> 3 dayI wasn’t expecting such a good monitor for the price point. The packaging is very secure and well done, LG definitely takes care of their products. I plugged this in and try a couple games on my Xbox series s (Apex Legends and MLB The Show 21) both look AMAZING in 1440p. The brightness is insane, I actually had to turn it down to 75 otherwise it hurt my eyes. Colors are extremely vivid and I haven’t experience any ghosting or screen tearing whatsoever from 60fps up to 120. The presets for certain games are actually really good, the FPS one works very well on Apex. If you need TOTAL accurate colors you could customize it yourself, but I find out of the box settings to be very accurate. As far as backlight bleed goes you can notice it on an all black loading screen but only if ure looking for it, as far as regular gaming goes you’ll never even notice it’s there. The only difference between this monitor and the GL850 is that this one doesn’t have the two USB ports on the back. If you don’t need those then save yourself some money and buy this one, it’s literally the exact same thing. The stand is beautiful, a little bulky for some people if ure desk isn’t deep enough but it works for me. It’s so easy to raise up and down, however they did that they did it well. The controls are so easy. It’s one joystick like button on the bottom of the monitor which is genius in my opinion. Overall this monitor is amazing and I would recommend to anyone needing to upgrade. I spent 2 months looking at monitors and reading reviews and I’m happy to say this is the best one for your money. You could spent $450 plus and get one that works the same as this, MAYBE better. Glad I snatched it when it was on sale. Hope this helps anyone on deciding, and you won’t be disappointed if you choose to pick this one up.

Greater than one weekI have owned this monitor for 3 years straight now with ZERO issues. This monitor is boring.. which is a GOOD thing for PC parts. I use it 10-16 hours a day EVERY DAY for work and gaming, never had an issue. One thing i dont like is that the i/o is on the back and not underneath (like going upward into the monitor). This has made other mounting solutions a little difficult, may need a 90 degree cable or adapter for wall or desk mounted setups Other than that its perfect. You wont be upset with this imo.

> 3 dayThis is a great monitory with really good color and display. But can someone please help me explain why my monitor would be stuck at 100 Hz and not 144 when I went to the NVDIA coolntrol panel. For some reasons it only gives me the options of 60 hz and 100hz. Not 144. Could someone please give me a solution? that would mean a lot.

> 3 dayThis monitor is high quality for its price or it was when I bought it but its now obsolete and I can only recommend it if its on a significant lower price than the nano version. Rtings have a custom ICC profile for this monitor, you may check that out in case that you decide to buy this. These UltraGear monitors will perform well and it comes with a stand that will allow you to rotate the monitor in case that you want to play a game with Tate mode. It comes with both HDMI and DP cables. BTW keep in mind that these monitors dont have DP 2.0 connection.

> 3 dayDisclaimer for fair context here: This is my first true 144hz, 1440p, IPS panel experience. Up until now, Ive only ever had descriptions and seen photos (on less than ideal monitors) of what to expect. So my review here may almost certainly be biased in terms of extremes for both pros and cons. With that out of the way, let me just say.. wow, being my first experience with an IPS, I was absolutely blown away with just how much the colors explode off the screen compared to a TN panel. You get used to it very quickly but you definitely have those moments where youre just like Damn, that looks really good. The exact same can be said about the refresh rate. If youre coming from 60hz, the difference is absolutely staggering. Its noticeable the moment you slide the cursor across the screen. Itll give you goosebumps at first. And again, its something youll get used to very quickly but will repeatedly be reminded of how smooth any and all motion appears at the most seemingly benign places. Especially with Windows 10 and its very quick but subtle flow to almost any menu and interaction. Simply opening up the start menu or action center will just appear to glide in as though it was never on the screen but just floating above it. And finally the jump from 1080p to 1440p was much nicer than I had anticipated. My mind knew it was a half way mark between 1080 and 4K but my expectations were more inline with something more subtle. Nope. Youre getting a massive upgrade in pixels here. The best thing about 1440p is that it truly is a half way sweet spot between 1080p performance and 4K sharpness when talking about gaming. The amount of extra power needed isnt insignificant, you will notice a loss in performance, however if youre rocking an RTX 2070 or equivalent GPU, its safe to say that while you might not always get the best out of its 144hz refresh rate, youll almost certainly exceed the 60hz youre probably accustomed to and it really does make a huge difference. 60fps just doesnt feel like a good performance anymore. It feels like what 30fps felt like on a 60hz monitor. Of course its also worth mentioning a few buts now. The G-Sync on this thing is incredible. I can finally turn off vsync and not get those incredibly distracting screen tears which Im unlucky enough to be very sensitive to. However its worth noting that this is NOT a G-Sync monitor. It does not have the proper hardware to support G-Sync at its best. Its G-Sync compatible. Which is to say, it was built for FreeSync but after Nvidias driver update opened G-Sync to FreeSync monitors, this monitor was able to pass the certification process and be sold as being compatible with G-Sync with no real issues. The problem with this might seem nuance but its worth mentioning. G-Sync will NOT work at framerates lower than 40fps. Once you drop below that, youll start noticing screen tearing as the monitor doesnt have the hardware to stay in sync with the GPU at lower refresh rates. Not a deal breaker but just something to keep in mind. If youre still rocking older hardware, you might be lowering settings to accommodate the higher resolution at G-Sync speeds or resorting to turning vsync back on. Finally theres the IPS glow. Its there. Its absolutely there. Its both not as bad and worse than I expected but its well within tolerance as I quickly get sucked into what Im doing and stop noticing it. Unlike backlight bleed, IPS glow shifts around the screen based on your relative position and angle. Its easy to adjust the monitor in such a way that its a minimal issue but due to the size of the display, its impossible to sit at any position or angle and not see some IPS glow somewhere. Usually in the top corners as tilting the monitor up seems to offer the least about of glow. How much this bothers you its going to heavily depend on what kind of content youll be playing. Darker colors show IPS glow much more than brighter scenes. So brighter games like Spyro will hide it almost entirely, but darker games like Control can be real hit or miss and if youre not used to it yet, probably annoying. But its a small price to pay for the kind of color you get over TN monitors.

> 3 dayReceived monitor in a timely fashion, but it doesnt work as advertised. Claims to work at 144hz refresh rate, but glitches out with green/white/blue lines across the screen when running at 144hz. The screen will also go blank for as little as 3 seconds to up to 30 seconds making games unplayable when it occurs. When switching down to 120hz cap on refresh rate, monitor works fine, but that isnt what I purchased the screen for. Wanted to get a replacement through Amazon but they refused to give me a replacement, only offered to refund me which I did not want a refund since I got the monitor on a discounted deal. Now I am trying to get LG to repair the monitor but they arent capable of sending a shipping label to my email when they say I should be receiving it. I am now on my third attempt trying to get a repair shipping label from LG since they said they cannot send them immediately, it should be sent by the end of the day. Worst experience with both Amazon and LG ever. Would not recommend either since neither are willing to replace the monitor. Update: Was able to send the unit for repair through the LG website. This has been the worst experience I have ever had to deal with. First it took 5 attempts to get their support staff to send an email with the shipping label which took over a week of back and forth them telling me to wait and then me complaining that it shouldnt be this difficult to send me a shipping label. Though the repair took about 1 week after the allotted shipping time which was quick. The downside was the unit was not fixed at all, it still had the same issue where it would get a line glitching across the screen and then goes blank for up to 30 seconds. So now the day I got it back I am now being asked to wait for another shipping label for them to repair my unit again, this time I asked for a new unit as replacement but they refused since they demand I have to send it in at least 3 times for repair before that can be an option. LG make terrible products and I will actively tell others to avoid their garbage products and support. Update 2: Just received the monitor from repairs from LG, they sent it without the power cable and am now waiting to hear back about what they can do for me. Cant even test the monitor if it has been properly fixed until I get a new power cable. Very disappointing and extremely frustrating experience dealing with their support services for repairs.

09-06-2025I treated myself to a new computer and wanted a display to replace a really cheap small one Id been using with the old system. With a 3070 GPU, I figured Id get something to match what it could do and this 1440p monitor had some really good reviews. It was a little more than Id initially wanted to spend, but decided to go for it. Its been great. Its brightness is really high and the colors are great. Im just starting with the games I can now play, but its been rock solid there. The control is a single clickable 4-way nub/stick. I was able to figure it out mostly without looking at the manual (which Ive since read). The stand is really nice allowing for height, tilt and going into portrait mode (something I dont really do). THe bezels are very thin on the sides so you could easily have more than one of these side by side. If theres one slight nitpick, its the power cord. Its a wall wart style arranged in an awkward shape and configuration. The cord is also kind of short. As in would just barely be long enough if my power strip were on the floor right behind it. If it were off to the right side of my desk, it wouldnt reach. I see no reason they couldnt have put the voltage regulator in the body of the monitor and used a standard plug. I didnt take off a star for this as it didnt affect me in a negative fashion, but it is something to keep in mind
