Ill be frank. Im having a hard time understanding the rave reviews from others. I used this monitor to replace an old Dell monitor that was so old it didnt even have full HD. While this monitor is definitely better, it did not wow me like I expected it to based on reviews her on Amazon. Is the picture clearer? Sure. Are the colors more vibrant? Yeah, thats noticeably better. However, I stacked this up against a Dell S2719DGF which is $100 cheaper and has 165 Hz refresh. The Dell also had a great picture with good color, almost as good as this LG, even though its not an IPS panel. Plus, it felt like it was a more solidly built monitor (e.g. the joystick on the LG feels cheap - like its going to stop working at any time.) The audio, specifically the DAC, on this LG is worse than the Dell. However, both are not good enough for me to use; direct to on-board audio is much better. I just cant see the big hype of this LG for the extra $100. I returned the Dell, oddly enough, because Dell customer service was a mess. They told me they would provide very limited support, because this FreeSync compatible monitor was connected to an NVIDIA card. That was pretty much a mess-up on their part, but nonetheless, a bit too shaky for me to keep the monitor. BTW - I have 3 LG TVs, so I know what to expect by way of quality and customer service. Plus, I obviously had a Dell monitor for years, plus a few Dell laptops, so I know that company pretty well too. This LG and the Dell both play well. G-Sync with my GTX 1060 worked seamlessly (pun intended) on both, even though the Dell is not considered G-Sync compatible. Plus, refresh rate is good on both. Incidentally, LG missed an opportunity with the software you can download to control monitor settings within Windows. They should include the ability to switch monitor modes with a shortcut. This would all but remove the need for the joystick (for my purposes). In general, the software is pretty useless. Even the feature to switch modes based on the running application does not work properly. A shame really - a lot of potential there. So, in the end, Im keeping this LG because it is officially G-Sync compatible, although it still does not show on the official list at NVIDIA (the 27GL850 does). Plus, it does have a good picture and the refresh rate is decent. However, its not worth the extra $100, if you can get over the limited support from Dell.

No problems / No flickering. I purchased two of these monitors. Both work great. To those complaining about the advertised refresh rate, make sure your Pc/Xbox/PlayStation/ display supports it. Works good on my pc.

Once calibrated delivers an outstanding color range. Big change from 1080 TN. Suffers from some backlight bleed in the bottom left but not distracting. No swivel. I do wish the monitor could drop a little lower. Contrast isnt the best but this is to be expected with an ips panel. Not a big difference between the rest of the options at this price point. My only gripe with the monitor isnt specific to this one but most LG monitors; deep sleep. Unless you set in windows for your monitors to never sleep, the LG will go into a deep sleep feature and appear disconnected, consequently switching your main monitor and moving your desktop icons. If you have multiple monitors be sure to turn off the LG last when youre done and turn it on first when you begin again. Otherwise, love this monitor. No dealbreakers here and not upgrading for a long time

I got this monitor last year in December, and my initial impression. Was Wow. Coming from two Dell 1920 x 1080 60Hrz displays, this one is great from LG for the price of a 1440p 144hrz panel with NVIDIA G-Sync technology and HDR. But, it is not as bright as most panels since its 500 nits. I tried it with my PS5, but sadly it doesnt support 1440p resolution (yet.) So, for now, I use it for my PC setup at the moment. But, after seven months of use, a blue line became apparent (as seen in the picture) until Power On Time: 2848 hours as of writing this review. It wasnt as noticeable at first 3 three months ago, but now its getting to the point where I see it with all most anything with color, even in white. I dont know how to fix this, but until I do, its there. Overall, Im mostly pretty happy with this display.

I absolutely love this monitor so far. For starters it shipped flawlessly. Opened it up and it was quite easy to assemble with only 3 or so pieces. Looked great the second I plugged it in and even better after I tweaked the visual settings. Sometimes I will be using it and just have to say out loud how much I love this monitor the only thing that would have made it better is if it was curved but for the price you cant beat the quality. This monitor is capable of 2k resolution and is perfect for people looking for a g-sync compatible monitor it comes with an hdmi and display port so no need to buy those either. Very vibrant color and a nice settings panel . I was at first confused as to where the settings button was for the monitor but I found it (its under the bottom screen border in the middle). This monitor does not have speakers and I would reccomend just getting a set of speakers from your favorite audio brand if it is in your budget. I have not had the best experience with built in monitor speakers. It does have red on the back of the monitor but it is hardly noticable from the front. It does not have a headset stand built in either. And the screen will not lower below about 3 1/2 inches. The structural integrity of the monitors frame is simple yet sturdy. (Note that these screens are not meant to be touched touching them could result in dead pixels). Overall I highly recommend this monitor because its a good bang for your buck but I also do advise doing some research and taking things into account such as where its going to be placed what picture quality your going for the purpose for getting the monitor ect... as an example this would be an over kill monitor for an office in most cases and you could go with something cheaper with different better features. Getting back on subject this PC is a very good slightly above mid range monitor for gaming and very impressive overall Im excited to see what it looks like with its corresponding gpu!

Tl;dr: fantastic monitor monitor for colorful content, fps games, and photo editing but not for dark content like stealth games or dark (as in color not content) movies. PROS: • Outstanding color reproduction • TN levels of pixel response time. No visible motion blur at 144hz • good ergonomics and stable stand • easy to navigate menu • Joystick for OSD responsive and works well • Visual presets are all useful (sRGB mode looks best) • Adaptive sync compatible with nvidia cards (I used a GTX 1080) • anti-glare coating well balanced, removes 90% of glare without ruining colors or adding visible crosshatching CONS: • Unacceptable amounts of Back Light Bleed • Aggressive IPS Glow • Poor Contrast (compared to other IPS monitor) • Compression artifacts in some 1080p content Overview: I wanted to keep this monitor, I really did, but a few glaring issues made it unusable for me. It’s all plastic and is lightweight but doesn’t creak when in use (from heat build up) or wobble when you interact with it or move stuff around on your desk. Playing bright colorful games like BOTW, Valkyria Chronicles 4, or Dragon Quest XI everything looks fantastic, the colors pop off the screen in way you have to see to fully understand, if anyone was to compare this monitor side by side to any TN the difference would be obvious. There is no visible screen tearing thanks to adaptive sync compatibility, I played Metro 2033 on this and I couldn’t see any ghosting or motion blur even when looking for it. Unfortunately that’s where the positives end. The monitor has problems when it comes to displaying dark content like the black stripes you see in movies (on the top and bottom of the screen due to movies being in 21:9 aspect ratio) and in games with dark environments. In games like Metro 2033 when going through pitch black rooms the IPS Glow, Back Light Bleed, and poor contrast become evident; corners of the screen will have what looks like white and orange clouds on them, the low contrast results in a Black Crush effect where most of the black content blends together in to a blob removing key details from the scene. This applies to movies as well, I watched Skyfall (2012) on this monitor and in some parts of climax scenes in Bonds family home the orange glow was present enough to be distracting, also the Black Crush effect causes sections of the screen be so dark as to make some details hard to see. The actual IPS glow is drastically lessened by sitting at least 3.5 feet from the screen (~1 meter) to the point that it’s not visible to the naked eye and the back light bleed is also lessened (but still visible). Also, the problems with glow, contrast, and BLB are only evident in really dark scenes in games and movies, for example in BOTW even when on Hyrule Bridge at night the effect can’t been seen with the naked eye, it’s only in really dark scenes like stealth sections in the Metro games where the effect is visible. I’ve included photos of what the screen looks like in both dark and well lit rooms. PLEASE NOTE, the effect is nowhere near as bad as my camera makes it out to be but is still visible. Take what see and reduce the effect by 60% in the dark room pics and by 30% in the well lit room pics for a good idea of what it actually looks like. I have tried two of this exact same model, I bought one back in October 2019 only to return it due to the bad BLB then tried again in February 2020 hoping that one from another batch would be better, both had the same problems to the same degree.

I have been using this product for well over a year so the review is much needed. I can start by saying this monitor is def made for gaming with a vibrant and colorful picture right out of the box. The ghosting on this monitor is very minimal but response time should stay on fast and not the fastest option. 144hz 2k monitor at this price for gaming is truly a steal, enjoy it while you can.

Unsustainable packaging. This thing comes in a massive amount of styrofoam. I would have thought LG would spring the extra few dollars for a product at this price point, to use a responsible cardboard packaging option.

Given the usual stellar reviews this has had, I thought Id add a note about my experience. I purchased this monitor ALMOST a year ago. That almost is important. I was completely and totally satisfied with it. The colors were sharp, the response times were phenomenal, and I couldnt have been more satisfied with it. Unfortunately, today, it died. Not a blank screen of death, but a prismatic screen of death.. I know it was the monitor because my SECOND monitor was still working great, and the menu of this monitor wouldnt even show. It was a white, segmented line in the middle of the screen. The colors were pretty, but functionally, it was completely borked. That said, it WAS still under warranty. I communicated with LG support, who asked for the invoice and serial number, then arranged to have a box shipped and a prepaid shipping label e-mailed to me, leaving me only with the task of packing the monitor up and dropping it off at the carrier theyve selected to be repaired/replaced. The turn-around time, according to the rep, was 2-3 weeks. So IF you have a warranty on it, you get NO HASSLES in getting it fixed for free. And because of my experience, I am considering investing in some extended warranties if theyre still offered. The interesting thing is that I have a 12 year old ASUS LCD monitor that still works (last time I tried it) that Ill use as my second screen until this monitor is fixed and returned. I can limp along with a second monitor literally half of the resolution of this one until this one is fixed. So, one star off for dying within a year, but no MORE than that because LG gave me NO hassles in getting it sent to them and fixed/replaced (whichever the outcome happens to be). Ive yet to check into extended warranties, but Id HOPE that the fix has at least another year on it. Ill update this review if I cant get extended warranties OR if the warranty on the fix isnt good for another year. [Edit to add: I take back all the nice things I said about LG, and deduct another star for what happened after I posted this review. I received my monitor back a couple of weeks after I sent it in, and the monitor arrive in a new box, but the power supply had been placed on the wrong side of the box. The result was one of the power supplys prongs was jammed into the power supply itself during shipping, likely destroying the board to which it was mounted and making it useless. I contacted LG, of course, and talked with customer service, I sent them the same picture I posted here, and they said theyd replace it. They did not. Its been almost two months. I knew it would take some time so I bought a compatible PSU from Amazon in the meantime, but I was without my monitor for considerably longer than planned, pushing my productivity levels into the toilet. The monitor did work (though Ive had one unexplained, momentary black screen on it and not my second screen that hasnt yet happened again) after I got a PSU for it, but I shouldnt have had to wait in the first place. The PSU shipped with the monitor was new (I had marked it to see if they replaced it) and the monitor itself had been repaired (the mark I put on the monitor is still there). But the monitor without the special PSU is pretty pointless, and put me far more behind than planned. So what should have been a fully warranted repair ended up costing me the price of a new PSU because someone at LGs repair vendor doesnt know how to pack a PSU properly. As for extending the warranty, Im going to go with another brand next time.]
