and this went on sale so I decided to give it another go. This humidifier beats the crappy one I got from Costco easily. Not only is it quiet compared to my old one, it also works on a decently large living spaces. It has a button to switch between cool or warm mists and turns on and off automatically to save on refills. My living room has a bar that opens to the kitchen and dining room so I had to take that into account when buying this based on square footage so I had the feeling this wouldnt cover it. (over 900 ft²) But I wanted to gauge it first to see if I needed two of these or if I could get away with buy this and one smaller one. (Its rated for only 750 ft²) Honestly it does the job, I set it to 55 and it did just fine by itself. But because of the room sizes it doesnt shut off automatically very often. I like it so far and my wife loves it. We ended up getting another smaller one from the same company for the room for 40 bucks and that one is pretty good too but slightly louder with the water gurgles. Now here is the only negative things I will say. I gave it 5 stars because one, my room exceeds the rated size and it still performs well. It does produce white dust everywhere, I even found it in my bathroom. It likes to cling to plastic objects but can easily be dusted away. But this is due to my hard water and not the product itself. If you have hard water problems like I do, you are going to want to purchase a demineralization cartridge pack to help. Secondly I noticed that the mist direction can be adjusted to point in two different directions. This is sadly poorly designed because the humidifier measurement is most accurate when it is pointed toward the front of the machine. I have a few devices that measure humidity levels in the house and the measurements on the humidifier were wrong when I had it pointed to the sides. Also read all the instructions before using it. There is a lot of DONT DO this in the manual that I would have missed if my wife didnt point them all out to me. I just wanted to set it up and tossed the manual to the side. I would go over them but there are a lot of things that can destroy the unit so if you dont want to be on the phone with the customer support looking like a fool like I did to my wife for not reading the manual first. Please read the manual. Besides all that stuff its a great humidifier and I am probably going to purchase another one. Just want to wait awhile so my wife stops thinking it was her great idea. Even though it totally was. . . She dont need to know that though.

Does it’s job but a bit of a pain to clean. I run it almost constantly during fall and winter. Needs a deep vinegar cleaning almost weekly even when using purified water. Otherwise no complaints.

Ive had the humidifier for a few months and loving it. With the wifi function, its very efficient. I just wish Levoit would provide instructions on how to wash and clean the top cover where the steam comes out.

I bought this after reading other reviews determined to find the right humidifier for my severe dry eye condition. After owning 3 others that lacked in so many ways, I’m SO thrilled this humidifier works as described! So many amazing features…and the diffuser pad is ideal when you’re not feeling well or just want a soothing smell to help you sleep. Highly recommend! Ps-my dry eye is no longer an issue!

I usually wait a few weeks or longer before writing reviews, No need to wait for this one. I am starting to like Levoit products, got an air purifier, stick vac and this. Holds over a gallon, which I like, my last one was just shy of a gallon, which was awkward. Looks like it would hold about 1.5, never tried more than a gallon. Last about 24 hrs on low with that, and I consider that very good. I have it set to turn off after 8am when I typically am not there, doesnt have an auto on feature wish it did, but I turn it back on around 8am to run all night, so that right there saves on water -[itll pop up a note on your phone, if you want, when it runs out of water] Nice you can turn off the display easily, just has a 2 digit % humidity reading, but at night its quite a beacon. Not only for me but for my guitars, I have acoustics hanging on my wall and they warp without humidity, so its essential for my playing to keep them humidified. Seems like it may be a bear to clean from reading the instructions, havent got that far yet. Reason its a 4 star and not a 5 - The scent pad doesnt seem to do a thing, tried loading it with a couple scents and really could not smell them, so thats a disappointment. Other than that, a superior product.

I got this for my son. He collects Philodendrons and he says it is doing a wonderful job in his apartment

I’ve been using this humidifier 24/7 for three years without a hitch. I live in a very dry environment and was always getting shocked whenever I touched anything. Once I got this humidifier, that stopped. My living area is 2500 square feet and this humidifier has no problem with the size of the home. If this thing ever breaks down, I’ll be replacing it with another Levoit humidifier product. Highly recommend.

I bought this humidifier for my room with many other hygrometers in the room, and the hygrometer on the humidifier always reads over 10-20% more than what’s actually in the room. With the smart scenes setting on my app, this makes it hard for it to stop when humidity is for say at 80% because the humidifier will read 80% and shut off, while all 5 of my other hygrometers read about 68-75 humidity, resulting in me leaving it on not knowing when it’ll mist up the room and end up being 90-100% humid. It would be helpful if the digital hygrometer on the humidifier read more accurate humidity.

This is the second Levoit humidifier I bought in the span of two weeks. The first was the Smart Cool Mist humidifier. It made only a small impact on the humidity in my bedroom so I opted for this unit which has a larger tank and supposedly puts out more mist. Unfortunately, it also is not able to get the humidity in my bedroom to a healthy level of 50-60%. So far, the highest it has recorded is about 42% and that only lasted for a short while. The avg humidity when running is reported to be around 35-38%, up from the room standard of 24-28%. An improvement, sure, but not delivering on the promise the product is supposed to deliver. I tried emailing Levoit customer support and got a run-around. I explained my room size (a NYC apartment bedroom with high ceilings and steam heat) so that they could recommend a replacement. They never did. I like Levoit products because of their connectivity to a mobile app and the air purifier I have seems to do a decent job. I am incredibly disappointed that none of the humidifiers I have thus far tried have created a healthy humidity in my bedroom and am very dissatisfied with their lack of customer service. Have to figure out what product to try next.
