Greater than one weekI’ve been using this humidifier 24/7 for three years without a hitch. I live in a very dry environment and was always getting shocked whenever I touched anything. Once I got this humidifier, that stopped. My living area is 2500 square feet and this humidifier has no problem with the size of the home. If this thing ever breaks down, I’ll be replacing it with another Levoit humidifier product. Highly recommend.

> 3 dayIts a decent humidifier with warm and cold mist options. Does a good job of increasing the humidity level in a short time. Only complaint is that humidity level shown on the display might not be relevant. It senses its immediate surroundings and the actual humidity level 2 ft away from the unit might be half of whats shown on the display.

> 3 dayI had another Levoit humidifier that only lasted about a year. The tank cracked in several spots but otherwise was pretty solid. This one looks to be better built. For the review mentioning this wont work with 5G routers, you should be able to setup both a 5G and 2.5 on your 5G router. Ive had to do this with lighting in my house and it works fine once you set that up. Also important to note, the humidity sensor doesnt work. It bounces around all the time. Currently, its saying 75% but my humidity meter in that same room reads 40%. Sometimes it works but its pretty rare so dont buy it if you plan to use the auto mode.

> 3 dayI bought this humidifier for my room with many other hygrometers in the room, and the hygrometer on the humidifier always reads over 10-20% more than what’s actually in the room. With the smart scenes setting on my app, this makes it hard for it to stop when humidity is for say at 80% because the humidifier will read 80% and shut off, while all 5 of my other hygrometers read about 68-75 humidity, resulting in me leaving it on not knowing when it’ll mist up the room and end up being 90-100% humid. It would be helpful if the digital hygrometer on the humidifier read more accurate humidity.

> 3 dayI own several wooden musical instruments that require consistent humidity levels. This is particularly critical in the winter when homes in my area (mid-Atlantic coastline, USA) tend to see deep declines in relative humidity levels that remain unstable, which is very bad for instruments. I require 40% - 50% RH in my office/study, which is an enclosed space of 150 sq. ft., something this unit should easily handle. It fails, mainly because its internal hydrometer is completely whacked. The manufacturer was perfectly responsive and professional when I complained and quickly sent me a replacement. Which was equally problematic, so the problem isnt one of a malfunctioning unit. The problem is with the product build. The first unit arrived and started great. I didnt need, nor have used, all the functions. I merely required 40-50% RH in my study. So my review doesnt get into the cool v. warm mist, aromatherapy options, remote control operations, etc. All of that stuff was unimportant to me. I just needed consistency. And for the first evening, the unit did great. Critical to this story: I bought two separate hydrometers, one for my study (placed about 8 feet away from the humidifier) the other in my wifes study, where she keeps her own instrument. That first night, the humidifiers RH reading was about 5 points above what the hydrometer was saying, which is to be expected: the humidifiers internal hydrometer sits right next to where the mist is created and where most of the mist evaporates, so it is to be expected that the readings will be a tad higher there. I wanted 40-50%, so I set the humidifier to 45%. I got 40% on the separate hydrometer when the humidifier read 45% and shut down. However, in the morning, I came downstairs to discover that the room had plunged to about 31% RH according to the separate hydrometer. It definitely felt drier. looking at the humidifiers control panel, I was shocked to see that the unit thought the RH in the room was above 80% RH (!). I can assure readers that my study felt drier and that it had not been transformed into an Amazonian climate overnight, with lichens growing off my bookshelves. This became the story of the hydrometer: it would work just fine for a time but would then get these wild excursions in RH readings. I came down one morning for 90 minutes of practice, and in that 90 minutes, the humidifiers RH readings climbed from 45% to 76%. The separate hydrometer on my desk registered 37% when I arrived and 37% when I left, which felt right. I can assure the reader that I didnt break out in a sweat due to the thick tropical atmosphere in which the humidifier suggested I was sitting. As noted, the customer support was kind and responsive. I had a new unit within a week. I didnt even need to send the old unit back. However, the new unit suffered from the same excursions in its RH readings. While a sample size of two hardly makes my experience a scientific study, it seems highly unlikely that I was so unlucky to receive two bad apples. It seems rather more likely that something is just off with the design of these units. There appears to be no way to calibrate the humidifiers internal hydrometer--if one could train the unit by using a separate hydrometer, perhaps I could live with it. But absent this, and as my instruments require consistency in RH levels through the winter when interior RH levels typically plunge in my area as people seal up their homes and turn on the central air, Im going to have to retire these units and move on to another brand/solution. I should add that both of the free-standing hydrometers (the one in my study and my wifes) were consistent with one another. They are on separate floors of the house so that one can expect somewhat different readings, but they were definitely within a few % points of one another, and they consistently trended together. If developing and maintaining consistent humidity levels is not a concern for you--if you simply want to turn the thing on and have it pump some moisture your way--I would still consider this a viable solution. Its quiet, easy to operate, and efficient (to be expected, as my study is only 150 sq. ft, and this unit is supposed to handle many times that). But if youre looking to set the desired RH level, turn it on, and walk away, my experience suggests that youre going to be disappointed.

> 3 dayIt is so easy to use. Love that you can set the humidity level, so it doesnt run continuously. And it is accurate; l have a separate humudistat and it pretty much agrees with that of the humidifier. Cleaning is as normal for any humidifier (Ive had several). I would very highly recommend this product.

> 3 dayI purchased the product roughly 39 days ago. Since purchase, Ive run it nearly every day and exclusively use distilled water. The other day when refilling I noticed that there seemed to be a large build-up of something black and generally not something youd want to breathe in at the point where the reservoir feeds into the base, next to the black ring (which I assume is the plate that turns water into vapor). While this is a general hassle you have to deal with on just about all humidifiers, the design of the base of this humidifier makes it impossible to thoroughly clean every nook and crevice as there are sharp angles and cut ins for other plastic pieces to fit. This means youd need to basically use a cleaning solution of some sort that could get into those crevices and kill any bacteria holding out there but doing so will potentially damage the internals of the device, not to mention that those cleaning solutions themselves if not well removed after cleaning could do harm. My advice to the manufacturer: 1) Every surface that contains water within the base of the humidifier should be easy to clean and disinfect without the use of a Crevice brush, Rather than hard corners where 2 plastic pieces connect the corners should be rounded so that no bacteria/mold or other uninvited guests can get underneath them. Ideally, a paper towel, some disinfectant, and a finger should all thats needed to get a humidifier back up and running again and make the buyer feel confident that they arent inhaling lungs full of either disinfectants or whatever that black stuff was. 2) Throw the refill hole on the top of the reservoir... why the bottom? On some devices it makes sense..but for this one? I dont see any logical reason for it. 3) The part of the reservoir which connects to the base should be a thing that can be easily removed, disinfected and placed back on the reservoir. #4) How about some google home/Alexa integration? I intend to keep this humidifier for now as options for quality humidifiers that can humidify large spaces are limited. That said for my bedroom at least Ill be planning on upgrading to a Dyson humidifier or something else with UV light that can kill bacteria in the base.

> 3 dayI have a totally simple Levoit humidifier downstairs (cold only, just pour water in top, no auto shut-off, no learning curve). I use that one frequently because its so easy. This one is upstairs - I figured the heat setting would be nice if Im sick, as would the essential oil set-up, but it turned out that Im too busy to want to read the instructions, so as of yet Im just using it like the simple one downstairs. It does have two steam spouts so you can turn them in whatever direction you want. Someday Ill read all the instructions.

20-04-2025Does it’s job but a bit of a pain to clean. I run it almost constantly during fall and winter. Needs a deep vinegar cleaning almost weekly even when using purified water. Otherwise no complaints.
