> 3 dayI was tired of the inability to keep our ole Honeywell (filter style) cleaned. I took it apart with intentions to clean, but when I was done…..I wasn’t putting it back together. So, when it was determined it was being replaced, I wanted to find a replacement that had more and better features. After my research, Levoit won out over all the others. Filterless was important. Being able to disable all lights was important along with several others. We turn this Levoit on and leave it on. At this stage, we are very pleased with our selection.

> 3 dayThough I do not feel aroma oils, all the product design, UX/UI design, app connectivity, and functionality are awesome!!!! I’ve struggled with washing humidifiers and refilling waters in them, but I like this top-fill and easy to maintenance humidifier!!!

> 3 dayI purchased the product roughly 39 days ago. Since purchase, Ive run it nearly every day and exclusively use distilled water. The other day when refilling I noticed that there seemed to be a large build-up of something black and generally not something youd want to breathe in at the point where the reservoir feeds into the base, next to the black ring (which I assume is the plate that turns water into vapor). While this is a general hassle you have to deal with on just about all humidifiers, the design of the base of this humidifier makes it impossible to thoroughly clean every nook and crevice as there are sharp angles and cut ins for other plastic pieces to fit. This means youd need to basically use a cleaning solution of some sort that could get into those crevices and kill any bacteria holding out there but doing so will potentially damage the internals of the device, not to mention that those cleaning solutions themselves if not well removed after cleaning could do harm. My advice to the manufacturer: 1) Every surface that contains water within the base of the humidifier should be easy to clean and disinfect without the use of a Crevice brush, Rather than hard corners where 2 plastic pieces connect the corners should be rounded so that no bacteria/mold or other uninvited guests can get underneath them. Ideally, a paper towel, some disinfectant, and a finger should all thats needed to get a humidifier back up and running again and make the buyer feel confident that they arent inhaling lungs full of either disinfectants or whatever that black stuff was. 2) Throw the refill hole on the top of the reservoir... why the bottom? On some devices it makes sense..but for this one? I dont see any logical reason for it. 3) The part of the reservoir which connects to the base should be a thing that can be easily removed, disinfected and placed back on the reservoir. #4) How about some google home/Alexa integration? I intend to keep this humidifier for now as options for quality humidifiers that can humidify large spaces are limited. That said for my bedroom at least Ill be planning on upgrading to a Dyson humidifier or something else with UV light that can kill bacteria in the base.

> 3 dayAfter 14 months of nightly use our Levoit humidifier failed. I contacted the Levoit support group and after sending them a video documenting the problem they sent a replacement humidifier. Great job!

> 3 dayI researched for a couple weeks before choosing the Levoit 6L warm/cool humidifier. I chose it because of the water capacity, noise level and essential oil reservoir. I’ve had smaller room evaporative humidifiers with fans and filters that were annoying and noisy to have in a bedroom. I am pleased with the whisper noise level while using warm mist. My bedroom is about 250sq ft. First night I ran low mist and low heat continuous and it ran for 20 hrs. Second night I set it at low mist low heat and 50% it ran for 23 hrs. The 50% setting kept the room at 41-43% although the humidifier said 45-50%. My hygrometer is 8’ from humidifier. These percentages will differ as the outdoors humidity changes. This humidifier is the best I’ve owned for noise and humidity output. Although it does have a couple things that aren’t all that great. #1. The essential oil reservoir is an awesome idea. It just doesn’t produce much aroma after trying plenty of two different brands of essential oils. This isn’t a deal breaker for me. #2 The tank is a bottom fill. It isn’t awful but a top fill would be nice. #3 The humidifier isn’t responsible for this. I will tell you that using tap water will create a very thick white dust everywhere! I did have this in the back of my mind when I bought it. On “LOW” this puts out “LOTS” of mist therefore “LOTS” of mineral dust. Still not a deal breaker. After the two nights I stopped running it and ordered a water distiller. ** Update ** Distiller arrived! dust cleaned up and….. Distilled water leaves no mineral dust! Wonderful. Bottom line: For me it’s a keeper. Midwest winters are very dry and I am confident this will do it’s job with ease. Hopefully it will last a few seasons with doing routine cleanings. I first used tap water and after two tanks, of course the dust, but the area under the little pad where it vibrates was totally packed with mineral build up. It did clean out ok with soaking it with white vinegar and using the included brush. Now that I am using distilled water I clean it every 5 tanks… and really there isn’t much of a build up yet. I just want to keep bacteria and mold from growing. It is so simple to clean and it certainly can’t hurt.

> 3 dayThis is the second Levoit humidifier I bought in the span of two weeks. The first was the Smart Cool Mist humidifier. It made only a small impact on the humidity in my bedroom so I opted for this unit which has a larger tank and supposedly puts out more mist. Unfortunately, it also is not able to get the humidity in my bedroom to a healthy level of 50-60%. So far, the highest it has recorded is about 42% and that only lasted for a short while. The avg humidity when running is reported to be around 35-38%, up from the room standard of 24-28%. An improvement, sure, but not delivering on the promise the product is supposed to deliver. I tried emailing Levoit customer support and got a run-around. I explained my room size (a NYC apartment bedroom with high ceilings and steam heat) so that they could recommend a replacement. They never did. I like Levoit products because of their connectivity to a mobile app and the air purifier I have seems to do a decent job. I am incredibly disappointed that none of the humidifiers I have thus far tried have created a healthy humidity in my bedroom and am very dissatisfied with their lack of customer service. Have to figure out what product to try next.

> 3 dayI rarely write reviews but this one deserves the extra miles. My Levoit started making a humming rotating sound after 5 months of usage that made it difficult to fall asleep and we had to stop using it at night. I sent an email with a video to the company who responded swiftly and requested few extra information. They followed up promptly, they exchanged it in a timely manner and they communicated efficiently. I would recommend them any time! The humidifier itself is very useful and we can’t sleep without it anymore.

> 3 dayThis is a must if you have a Ikea cabinet. Humidity says all day long with the auto setting. Definitely would recommend.

Greater than one weekYour sinuses and your skin will love this. Cleaning once a week is a 10 minute chore but worth it. Best part is the app control. You can schedule it for when you’re coming home and to scale back when you’re away.

22-11-2024In-built hygrometer is woeful. I have two different hygrometers, one is +/- 5% accuracy and the other is +/- 1% accuracy, both of which are usually within 2-3% reading of each other. The Levoit’s in-built hygrometer reading is woefully inaccurate: when the unit is on, it fluctuates wildly in a +/- 10% band around the reading of my two hygrometers; when off, it is always a solid 10% or more below. Worse, the (incorrect) reading can go from 40% to 20% the moment you turn off the unit—doesn’t make sense at all. Because of this inaccuracy, while the auto function is nice in theory, it is actually useless in practice because the unit automatically turns off and on based on faulty readings and not based on the actual humidity. Also, the minimum target humidity is 40%, which can hardly be reached on a dry winter day, so “auto” is effectively “always on”. Cool mist is ineffective. I have two hygrometers to check it. Warm mist is ok. Maximum warm mist is the setting I’ve been using. I can see the humidity budge by maybe about 3-4% in my 300 sq ft space, better than nothing. However, for the amount of logistics around getting distilled water for the unit, it’s not effective enough for me to justify continuing to use this unit.
